I'd say probably 6-7 more years. still has 2 left on this contract and I think he will sign another 4-5 year contract after this season.
As I place the glory of the team first and foremost and not 1 single inept man crush called Prescott, bud I'll be here loving the Star and hanging out at this fine establishment and enjoying the ambiance. If the Cowboys ever trade for a new QB or part ways with Dak you’ll stop coming here. You only come here for one reason.
If there was an ounce of truth to that you would show up after the Cowboys win. You’re a no show after they win a game. Lol However, you show up immediately after they lose games and continue your Dak bashing. You’re not a Cowboys fan. You just have nothing else better to do than to carry on the same tiring agenda. looking for attention. I have you all figured out.As I place the glory of the team first and foremost and not 1 single inept man crush called Prescott, bud I'll be here loving the Star and hanging out at this fine establishment and enjoying the ambiance.
we can only hope.... In those 2 centuries us dak worshipers we can keep seeing him shirtless. With nutritionally dense IVs and colonics, seasonal hibernation and state of the art revival techniques I think Dak can start for at least 2 more centuries.
Its obvious, just like the undying love for garret!I suspect that Dak will be here longer than Jerry.
never before? literally all the timeWere in uncharted waters. Never before has a slightly better than avg QB been paid like superstar elite QB. This whole QB salary has defeated the purpose of the salary cap. I will say these kids being drafted are much more highly trained than they have in the past and they're teaching them to running a pro offense.
I think you’ve got more posts talking about loving dak, dak shirtless, pet names for him etc than the rest of the board combined.I agree can't this be moved to the, "I'm in love with dak forum"?
i feel like letting amari go threw a monkey wrench into evaluating last year, personally. losing him and having gallup a shell of himself downgraded the offenses ceiling in a season our defense was finally a force to be reckoned with. getting cooks and upgrading the defense with gilmore and mazi and i feel like this year will be the best team we’ve had since 2013Yeah, I disagree. I think a team should move on from a QB if they are unable to move further in the postseason after giving said QB ample opportunity with similar results (especially with regards to offensive struggles at the QB position). I would say 5-6 seasons starting with any QB gives you plenty of information as to trajectory. If the team was progressing instead of stalling, then I would agree with you.
The team does not seem to be building forward momentum, but plateauing.
Jimmy G was decent. Purdy seems to be decent. Lance (who knows). Farve and Rodgers were played another 3 years after drafting their replacement. Even though their successor was drafted in the first round. I doubt that Dak lasts into his late 30’s unless the Cowboys devote tons of resources building a dominant rushing attack. He’s not like these other QB’s playing into their late 30’s-his play style is quite different. I still say max for Dak is 5 more seasons. That’s only if the team keeps producing winning regular seasons with him.
Too manyI’m going to say max is 5 years. It could be much less, and I tend to believe it will be more like 3 more years. The reason I think this is his playing style and injury history.
QB’s that play way into their 30’s are very good at managing a disruptive pocket. They excel at picking apart defenses with precision and timing. That is not Dak’s game. He and the offense as a whole revolves around the rushing attack. Dak can complement a dominant run game by taking advantage of an overzealous defense.
The problem is he has lost noticeable speed and agility-and he was never a fantastic runner to begin with. He has poor take off speed and poor lateral agility (relatively speaking) which will make him a target in the pocket this year and any season that follows it.
I say all this knowing that if he and the team continue to rack up regular season wins (despite next to zero playoff success), he will get several more years to start.

with jerry as GM , lol maybe 12 more years..........its a process!I’m going to say max is 5 years. It could be much less, and I tend to believe it will be more like 3 more years. The reason I think this is his playing style and injury history.

Meh, "good" QB talent is not that hard to come by. Great QB talent is truly very hard to come by.Sorry but I disagree. I believe good qb talent is hard to come by.
Makes you wonder what would have been if Romo had stayed healthy and played that 2016 season with that o-line and a rookie Zeke. The 214 era ends in the Spring of 2024.
The team already proved that is can win with a game manager under center. Dak Prescott is an average QB who is being paid like a stud. Makes no sense to keep paying premium dollars when you can improve the overall team and continue winning without spending a fortune on DakSorry but I disagree. I believe good qb talent is hard to come by.
Why do you think he hurried back. They never expected the team to rally and go on tha 5-1 run with Rush.Should have lost his job last year to Rush.
