How the players will look at Dak next year, knowing he will choke

The joke is over, and the truth has come to light.
The Cowboys players will know from day one of training camp that Dak will choke every time they play a team that won't lay down for them. They will know that their playoff hopes will end when they face any team that punches back.
Which might be what they want.
The players these days make so much money that the post season is just an intrusion on their offseason plans, and doesn't pay as much as the regular season games. Only those who can capitalize in the endorsement deals and commercials actually benefit from the post season.
No matter what they say, Dak is not a leader, except at the bank.
And that will lead to uninspired play, and eventually the wheels not only come off, but will be shattered beyond repair.
I think this team quits on him! You can't tell me if Parsons was disgusted last year that that whole locker room wasn't talking about Dak all season waiting for this game to see how Dak plays. Heck even some of us fans saw this coming. This team saw Dak against Buffalo and Miami and knew they weren't going anywhere.

Yes, but it can be one and the same. Our QB can be part of the problem with other contributing factors.

Focusing on one issue is short sighted or lazy analysis . There’s several moving pieces to hold responsible and critique.
Of course it can . . . but in this case it was not. . . You know there is something called momentum

Dak caused it . . . He is the source and He did nothing to stop the bleeding . . . He continued to contribute to the hole the team was in

Expecting the Defense to not be affected by Dak's performance is dishonest

And this is not a 1 off . . . Every single time He Chokes in a big game some on else on the team is merciously attacked to misdirect blame. . . I know because for the last 8 years I have had to defend Romo, Dez, Beasley, Zeke, Everybody on our Offensive Line and the Defense as a whole . . .Every game there is someone else to blame

It is 2024 can we stop already

Do me a favor write a critical post that breaks down Dak's Game plan without mentioning a team mate

The defense gave up the initial score driving it down our throats before Dak coughed it up for two interceptions. And even after we scored on back to back possessions to end the half and begin next half we had no answer on defense.

We gave up 7 TD‘s on their first 8 possessions. It was a total collapse or choke job from everyone including Dak.

Yes, and yes. But our defense gave up 7 TD’s on their their first 8 possessions. The entire team choked.

Remember they drove it down our throats to begin the game. Chit went downhill from there. Two interceptions were devastating but even when we begun to get the offense going our defense had no answer.
Well I see where the disconnect is . . . You think interceptions for touchdowns is a mark against the defense . . . They were not on the field

Did you watch the game? Do you remember feeling like you got the air knocked out of you after each Dak interception. . . Do you remember feeling numb and shellshocked. . . Well that is how the defense felt except they had to go back out and try to win the game . . . On their own

Cowboys have usually gotten off to pretty good first half season starts so possibly not early on. But this subject is bound to rear it's head at some point next year be it early or late.
And your OP is not far off in its description of how stuff usually kept in locker rooms becomes more public based on how much added pressure Dak and this Buy into us fraud HC will be under.

Just a matter of time imo.

I would agree with not going to back Romo in 2016. And just more evidence how Jethro is core issue and one constant throughout this era.

He is the BS we all should be tired of. He’s responsible for our QB, coaching and all of the weaknesses this team has had this era.
Jerry is who he is. This whole time I have no animosity towards Dak. I have blamed Jerry for the whole situation, but to blame him after a game played is not proper . . . We are discussing the reasons for this lost.

There is one big decision that needs to be made and it involves Dak and His contract which has 3 options maybe a 4th if Dak agrees

1. Let Him play out current contract
2. Extend Him
3. Cut Him after June 1st

Because of this many wanted to see how he performed Sunday to judge what should be down. All I hear on this board is that Micah is overrated, CD is soft and overrated. Jerry Is the problem and Big Mike did not have the team prepared . . . And if anyone mentions Dak the $60 million man immediately someone throws some on else under the bus

Let me ask you a question . . .

How do you want Dak's contract to be handled? Not what you think Jerry will do. . . What would you do?

For me option 3 or trade him if Dak allows for it

2 of the 4 TD’s given up on way to 27-0 was Daks fault.

But I was concerned when they drove opening kick off down our throats. And when we couldn’t stop them all day.

i shot down fans all season on the hype cause my hope all rest on our improved defense carrying our QB and offense .

And I don’t have a problem holding him responsible for his lousy play. Called it out against good teams all year along with other aspects. And I’ve knocked down Dak Homers as well.

But there are several moving pieces. We are not losing these games solely by our QB. Is it an important part. Certainly. Good teams and defenses have been giving him fits for his entire career. And he doesn’t play his best games on the biggest stages.

My history on my critique of Dak is on record for last 8 years but I’m not going to hold him completely responsible or troll Cowboy fans on this board cause our owner won’t draft an Elite QB. This team has many weaknesses including a culture which isn’t held accountable.

I’ve been ready to move on from Dak after his rookie contract. And I expect Jethro to extend and over pay Dak again. But yet you still don’t think our ownership is core problem even if he insist on resigning what you believe is obviously biggest issue. Please explain…

So your claim is that because Green Bay scored on their 1st possession . . . Dark was left in awesome person he had to dig himself out of and His interceptions in no way affected the defensive momentum . . . You focus on that 1st possession TD which happens and then gloss over the interceptions. . . 1 a TD . . .

Real critical

Nope, didn’t say that. You missed part where I said his two interceptions were devastating.

I stop short of holding him completely responsible letting the rest of team, coaching staff and ownership off the hook.

Are you claiming Dak's play had no effect on The Defense. . . Is this your 1st year watching football?
Do you usually have selective reading? Because there were a lot of poor outings that contributed to that loss including #4 as I have been saying. Some are trying to say the defense wasn't to blame as well for the loss. Fans are puzzling, its as if you hand someone a bright "yelllow" paper and they argue its red. Just silly.

That’s our owners and GM call. I’d argue Jethro is more comfortable with this type of team and QB that starting over trusting himself to find the next QB.

We haven’t placed a premium on drafting a top QB in decades.
I believe Jethro realized He fudged up in 2016 and continues to invest in Dak in a vain attempt to redeem himself to justify that He was not a moron

#3 over all pick is on the team and He is sitting and learning which I am a big fan of

(Big reason I wanted Dak to go back to the bench in 2016. . . I believe QBs develop irreversible bad habits when they are thrown to the wolves)

3 years straight now and same result . . . Many. of the coaches and players have changed

Same exact result . . . Only playoff game we won was the one Zeke put us on His back . . . Every other one is the same old same old . . ..struggle early then make a valiant come back . . . defense takes all the heat and he gets a pass

So I'll ask again . . . Are you saying Dak's play had no bearing on the defense?

It is either yes Dak put undue pressure on them which caused them to struggle or No they were gonna play terrible even if Dak did not continually put undue pressure in the Unit

You did not day devastating

You said San Fran had already drove down the field even before Dak coughed it up

Never said Devastating . . . You kind of downplayed the impact and even threw shade on the defense before even mentioning the interceptions

Bro it is what it is . . . You know that and I know that . . . Even a purposely blind man could see it

I think you should bring back the fat drummer meme for the Die Hards who continue to cling to Dak

I've got the craziest What If counter to the message of the OP?

What IF Jerry chose a QB at pick 24 and he started and did a Burrow to the Bengals type impact?

I mean it would be two fold.
It would disprove all the Jerry hate about he wouldn't pick a QB to show up his mistake with Quack
and to an extent and on a deeper level would prove that an elite QB does in fact cover a whole lotta warts.

To include head coaching and general managing.

Yeah I would pay money to read the Mensa think tank responses here.

And let me be clear, I'm an equal opportunity hater of the current Cowboys position holders at
GM, HC and QB.

Just a fun thought for me to think on.

Dak is the main issue and everyone knows it. That fact can no longer be denied.
The last game was a repeat of every big game for the last eight seasons.
Dak threw two interceptions-one was a pick six- and at least two more should have been interceptions but were dropped. And he missed Tolbert wide open for a touchdown because he was focusing on CeeDee Lamb and threw into double coverage.
Dak provided NO help for the Cowboys defense- which was why the Packers offense had free run.
Trying to stick up for the Cowboys defense against the Packers is just as silly as sticking up for Dak. Everyone was horrible.

Green Bay was up 7-0 before Dak even took the field. Where was the run defense? The pressure? The turnovers that Quinn specializes in? The third down stops? How many times did Green Bay punt before garbage time? Where was Micah? Where was Bland? Why were there tight ends running 40 yards downfield uncovered?

I know Dak sucked. But the greatest quarterback play in NFL history would not have "helped" this defense Sunday.
