If CBS is actually getting tired of Tony Romo, as clickbait titles suggest, then he would be a great voice in the ear of the QB as a QB coach, and probably a top notch offensive coordinator. He loves the game, is a student of the game, and would be tremendously effective at designing plays. Few collarbone injuries in the offensive coordinator world, right?

Yes, the Dak-Romo relationship is probably a bit icy, but that can be a good thing too, both would have to be intentionally professional in their discussions.
He should probably pay his dues in college coaching before immediately being in the NFL. And that's if he even wants to coach.

Romo is highly unqualified to be an NFL Offensive Coordinator. Even the “young genius” types like Sean McVey had to work their way up the coaching food chain before gaining that kind of position. You just don’t jump from broadcast booth to OC. Or shouldn’t anyway.

On top of all that, Tony Romo is famously lazy when it comes to prepping even for a TV broadcast. Most of his in-game comments are shot from the hip. Sometimes he’s right but he’s basing a lot of his takes on what he sees as a QB at the LOS, not the big picture of what the big strategic moves are on a grand scale.

Just my opinion but Romo doesn’t strike me as a guy that would be a good coach. It takes a ton of dirty work in the film room, stat sheets, etc to be a good OC. Romo’s not that kind of a grinder.

Romo is one of few prime broadcaster x players who do not have a ring.

Provide one single shred of evidence that Romo didn't work hard in the offseason when he was here.

Oh, he played golf rather than injuring himself doing something stupid. This forum has some of the dumbest fans I've ever come across, only topped by Steelers fans - but at least they defend their former players, even to a fault.
wow man just wow

No Thanks. I liked Romo the player, but you have to have some experience and a legit resume. If Romo wants to get into coaching, he's gotta climb that ladder. you don't just start out at OC. How many times do you have to see Jerry do this to know it's a bad idea? It was foolish with Garrett and Moore.
Tony Romo has no reason to be a coach.

Lol. It would be another Garrett hire, another Kellen Moore hire where one of Jerry’s adopted sons with zero coaching experience is hired and allowed to learn on the job. Meanwhile there are Super Bowl winning offensive coordinators that Jerry would never consider and we wonder why there is almost a 30 year span of no conf championship appearances.

He's got a 10-year $180 million contract with CBS. It runs through 2030.
Sounds like he would love to coach with 10 times the hours worked and one tenth of the pay.

He would be snatched up by Fox in seconds. Fox's #1 team is Glen Campbell and some other guy. Plus, Romo wouldn't take the pay cut.

I see people saying why would he give up 20 mil a year job, but if jerry offered him 50 mil a year lol I am sure he would at least
consider it.
Would tony be a good OC, probably better than avg, but no way to know unless he did it.

The guy I would want though is kurt warner, he is more available, and cheaper. And he obviously likes doing it , in his study ball videos.

Romo was an above average player. And the way he played favorites as a player, playing favorites as a coach is prolly not that good. Ill pass
