Yes he absolutely didT.O undermined coaching authority?

Absolutely and a great comment. You hit it out the parkSome people just hate everything Jerry has a hand in. It is important to note that they feel that Jerry has a hand in everything the franchise does… which is how we get one variety of fans who are always negative about everything. These people are Dallas fans (or used to be) but hate Jerry so much that they can’t really pull for the team to do well… although they all say they want that.
Of course there are others who are just rival fans giving negative thoughts on everything Dallas (every football forum has some variation of these people). They usually say everything Dallas does is dumb.
Those two segments make up the vast majority of fans that hate this trade, IMO.
What is funny is that most of these people, if Dallas drafts a guy in the 4th round, will say that the guy is no good because he’s just a 4th round pick. Many of them also say that you have to keep searching for the most important position (QB) every year.
Now suddenly, that 4th round pick Dallas gave for Lance is way too valuable to give for a QB, lol.
The reality is that giving a 4th for a 23 year old QB drafted 3rd overall, who is very physically talented and many just think he needs more time is a very good risk/reward at the most vital position in the sport. Frankly, I don’t really see any way to be upset about this trade. If he busts then no big deal. If he hits, it’ll be huge for the franchise no matter if he starts in Dallas or is eventually traded elsewhere.
IMO, it says more about the people who are upset at this move, than it does about the franchise making this move.
Not gonna be an extension for Dak.
Right we are just gonna eat 60 mill and pay everyone still... no need to worry..lol
This year or future years?I dont see how this improves the team
How can Trey Lance be the Cowboy's #1 QB? That draft was one of the best QB class ever. If Dallas thinks he was a #1 QB they need a scouting adjustment. He was high on the Cowboys draft board, possibly the #1 QB, so yeah....Jerry pulled the trigger.
SF at least knows when to give up on a project. Watch Jerry try to impose his will on the coaches to try and implement plays for Lance so that Jerry can look good. This is Jerry meddling again and not being a smart GM.Plus, SF invested heavily in him. How many billion dollar companies pursued him? There must be SOMETHING there! Our investment is a 4th, a FRACTION of the 9ers’ investment, but who gets the most criticism?
Yeah he does. I was at the game he dissed on the Star. He should’ve never been in s Cowboys uniform after that.I will admit I hated the TO pick up at first but in reality it was a great pick up. TO does not deserve the hate that I and other Cowboys fan have/ had for him. Kind of off topic I know.
We know McClay had a big say and I think that's what gives me confidence in the move.McClay is involved with all moves
He’s UFA after 2024.lol man again HOW? you really have no choice but to extend him or lose some pieces.. look you dont like Dak thats fine but seriously how you gonna pay that cap hit AND keep this defense?
I heard Jerry's defense and it's definitely plausible. But the body language, the tone in his voice, and most importantly, the beady little eyes suggests something much more demented and sinister.Listening to Jerry it sounded like his goal was to make the deal before SF got on the phone with someone else. There wasn’t time to talk it out like a committee. This was pure deal making, plus he would know the draft grade they had them and what coaches thought of him coming out of college. I don’t know why he’d need to talk to everybody to get a 1st or 2nd round talent to replace your 3rd string QB.
He wants Return On Investment for giving Dak 160+ million.I heard Jerry's defense and it's definitely plausible. But the body language, the tone in his voice, and most importantly, the beady little eyes suggests something much more demented and sinister.
Week 8 2025 maybe? The guy has no time at all in this offense and we’re hoping for a capable backup by next year. It’s comical you think he’s ready to swoop in to the starting job. This was a move that will hopefully pay off down the road, nothing more!He wants Return On Investment for giving Dak 160+ million.
No pro bowls and 2 pathetic playoff losses.
Time to cut bait. ( there are some who think Jerry would give Dak another deal. Lol. That would be half a Billion. For what? )
TL will be ready by week 8.
Dak will be 31 after 2024. And UFA.
It’s gonna happen.
Of course Jerry can change his mind….
Dak is under contract through 2024.Right we are just gonna eat 60 mill and pay everyone still... no need to worry..lol
Except TL spent 2 seasons with that genius HC at San Fran.Week 8 2025 maybe? The guy has no time at all in this offense and we’re hoping for a capable backup by next year. It’s comical you think he’s ready to swoop in to the starting job. This was a move that will hopefully pay off down the road, nothing more!
Ok at this point i feel like the chick in the morgue talking to will smith "You really aren't picking up what im laying down bud"... unless you want to lose some players to the cap you are going to extend Dak so there is not a 60mill hit next year...you do understand thats comming, right?Dak is under contract through 2024.
No need to do anything.
Because TL sucks.Of course Jerry can change his mind….
But why spend another 200+ million on Dak when they have TL?
That’s a TON of money.
And you have empirical evidence this is true exactly how?McClay is involved with all moves
