LOL! The last day of the draft hasn't even ended and we're already calling this draft a bust.

Maybe it wasn't an amazing draft? Maybe it'll turn into an amazing draft? Who knows.

This is like pulling the cake out of the oven after one minute and declaring it terrible. Atleast give it time to bake.

To a certain extent it will come down to coaching but I think the Cowboys should be a better team this year. Mazi Smith should improve run defense day 1. We needed a #2 corner opposite Diggs and we got that with Gilmore. We needed a #2 receiver opposite Lamb and we got that with Cooks. I think the Cowboys are gonna run quite a bit of 12 personnel with Ferguson and Schoonmaker which could work well. The Cowboys are clearly hoping Gallup will be back to his pre-injury play with another offseason. Then the main question is oline. I am hearing good things about Asim Richards and I think he could potentially plug in at LG.

I would say the defense is undoubtedly better than last year. The offense can be better depending on the oline/coaching. Didn’t mention rbs but I think Pollard, Vaughn and Jones is a good rotation.

My hope is that Dallas will somehow pull off a miracle trade and get Derrick Henry in here.

The Titans are not a contender and Henry kinda changes everything for us. Immediately makes us a legit Super Bowl contender.
How would trading Henry after the draft make any sense for the Titans? The time to do it was before the draft to get picks.

Sure we may have drafted some good players.

This draft was a total nuts and bolts draft. It’s cool we improved on a already elite NFL defense.

But…

Dallas biggest weakness was offensive playmakers and all we really did was add Brandon Cooks.

The guard spot is still weak.

I think if they go with their best 5 then that means Tyler back at guard and Tyron back at left Tackle.

I just don’t see a team as it’s currently constructed that’s competing with the Eagles for the division or the conference.

My hope is they have something up there sleeve.

It’s hard for me to believe that Ronald Jones is really going to be their #2 back.

The Cowboys are also really giving Tolbert an opportunity to shine with not giving him any real competition.

Not handing the ball off to Zeke for 2 yards and a cloud of dust 15 times a game improves the offense by omission.

Cooks improves the offense.

Schoonmaker will improve the offense.

Gilmore is an upgrade on defense at corner.

Mazi will be the best DT we have had in over a decade and help our edge rushers immensely.

Idk if the cowboys did enough to make an NFC title game. But there have been some significant changes over the off-season.

Man ...... you were so excited about Deuce ....... then a few minutes later you say we only added Cooks as an offensive weapon.

Sad

This, Cooks and Deuce for speed and the first pick and LB’s, plus heard Jed and Jethro is killing in personnel after the draft, now FA is not over but what are the front office willing to do from here.

And an overdue change on offense. Some are still actually clamoring to bring Zeke back? lol I think they took a few steps no doubt and did a very good job of addressing the issues.

I agree. However, the only metric where this defense ranks as elite is sacks. Overall, this is not top 10 defense. If Mazi is a total stud, it will certainly help lift the defense. As usual, we go into the season with many question marks , hopes, and dreams. We don't look as good on Philly or SF on paper with the NYG and Detroit closing fast.

As is the case year after year, it makes no difference what we do in the draft, because we will never win Jerry's Way, which is through the draft alone. Get a good player here and there? You bet, and then waste their career.

The draft was a colossal waste of time for you then. Because they were not going to leap frog those teams with anyone in this draft.
Leapfrog? How about just closing the gap. Is that too much to ask in an offseason? Philly didn't sit back on their super bowl laurels. They aggressively improved their team while the cowboys sit passively and fill roster holes with whoever is next on the draft board and we've been doing it for years. It's not working.

I'm happy for the Defense, and I expect it to improve. The defensive players drafted this draft will have time to develop because they're not needed to start rn.

Guys from previous drafts have to grow and develop for this team to have a chance. If the run game proves to be potent they have a chance with this Defense. Honestly, I don't trust QB1.
Pretty much agree, I think the defense will get a big boost, although it'll take a little time for it to show. Mazi Smith will be a big help in the defensive trenches, Overshown will be a strong edition to the LB core, and Fehoko is going to be impressive on the edge. I think that adds up to a strong defense that can produce more 3 & outs for their opponents. It'll take a little time, but this draft is definitely moving our defense in the right direction.
