well, I guess I will go out on a limb and say I Loved this draft/offseason and think it is one of the best ones they have had in a long time.

1) Mazi Smith -- finally an extremely strong 1T who demands a double team.
2) Schoonmaker -- Great blocking and good hands. Will be good on the 2 TE sets with Ferguson.
3) DeMarvion Overshown -- If he can play MLB and develop this is the "LVE rookie" replacement without the neck problems
4) Viliami Fehoko -- relentless pursuit and more getting after the QB
5) Asim Richards -- another OL with talent to develop
6a) Eric Scott Jr -- Good CB class, not sure why they didn't take Jalon Jones who I think was a better prospect, but good thoughts
6b) Deuce Vaughn -- playmaker, right place, right time......if he can stay healthy he can be electric
7) Jalen Brooks -- 6'2" WR in t
he 7th for depth.

So
QB) We have been set with Dak, and the guys we would have drafted late were already taken. Good none draft.
OL) Starters of Smith, Smith, Biadasz, Martin, Steele are already there, and Waletzko, Ball, Farinok, Egodba, Richards....how many do they need.
TE) Took one high and had two they were already high on.......
WR) CD, Cooks, Gallup, speed in Fehoko, did Tolbert develop, Turpin, Dennis.....and still drafted on in the 7th...
RB) Paid Pollard a ton, got Jones, drafted an electric player in Deuce, and got the big FB Luepke to come.....awesome job.

DL) Biggest need coming in, now they have Mazi, Hankins, Osa, and Gallimore\Bohanna for depth.
DE) Good grief, Tank, Armstrong, SWilliams, Fowler, drafted Fehoko, Tak......nice depth
LB) Parsons, LVE, Overshown, Clark, Cox.........descent depth here as well
S/Hybrid) Kearse, Hooker, Wilson, Mukumu, and Marquise Bell.........excellent
CB) Took one, but Diggs, and Galimore with Lewis and Bland might be the best set of corners in the league.

This is the best set of players I have seen in years-- IF they can motivate, and stay healthy, I don't see why they couldn't win it all next year. Yes a backup QB is needed, IMO. Yes there are some questions, but only questions that can be answered when they play, like health.

I really like the draft and think it will carry the to at least the NFC Championship game this year. Philly, and San Fran will still be tough. NYG are getting better. All in all though, if they develop, then they can win it all, IMO.

Think you can make an argument we got worse....

Lost Kellen....McCarthy taking over is a joke

Dallas Cowboys

Round 1, No. 26: Mazi Smith, DT (Michigan)......Ok....We needed someone in the middle....I get it. But basically your neutering Hankins and Gallimore....wasting a pick when you had bigger needs.

Round 2, No. 58: Luke Schoonmaker, TE (Michigan)....You lost Schultz....reach for this kid....Don't think you filled a need here.

Round 3, No. 90: DeMarvion Overshown, LB (Texas)....Probably taking over for Barr...But is it really that much of an improvement? Looks like more waste of draft capital.

Round 4, No. 129: Viliami Fehoko, DE (San Jose State)....What is the plan here???? Re-shirt this kid like Bradley Anae? And how did that wok out? Take snaps from D-Law...Fowler....Parsons...Sam Williams????

Round 5, No. 169: Asim Richards, OT (North Carolina)....We needed O-lineman.....not projects.

Round 6, No. 178 (from Bears through Dolphins and Chiefs): Eric Scott Jr., CB (Southern Miss)....Another dumb trade. Giving up a 5th next year so we can watch this kid sit on the practice squad? Great move Wil....

Round 6, No. 212: Deuce Vaughn, RB (Kansas State)....Talk about trying to sell jerseys....Jesus. Should have stuck with taking Hendon Hooker in the 2nd. @ least then Jerry could say he got himself a Hooker legally.

Round 7, No. 244: Jalen Brooks, WR (South Carolina)....looks like a JAG. So we haven't fixed our depth @ WR. Puts more pressure on Tolbert to have to step up.

So really...what have we done to improve?
So post your picks and we can check back and compare. Hankins is how old?? Mazi is not only a need but looks like he can push the pocket as well as stuff the run. Having a disruptive force in the middle is a huge need for this team.
Let’s what to see what this tight end is. I’m sure everyone thought when they drafted Shultz he was going to be as productive as he was.
Fehoke is going to be moved to the 3T not edge. To act like this draft was a failure one literally day one is false. We won’t know for a couple of years.

Looks like a 9-8 team to me.
You’ve said that back to back years bro.

I get it if you don’t think we’ll go far in the playoffs but to think in such a weak NFC a team like ours with a top defense goes 9-8 is just a schtick.

Get over the 9-8 dude. The team may not be elite, but they are certainly not mediocre in a weak NFC.

This may sound funny but adding Cedric Wilson would make me feel much better. If one of our top 3 WR’s go down we’re screwed.

Neutering Hankins and gallimore. Lmaoooooo. Yes the drafting of Mazi is the one thing stopping gallimore from being a good DT.
I stopped reading when he said neutering Gallimore lmaoooo. Bro been here 3 years he’s neutered himself.

Not true.

I said 8-9 last year (Dak getting injured ruined that one) and I took into account the weak NFC and gave them 9-8 this year.

We needed to get better at stopping the run and run better consistently. We definitely took steps to get better at both from the players we picked. On paper, I don't know how anyone could think we didn't do anything to improve in those areas. How they do on the field, we won't know until they actually start playing.

Lol love when someone who I know can be logical tries the technicality route. My point is you’ve been severely underselling the regular season record 3 years in a row now.

At some point we have to accept this team has taken a step to consistent regular season success. Not saying it’s a huge deal but it’s a step forward from the days your 8-9 opinion would’ve been spot on.

Spread the gospel that we won’t do anything in the playoffs fine. But the tired regular season predictions are lazy.

I think we could have just smoked crack the entire draft after the first round and we would have improved the team with just the first round pick.

I've had my share of disappointments with the Cowboys from time to time as most of us probably have, but if I saw absolutely everything about the Cowboys as horrible, hopeless and worthless as you do, I'd totally cease to be a Cowboys fan. Is extreme negativity just a pastime for you, or do you truly see the Cowboys as being as horrible as you make them sound?
Just curious.

Sure we may have drafted some good players.

This draft was a total nuts and bolts draft. It’s cool we improved on a already elite NFL defense.

But…

Dallas biggest weakness was offensive playmakers and all we really did was add Brandon Cooks.

The guard spot is still weak.

I think if they go with their best 5 then that means Tyler back at guard and Tyron back at left Tackle.

I just don’t see a team as it’s currently constructed that’s competing with the Eagles for the division or the conference.

My hope is they have something up there sleeve.

It’s hard for me to believe that Ronald Jones is really going to be their #2 back.

The Cowboys are also really giving Tolbert an opportunity to shine with not giving him any real competition.

My hope is that Dallas will somehow pull off a miracle trade and get Derrick Henry in here.

The Titans are not a contender and Henry kinda changes everything for us. Immediately makes us a legit Super Bowl contender.
I think trading for Cooks and Gilmore improved our chances. Legit No. 2 receiver and starting corner. Don't know about our running game, but not sure anything we did would be considered a step back from the end of last season when Pollard was hurt and Elliott was a shell of himself. Not saying we don't need better than that, but I'm also not sure it can get much worse.

Damn. You okay? Because you don't seem okay.

Don't mind critical thought, but the idea of critical thought isn't so simple as finding all the bad things you can imagine... rather, the idea of critical thought is to assess both downsides and upsides.

Not that you should care what I think, but this leaves the (natural) impression that you're one of those fans who thinks the rest of us believe Jerry should fire Will and hire you. Yeah, but no.
I probably put more time into the draft process....year after year... than that whole room of clowns in Dallas....And the funny thing is....I got 27 years of proof to prove it. Just look @ their results. All they care about is getting into your wallet...and keep you interested. But go ahead....defend the ineptitude.....because it makes you look stupid in the end.

we just dunno yet. Deuce added firepower.
I cringe at the thought this front office sat on their collective ***** for 3 days... thinking they were sitting on a franchise saving 6th rounder.

That thought ought to scare the crap out of anybody.... :banghead:

Nice! 27 years of proof?!! Get that gold jacket ready!

I guess I forgot, but can you remind me, what team do you GM for?
