Sure we may have drafted some good players.

This draft was a total nuts and bolts draft. It’s cool we improved on a already elite NFL defense.

But…

Dallas biggest weakness was offensive playmakers and all we really did was add Brandon Cooks.

The guard spot is still weak.

I think if they go with their best 5 then that means Tyler back at guard and Tyron back at left Tackle.

I just don’t see a team as it’s currently constructed that’s competing with the Eagles for the division or the conference.

My hope is they have something up there sleeve.

It’s hard for me to believe that Ronald Jones is really going to be their #2 back.

The Cowboys are also really giving Tolbert an opportunity to shine with not giving him any real competition.

My hope is that Dallas will somehow pull off a miracle trade and get Derrick Henry in here.

The Titans are not a contender and Henry kinda changes everything for us. Immediately makes us a legit Super Bowl contender.
The last 3 playoff losses were largely about the inability to stop the run. For the first time in a long time they finally decided to address a weakness instead of building on a strength. I also think it is indication that they know a SB is not possible if they need Dak to score 40 and throw in the ball 35 times. I do they think they need a powerback but they still have other avenues to add one.

So it was not a sexy draft but I actually do think this is a better team now.

If Dak puts points on the board San Fran is going to stop running and out the ball in the air.

When Dak is struggling there is no amount of defense that’s going to save him.

We need such a strong and explosive run game for Dak to really get the most out of him.

Without it we aren’t going anywhere with Dak as the QB.

Jerry is not spending $20 + million on the backfield.

I think the impact of not having Zeke in the offense is being under appreciated.

I don’t appreciate it at all.

A TD vulture and a short yardage guy getting 15 Carrie’s a game is ridiculous. Dude is anti- big play.

Cowboys can do better.

Our draft is whatever..

It didn’t change our team really at all.

We maybe made an elite defense even more elite? Cool..

If defense still won championship’s that would be awesome but unfortunately the rules make the game all about big plays and we didn’t improve our line much or add players that make the team more explosive.
All the offensive players that could change the complexion of this team went before we had any chance. That’s why these folks that talked about passing on Bijan and Gibbs were nuts. All the top WR’s gone. And the class was weak to begin with. Go look at the last 2 drafts. How many impact WR’s were found in round 3 and 4 ?

Buddy, the numbers dont lie. The Oline is average at best. 28th in pass blocking win rate. Running is not as bad, but not good.

Dallas has a top 10 offensive line, and it played like it in the playoffs.

Just like their receiving corp deteriorated when Dak was behind center. Players that were relevant with Cooper Rush stopped producing. Dak doesn't make anyone better and that's pretty apparent for someone making elite QB money.

Cowboys Oline is probably top 5 or even top 3.

People don’t understand how trash NFL lines are and Dallas actually has a good one.

Just because Dak holds the ball forever and Zeke’s too slow to hit a hole doesn’t mean they’re not good.

Dallas didn't get any beginning 'Giant Slayers,' but did get good mileage with the fuel and positions that it started out with on this draft. But if one is beginning to monitor both team and scheme building....oh, Nellie!

Look again now, without the burden of disappointments game relevant from last season.

I think we’ve done pretty well in FA and in draft so far compared to other years

The question is, “ How much better has our competition done”?

I agree with this. I think Cooks will help. I think Gallup will be better now that he's had another year to heal from his injury in 2021. We of course have Lamb. So, that's 3 good WRs. We now also have 3 TEs. We have Pollard and a good rookie prospect in Vaughn. Is the team perfect? No, but you can't expect every position to be perfect in the NFL. Some spots will have to be hamburger. Dak is just going to have to make what we have work on offense. He's going to have to just possess the ball, get points and not turn the ball over. Our defence should be fantastic. I am excited to see how this team plays. I also like some of our UDFA WR prospects. OTAs and TC should be fun.

NFL is a year to year business, not saying what we have done makes us a shoe in for the SB, BUT teams will rise and fall this year..I know there are posters here who are star struck by everything the eagles do but they lost some proven players and are replacing them with rooks.. no garuntee they are a carbon copy team of last year... same with the Cowboys new OC players improve/regress we will just have to see what happens.

It’s more of a build towards a window and take that time to compete. Then you go into a little bit of a down turn when that window closes. You could spend a year or 2 or even 30 trying to reopen it.

In a perfect world all 32 teams would have a legitimate shot every single year but that’s just not the case!

Its more to say teams change from year to year.. they may have the same record but achieve it in diferent ways with diferent players, injuries of course change teams outcomes yearly...again the biggest change we have is the change in OC we have no idea what MM is going to do and how he will use the personell on the roster...

Mazi should make our D more physical up front and we have several players entering their 2nd year with the team (Bland and Williams) Gilmore’s addition should help the other corner spot. We have some younger, fast LB’s that need some playing time. On Offence Cook and Gallup (2nd year from his injury) should help and Schoonmaker will replace Shultz. We will be fine!

I think your see the diference between MM scheme and KM's scheme helps with the "Dak holds the ball"..the route schemes will be diferent and waiting on 4 option routes to break open is much diferent than attacking players and spots on the field.
