I gave up on my team last night

It's all perception and I bet cha 90% of the people who know Jerry would disagree with Ms. Landry.

Hopefully one day you'll snap out of it & see Jerry for the lowlife he is.

Not much to perceive. She plainly states Jerry took away their box & their son's tickets. What a great guy that Jerry is!

When I first heard that Landry died a Giants fine I was like "really Tom? How could you?", but after reading that article I am like "really Jerry? How could you!?"

It's completely understandable that Coach Landry would have had a LOT of resentment for the new regime from Day One. I was saddened by it, but not surprised, really.

After 40 years of being a Cowboys fan, I willingly turned a game off before it finished. I have ALWAYS watched a Cowboys game to the bitter end despite the outcome. Not sure why I have always watched a game to the end even in blowouts, maybe it's been morbid curiosity in a lot of cases.

I shut it off after the Cowboys last series of the 3rd quarter and did not think about it afterwards. Woke up this morning and didn't bother looking at the final score or box score. Did the Cowboys make a furious comeback? So far this morning, I have not bothered to check.

Am I depressed? No I think the word is apathetic at this point.

Now at some point today, I will check that box score, and I will read about the game, and I will start to look forward to the Cowboys-Packers game.

Something changed with me and my fan relationship with the Cowboys last night.

Welcome to the club, you're only about 1 year tardy so not to bad. This team has given up on us more times than I can count. This is not the team we all chose to be our favorite. This team is full of gutless, heartless, soft, stupid losers and that is pointed at everyone. They cannot escape it because its the culture Jerry has created. Get drafted, play halfway decent, and get rewarded with a huge contract that will be structured in such a way that they can't cut you for a few years no matter what. Human nature takes over at that point and no one lives up to their contract. All that's left to do is not spend one red cent that finds its way into Jerry's pocket. No Sunday Ticket, no trips to the games, no Cowboys merchandise, no nothing. That may not seem as though it will accomplish anything but it sure has made me feel a lot better about myself for the past year. I made that decision after Romo was given $100 million even after blowing another week 17 game last year. That was my last straw and I started by canceling Sunday Ticket about 15 minutes after the contract was announced. I can't wait for the day when changes are made and I can once again feel good about cheering for the Cowboys. One last thought. I have been saying it for years and I think its still is true, the only person currently working for, coaching, or playing for the Cowboys that even has a remote possibility of being with the team the next time they hoist the Lombardi Trophy is Stephen Jones and that's only if he finds a way to keep the team when Jerry dies which is probably unlikely due to tax laws. Think about that for a minute and if you agree, think about all the time you will be wasting for who knows how long. There simply is no chance at all with these players and the culture Jerry has created that will continue to produce the same exact kind of players.

I cancelled my subscription to the weekly, I don't buy anything anymore wont go to any of the games, Jerry has to get a real GM and move over this is disgusting we are gonna have the worst D in NFL history, I mean we that Zim was bad I would take him and Campo any day they had no talent and did better then this sad excuse of a team

Me and Emmitt called the Cowboys garbage the other night Im glad he feels the same way I DO !!!!

I don't think all the information is in on that event. But again no doubt Ms. Landry is a fine lady.

How does that matter? Jerry's already got your money; he doesn't care if you walk out at halftime. What needs to happen is NOT BUY IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. Let the place be empty when the game starts. But even that wouldn't help....the opposing team's fans would probably snap up the tickets and Jerry still has a smile on his face.

He doesn't really care if you buy anything or not as he already has all that TV money that dwarf's any other monies he might get from fans. He wins even when he loses.

I'm with the OP and a lot of others on here. Not only have I willingly turned off multiple games this year but twice now I have all but ignored the team between games (after NO and Chicago), which is unheard of for me. This is the first I have even thought of the Cowboys. I haven't lined up today's game on the DVR, either. I may skip it entirely.

And, like the OP said, it's not really anger or frustration or anything else. It's apathy.

This organization has lost the right to expect I'll care.

I admit to the same feelings as others here. The joy is gone - I hope to win but I'm not even sure why anymore. The endless line of average coaches coaching average teams has worn me down. I guess I'll watch the game today as long as I can stand to, but I don't expect to win. I don't expect us to make the playoffs, and if we do it won't really matter anyway. I hope we hire a college guy to take over the team next year just because I don't want anymore retreads like Phillips, Parcells, etc. Fresh blood and some youthful enthusiasm. If Garrett is the coach next year, I'll just play golf on sundays instead...

cut my posting in half this week and only watched one talkin' cowboys. no idea who's been hurt, who's been benched, who's been cut, and what new scrub has been brought in for this packers game. don't care if we lose or win. i'm ready for this season to be over.

I said the same thing for 4 decades
Well each "fan" to his own. It's not in me to ever quit or give up no matter if it's now or 50 years from now. Is like a marriage when I committed myself to being a fan of Americas Team it was for better or for worst, good or bad till death do us part.

But that's just me

LOL, .. I have a tear in my eye.

Maybe, just maybe if your spouse cheated on you every Sunday afternoon, .. you might, you might feel a little different about that analogy.

Nope wife has cheated on me and i'm still married. I make a commitment I stay with it but like I said that's just me. That's what being a fan means to me. Say what you want but nothing will change how I feel about my Cowboys
