Myth. If Jerry really wanted, he could afford Suh. And Murray. And Dez. The salary cap is organic, it can be manipulated. Contracts can be renegotiated, money can be pushed back. The author concludes that Suh to Dallas is a fantasy but his own words do not support it.

Suh could have a cap hit of 7m next year on a 6/96m deal with a 30m signing bonus
Murray could have a cap hit of 3m on a 4/28m deal with 10m signing bonus
Dez could have a cap hit of 5m cap hit on a 7/91m deal with a 20m signing bonus

That equals 15m, which is only 2m more than Dez' franchise tag

LatinMind posted the talking cowboys update and Broaddus said they don't want Dez longterm and get stuck like AZ & Houston have ....
I got a good feeling on this .... Such is coming to Dallas.

HAHAHA that is not at all what the article said. But ok

I think Suh is a popular pipe dream that many fans like to think about. I'm betting we won't sell out on being able to afford the improvements the rest of our defense will require. I think both Jerry and Stephen will see eye to eye on that issue. We simply have too many needs on defense to overtax our resources on one player. Sad but true.

Hey now. LOL. I can do what most cowboys fans do and talk about history. Would you like me to go there sir? ;) just for the record. It is our game. Hence this thing called the olympics ;)

I could talk hockey with the best of them. Played and love the sport. Canada is hockey, got me there.

I smell a smokescreen here...I see ground work being laid out ...

Carr not cut but payout and moved ...

Franchise Dez no long term

Whispers of a restructure of Tyron Smith contract which btw is a fantastic deal for us ...

Then there's Marinelli ...and the display Suh put on in JJ World ...JJ was a droolin' watching that ...

A rare Dallas front office silence ...cards close to the vest unlike last year when we knew what Jarred Allen had for dinner while in Texas ....

Oh and there's also this from IMO the most credible and classy writer in Dallas - -

I liked the way you framed your post.
It read like a movie trailer...

In a world... One Front Office... Has what it takes...
To rise up... *Cue the Mortal Kombat music*
And challenge the NFL...
For...
*Loud Mortal Kombat music*
Suh-premacy!!!

No way dallas could afford him.

They can it's just dicy to invest that much in one guy especially when you've already done it for a franchise qb and have a wr and rb to go. If it were JJ Watt all of sudden it's real doable.

Not signing one of the best DL in the league when he shockingly becomes available is not "the right way".

Depends on what he is looking for cash wise. The cowboys have over paid a few players in the past that didn't work out.
You don't win throwing money all over the place.

The patriots threw about 10-13 million at Revis last year. Of course, it was a 1 year deal...but it proves that great players win. If it is me, given the state of this team and our needs...i go all in and do what it takes to get this guy. Then go conservative the rest of the way.
