The patriots threw about 10-13 million at Revis last year. Of course, it was a 1 year deal...but it proves that great players win. If it is me, given the state of this team and our needs...i go all in and do what it takes to get this guy. Then go conservative the rest of the way.

They were one player away as they proved. Our defense has many holes and what if they stay healthy. I'm not against it, I just don't see it happening.

Depends on what he is looking for cash wise. The cowboys have over paid a few players in the past that didn't work out.
You don't win throwing money all over the place.

When is the last time an elite pass rusher became available in his prime? Last I recall was Reggie White and we know how he transformed that Packers defense from average to championship caliber. Suh's impact would be felt immediately on a contender like Dallas, especially coupled with an all ready high powered offense. Miami's D would become elite but its offense does not have enough to take it very far in its own division, let alone the league championship.

If both Suh and Dallas are serious about contending for a ring next season, then this is a match made in heaven.

I agree, I just don't know if the guy that signs the checks does. From what they are saying, they wouldn't. Of course what they say and do.............

It was 12 million with a backloaded option year that made it look like the 16 he wanted similar to the Melton contract. I doubt Suh would go for a short term deal like that much less that cheap (12)

They can it's just d invest that much in one guy especially when you've already done it for a franchise qb and have a wr and rb to go. If it were JJ Watt all of sudden it's real doable.

He'b at least 10-15 mil a year probably. Theyd have no money to sign a tackle. Theyd only have like 12-17 mil left to sign fa's and rookies.

Actually if it were only 10-12 they would do it. You don't really have a good handle on the cap and what they can do with it. Melton would be getting 9 this year had he played a lot better.

Doesnt suh want like 20 million? All Ive seen is dallas can get to 32 mil under the cap but is down to 28.5 mil now with bease signed. Im not a cap guru though.

That was my point 10-12 would be jumped on.
I think it's been reported 17-20. But he has to take what the market sets anyway.

I would give Dez 60 Mill guaranteed way before I thought of giving it to Suh, he's an Albert Haynesworth waiting to happen...

Mario Williams.

Not the best comparison. Mario Williams was coming off injury and his previous 3 seasons averaging 7.5 sacks. Mario was not even considered the best (or top 2) at his position (OLB) at the time either. He was good but he did not have Suh like impact.

Different situation. Haynesworth didn't have big contracts before his 100 million. Such has played under a big contract most of his career.

Less likely to take his foot off the gas.
