Lol I have no faith in this staff at all. Just look at the end of the '11, '12, '13 seasons. I won't let them fool me again.

A lot of us don't forget those things. We either reject the assessment, or we keep the mistakes in context. For example, the blown challenge this week was undeniably a bad challenge. That doesn't change the fact that the team has been generally really efficient with it's challenges under Garrett. Penalty dismay? Not sure what that means, but setting aside any correlation between winning and losing relating to penalties, we just haven't been victimized all that badly by them. (We're 10th in the league in penalties called, and 18th in penalty yardage against this year, if anybody's interested).

I don't know how you're measuring the 'general lack of execution at a given time when leadership is needed' so it's hard to debate that. My guess is that you're talking here about the times you're annoyed that a play didn't turn out right. That stuff all just falls into the tub of 'stuff I'm going to blame on the coach when the outcome is not what I want or expect.'
Some of that stuff might actually be on the coaches, but not all of it is. Deciding which is which isn't going to happen when the natives are as restless as they are this week, though, that's for sure.

Leadership is making the difficult decision.....oh we cut Randle(whom they knew was facing a suspension I'm sure of). Why not make an example of an untouchable? You don't think #68 or #82 or #39 or ## duplicate the same damn penalties every game? Which leads to accountability, which I'm sad to say is bordering on Wade levels around Valley Ranch. All the little distractions add up....

I dare anyone..... To give me an example of an in game decision that lead to something positive from our staff. Other than handing the rock #29 last year constantly. Belichick staff is the master at this... Making in game adjustments. Anyone???
If you guys think this staff is going to out plan & out coach another team...... Then God help you all.

Oh there will be bloodshed... Garrett probably will not be one of them... To me it doesn't matter much either way, but I can see the merit of not totally changing both offensive and defensive systems.

I think Linehan could be the odd ball out. I recall after our Atlanta game Jerry praising Kyle Shanahan and how he uses Jones.......Probably reading too much into it.

We can win with this staff as is. Call me the eternal optimist but don't forget this same staff (sans Callahan) is one year removed from almost going to a SB. I know Callahan was a big lose to this OL, but an offensive Asst this offseason can be found to assist with play-calling and OL...what's Sporano doing these days?? Draft D heavy (S, DT, LB) and RB early....QB in mid to later rounds....2 years left with Tony and let's roll!

CBs next year - Mo, Byron, and O Scan

S - Draft (maybe Jalen Ramsey?) Church

LBers - Lee, McClain or draft, Hitchens, Wilson or draft

DL - DE Lawrence/Gregory DTs Irving and Crawford other DE maybe draft Bosa??

OL is the same except replace Free with Chaz

WRs - Dez, Beasley, Williams and draft

RBs - McFadden again with Dunbar back and draft a high RB in 2nd or 3rd...

If....a BIG IG....healthy next year, that team is 12-4 or 13-3 and wins a SB next season...

What? haha

Likely, and frustratingly so.

The biggest investment the franchise has in Jason is Jerry's pride. Jerry's invested a lot of time in teaching Jason how to be a HC in the NFL. Firing Jason reflects as poorly on the student as it does the teacher.

I'm with you bro. But what did Jerry teach JG about being a head coach? Other than instructing Jason to say "okay" or "yes sir" when Jerry gives him orders all day.

He'd have let him go last offseason had the team not delivered.

Jerry's not keeping the wrong guy around just because he's too proud to let him go. I can't believe anybody actually believes that.

Drink much? So basically you think the exact same team that is a year older is gonna just flip a switch....and boom..... fixed. Gotcha

The truth is we can win because of talent despite the obvious lack of creativity and the inability to make adjustments and out scheme our opponents.

He should have let him go after 2013, and i think that was related to pride. But not firing him this year will have as much to do with money than anything else.

And I think you're wrong about that, too. This organization thinks Jason's a good coach. That's why they've kept him around, even if they thought he needed improvement in some areas. When they think there's a significantly better coach available for this situation, they'll move on, and the coaches' salaries won't be the hurdle.

So the GM/owner thinks he did a good job picking this coach....wow...color me amazed. Whose the fool...the fool or the person who follows the fool.

Yeah, the problem hasn't been the coaching. Everything understandably gets blamed with the season we've had, but we've got to be careful what we do to fix the things that are actually broken from here on out.

We've got years to look at. Forget about just this year.

These coaches don't maximize talent and with the way the NFL is set up today having coaches that run this type of system is putting us at a huge disadvantage.

That was the only point I was making in this particular thread.

We can debate why I think Jerry's right in this case later. But I dont think there ought to be any doubt that JG has the support of the organization even if the fans don't like it. And it's because of his work and not because Jerry has a big ego.
