The thing I read Cowboys were pretty much offering him that but the hang-up Dak only wanted a 3 year deal and Cowboys balked they wanted longer term.
In my view I understand the Cowboys know they will have to pay more in 3 years but I look at this as a 3 year and he don't get better gives you an out.

I like that deal. Also gives us 3 years to find his replacement, if necessary.

Cowboys didn't like it what I have read !!! Now I think dollars are coming into the equation because the cap is suppose to increase and a new CBA
so if they want to sign Dak him and his agent is wanting to be paid like its after the cap is increased and after the new CBA and well Jerry is like hold
them horses there Cowboys we don't even know those figures yet and your wanting to be compensated like we know them already. This is the hang-up.

In Dallas Dak has been coddled and never made to compete, so it's not really a surprise that he quit on the 2019 season so easily but still expects to be paid big money.
I think if Dak has to play anywhere else but Dallas he will be out of the NFL within 4 years.

Agreed. BUT, some of these agents have their own agendas and trying to squeeze every last concession out of a team is not always in the players interest. Some players are more assertive in these matters like DLAW apparently. I wonder if his agent told him to use the shoulder surgery as a pressure tactic.

I'm honestly so frustrated with this team and it's entitled players that I can really care less who stays or goes anymore. Cleaning house in the coaching department has been a great start. I said at the end of our season that I wished we could just wipe the slate clean of all players and coaches and start over like an expansion team. Derek Carr has the same number of game winning drives as Dak since 2016. Both have 14. And Carr has 13 4th qtr comebacks to Dak's 8.

Russell Wilson has 15 game winning drives and 12 4th qtr comeback since 2016.

Only in Dallas would a quarterback who loses half his games be coddled to the extent that he thinks he should be one of the highest paid players in the NFL.
I hope the Cowboys offer him the non-exclusive tag and another team offers him more, and he gets to see what playing for another team is like.

You want to pay 30+ mil to Dak? Or are you just saying if he goes to the right team he could win a ring?

By my count hes middle 10. 10-20th best qb. Not top 10. Not Bottom 10.

You could argue all types of things, but to me he is about 12-15. How much do you pay the middle ranked qbs in the NFL?

Top 10- in no particular order
Brees, Mahomes, Rogers, Brady, Jackson, Wilson, Watson, Ryan, Wentz, Big Ben

Second 10- in no order(FWIW this group is the upside tier, but not the top tier)
Allen, Goff, Cousins, Tannehill, Dak, Mayfield, Stafford, Jones, Murray

Now, I would love to know what MM thinks. And if he believes in Dakota, he might make something of him.
Offense will have easier reads and throws. But I dont think Dak can deliver the goods in a precision timing based offense.
I think Dak is a good guy, leader of men and gives you everything he has every game. But at the end of the day, he can't make all the throws, is too inconsistent, and I think paying him a boat load of money is insane.

This team was loaded. He had great stats, but not many W's. Alot of that was on him.

We all saw how it went down
We saw the errant throws, how he threw the ball into the ground on 4th down, and how the interceptions picked up vs the good teams, giving them the ball in scoring position and adding to the losses.
We saw how the Cowboys were dead on offense down the stretch after their first score of each game, and how Dak racked up impressive stats when the game was already out of reach.
We saw these things, and stats don't matter.
