I Just Don't See A Huge Gap Between Dak and Rush

…Between Dak without use of his legs and Rush. Dak still might be better but they don’t seem that different.

Rush started awful, but he also has game snaps equivalent to a rookie in the NFL, and he has improved every week. He throws some dirt balls and frustratingly behind players on routes, but so does Dak. He makes some stupid throws but so does Dak.

It’s only my eyeball opinion. Curious what others think
The gap is $57 mil a year.

Lance is better than Rush. Lance has a lot of potential.

what potential? he has been in the league for 4 years and people still are arguing about his potential. that alone should tell you all you need to know.
He clearly has more potential.

If you don’t see it then don’t talk football anymore.

Well, for one thing, Dak can throw the ball more than 20 yards without a three second hang time.

Because the geriatric making decisions is an idiot.
Getting rid of a 2nd Team All-Pro QB without a good replacement available = the key to winning a SB?

Anti-Dak Cult logic. You people know NOTHING about football.

You can't even think about getting rid of Dak unless you have someone in the building who you think can be the franchise QB after Dak. Wake up.

If Trey Lance had panned out, you'd maybe get your wish.

He clearly has more potential.

If you don’t see it then don’t talk football anymore.
if you see potential then you don't understand how football works.
perhaps watching Olympics is more suited for your level of understanding.

Superman compared to Jimmy Olsen.
That is an astronomically bad exaggeration. There have never been quarterbacks in existence (or ever will) where that comparison can be made.

Jimmy Olsen may be an apt description. Superman? Have you ever read a Superman comic book? Watched a Superman movie? What about a Super Friends cartoon?

Better comparison: Captain America (Steve Rogers) and Bucky (before he became The Winter Soldier). Perhaps a more relatable non-comics comparison is Rambo and that idiot sheriff who persecuted him.

This has been your favorite neighborhood comic book geek, DallasEast, signing off. EXCELSIOR!

Did we all forget that Dak was runner up in the MVP voting just a season ago? Yes, Dak wasn't good this year, but Cooper Rush is a back up for a reason. He is not, and never will be as good as Dak. The reason the cowboys started winning games was because they found a running game, got some good special teams plays and the defense started creating sacks/turnovers. It wasn't because Rush was carving up defenses.

Dak likes to hold onto the ball and extend plays.
Dak likes to throw longer than 15 yards in the air.
Dak has an arm that can throw deep outs.
Dak likes to take longer presnap making adjustments.
Dak takes many more risks on throws.

Really the only thing this thread do is allow people to self report they have no idea what they are talking about. Still wondering how one is supposed to get the ball out quickly and go through multiple reads every snap.

Dak didn't get any first place votes. All but one went to Jackson with the only other going to Allen, but keep bragging on that participation trophy.

Dak takes way too many sacks holding the ball too long because he can't read a defense.

Dak has a noodle arm and had the worst deep ball this last season. He was also wildly inconsistent on basic check down throws.

Dak can't throw any deep ball these days. His arm is shot worse than his legs.

Dak takes too long in presnap because he can't read a defense.

Dak throws way too many picks because he can't read a defense and throws too many risky passes.

Your last paragraph is a master class in hypocrisy.

The thread is about there being no difference between the two and your response is basically "Dak is worse" which of course is still a difference.

Thanks for the self report while tilting at windmills.

DRAFT A QB, A GOOD QB.
Looking at what Bo Nix has done in Denver, can someone tell me how extending Prescott was a good idea? Let's face it, the team as it is built today isn't winning because of Dak Prescott. In fact as far as players that move the needle are concerned he isn't even in the top 10 players on the Cowboys that affect the game. We have seen this several times over the last several years where Prescott gets injured but the team keeps winning. I'd say as far as players on offense are concerned critical pieces on the OLine and CeeDee are the people who make the offense operate. No CeeDee or neutralize him and the offense fails. Offensive line is having a bad day, offense fails. Prescott being available or not available isn't going to make much of a difference in either case. See the GB game for more evidence.

Dak has been in the league for 9 years.

Rush has been in the league for 8 years.

Do you think 31 other GMs, coaches and coordinators see Rush on Dak's level with their eyeball tests? If so, why haven't any of them snatched Rush off of the practice squad where he spent a bulk of his career?
31 other GM's look at that and say that Dak isn't 58 million dollars more talented than Cooper Rush. Hell his one attribute that set him above Rush was his ability to run and now that's gone. No one is saying Rush is a starting QB or a franchise QB. They are saying that Dak Prescott is neither of those things.
