So you don't think linemen can block better if they hold? Why do you think the phrase is called "get off blocks." It's code for "get away from being held!"It's annoying dealing with blaming the refs, the refs had nothing to do with the run D
Yeah you have guys who think they have to protect the refs then you have guys who don’t want to look like a homer. At the end of the day bad calls are bad calls. We sometimes benefit from them. Yesterday it hurt us. We aren’t good enough to overcome them.Exactly. And in this case there were 4 or 5. Everyone knows it but some will not admit it.They think they have to protect the refs in order to not seem bias.
Not saying we would have won the game. But it Could have been a more competitive game.
I mean if you’re holding and it’s not getting called that’s an edge. It's annoying dealing with blaming the refs, the refs had nothing to do with the run D
This is text book holding.
Come on playboi!!!I mean if you’re holding and it’s not getting called that’s an edge.
You think he stumbled or lost his footing there? Is there a reverse angle to this? It's hard to tell here. I don't see the OL yank Parsons here. Parsons tries to change direction for a straighter shot at Carr and everyone is looking at the action of Parsons dipping and assuming a yank down but I look at the OL to see if his arm yanks back on Parsons. I don't see that it does so I'd want to see the hand on Parsons to see any yanking action there. Parsons stumbling or losing footing doesn't automatically equal a hold. Didn't see Parsons turn to the ref to complain either.
If you want to say we lost because we got outplayed I’m cool with that but if you want to tell me those missed calls they led to scoring touchdowns didn’t hurt us? I don’t know about that.Come on playboi!!!
The whole first quarter the refs handed them at least 14-21 points. They picked up a flag for PI on Lamb. It was uncatchable because he was held. Then called out O-Line for nothing. The 70 yard bomb only happened because they held Parsons and walked him past the qb. Did it right in front of the refs and no call.Exactly you had guyton get a ticky tackle and then on that big bomb that touchdown they literally held Micah and we don't get the same call I mean it's literally almost in back-to-back series how can they miss it on him and call that one on guyton which was barely a tug he didn't hold him like you know WWE or anything. I'm talking about Rico dowdo's face mask call I mean there was a lot of pass interference they were allowing there corners that just flat out grab our guys after the five yard mark and they were pushing and shoving and yet we got every ticky tack call you can think of and they screwed us on the record field goal last week by mishandling the clock why does this **** seem to happen to us more often than any other team and maybe it's just because I watch our team it just feels like that...
I know I've been watching Twitter and I see a lot of Ravens fans the last two weeks saying they've gotten screwed by the rest and that's the only reason they're winless so there's gonna be some angry ball being played next week....
I watched it afterwards but fast forward through the replays to watch it quicker. I remember the announcers mentioning the Cowboys not getting a call but didn't go back to see what it was. I knew it'd be here after we lost though, lol. The Guyton one I saw him yank a guy with outstretched arm.Oh he put the video up but why do you need a video if you actually watched the game I remember it in real time I remember it like it just happened it's gonna remain even brother we're just talking about the flow of the game it affected the game it may not affect the outcome we may still have lost but you can't call one on Guyton and then not call one on Parsons when it would've come back a touchdown.. And here we are talking about Parsons on a separate thread like he didn't do enough well maybe he got tired of trying whenever he's not getting calls...
I guess LBs are allowed to face guard also, cause no chance their LB even attempted to get his head turned around on one of our earlier pass attempts. The announcer even said they probably won't call it on a LB. OK..I guess. I thought it was a penalty, but I must not know.A lot of missed calls in this game for sure...
If you're not mentally tough to overcome bad calls that you KNOW are part of every game (because 7 refs can never totally monitor 11 matchups) then you're in the wrong profession. They're part of every game, not just ours. Mental toughness counts. You cannot ignore the reality of how deflating it is as a player to be playing an opponent who is kicking your butt AND notice you're getting screwed by the refs. I am in no way excusing the guys for laying down but I am saying I do not find it all that hard to understand when it happens. You cannot get pressure on the QB if the opponent can blatantly hold you and if you cannot get pressure on a QB like Carr he will eat you alive. We knew that going in.. But that's what I talk about when I talk about this team's lack of mental toughness. When you feel like you're getting screwed you don't throw up your hands and complain to the refs.. you find a way.. Not saying it's easy because it absolutely isn't but that's what it takes. Take out your frustrations on the guy in front of you. If it draws a flag so be it but if I was a receiver and a DB was basically playing 1960's bump and run against me because the ref won't call it he would find himself getting snatched down Michael Irvin style a few times. Let's find out how serious they are about "lettin 'em play." Same with Parsons.. if guys are going to hold him he has GOT to learn some karate chop moves and break a few wrists.. Or take advantage of them wanting to pull him in close with a nice head butt or an occasional punch up under the chin strap. It may not stop it but it will damn sure slow it down.
What's really annoying is those who argue that "good teams overcome the refs." While that might be true to some extent the talent differential in the NFL is paper thin so one sided calls can absolutely turn the tide and once turned you got one team playing with supreme confidence while the other is scratching their heads.. At that point the damage is done.. I guarantee you if the Cowboys and Saints played 10 times it might be a 5-5 split. The teams are not that far apart.. The fact that the refs found their flags on Cowboys big plays and kept them hidden on the Saints was more than enough to turn this game into what it was... a total beatdown. The whole first quarter the refs handed them at least 14-21 points. They picked up a flag for PI on Lamb. It was uncatchable because he was held. Then called out O-Line for nothing. The 70 yard bomb only happened because they held Parsons and walked him past the qb. Did it right in front of the refs and no call.
Tolbert makes a contested catch with one arm and was clearly interfered with but no flag. I saw them do it all game and no calls. But they were calling ticky tack calls on us that extended there drives.
They got away with holding all game. But our Defense was clearly out matched. We have to use Parsons to play the ball instead of rushing the qb all day. The first series he was playing the ball and it took the refs to help them to the td.
How there wasn't a flag thrown on that play was beyond me.
Overcoming 1 or 2 bad calls is one thing.. Overcoming the other guy being able to completely ignore the rules for 60 snaps is a whole nother ball o wax. The former is part of every game.. the latter absolutely is not.If you're not mentally tough to overcome bad calls that you KNOW are part of every game (because 7 refs can never totally monitor 11 matchups) then you're in the wrong profession. They're part of every game, not just ours. Mental toughness counts.
I don't wanna be right, it just happens to be that way most of the time. Just call 'em like I see them. We get shafted by calls. We also benefit. It evens out all the time if the victim mentality doesn't take over. But when you're biased and accuse refs of bias at the same time, there's an actual name for that psychological maneuver.Since when this isn't Twitter alright come on dude you don't wanna have a real discussion because you don't realize what we're trying to say we wanna make a point you just wanna be right there's a whole different thing when you're having a debate go look at it again... If this bothers you delete your account and just go use Twitter Twitter affects the way I can respond for sure
Yeah I was starting to doubt he was ever going to take that next step but that catch showed me he's ready. The way he fan by the DB on a straight 9 route to get a step on him then to be able to come back on the underthrown ball was impressive enough. That he came down with it with all that contact was just stoopid.Tolbert has definitely shown some good flashes. If he can continue to grow, he could definitely be an integral part of the offense. That was a damn nice catch
Yeah Brooks falling coming out of break in that situation was inexcusable. The offense was moving and if we get that score there it's 28-20 and we got ourselves a ballgame. Instead it becomes 35-13 (why the hell didn't he go tag the guy down?) That's got to give the coaching staff doubts about HIS readiness for prime time.I want Tolbert targeted more no question . I also want to see Ryan Flournoy activated and if need bevmake Jalen Brooks inactive.
