The smart ones do…
I’ll bet you’ll be wearing your cowboys merchandise proudly at the beginning of next season and then hide it out of sight after they lose again in another disappointing season.

Saw a whole bunch of people wearing caps, jerseys etc… prior to the game with GB
Been a week… haven’t seen a single cap or anything cowboys…

So buy JJ’s stories, cause he’s laughing all the way to the bank.
Don't buy a thing...watch and pay attention to a further building process and what improves as well as what doesn't. Not if black label is in use by Jerry.

@Jake How many decades does it take?

For SF it is 3 decades.
For Detroit it is a bunch more than 3 decades. Same with a handful of other teams.
For the Ravens it is 1.2 decades.
San Francisco is the top team for cost effectiveness and production.

Baltimore is the number two in the NFL for cost effectiveness and productions.

But the third best in the entire NFL is the Dallas Cowboys. The rest of the NFL is below their level.

At least know what you have here and now.

Well apparently they take it a lot more often then they don’t bc they have drafted very very well of late
I think people started repeating how brilliant McClay is that they started believing themselve. Look at the last few drafts, Sam Williams, Jaylon Smith, Kelvin Joseph, and now Schooner. We've had what, one good 2nd round pick in the last few years? We have Diggs, good pick. Rest are all busted or busting. Sooooo, repeatedly missing on 2nd round picks is brilliant drafting?

I wasn’t specifically referencing this year’s roster. Just any given year in the future. With the current salary cap, almost every team has areas of weakness. But I agree with you, they have to find a way to shore that up going into next year.
Other teams don't have huge areas filled by grossly undertalented players. People have repeated this other team's weaknesses so much they've bought into it and use it as a ready excuse. Look at the teams left. How many of them have 4 S's playing over 50% of the snaps? How many of them have zero starting quality LB's playing? How many of them have a tweener starting at DT?

Turn that statement around now. You are only as strong as your weakest link. Are these other teams' weaknesses as weak as ours? The answer: Not even close.

The bottom line is easy: not one NFL team outside of Dallas would hire Jerry as GM or Stephen as Director of Player Personnel.

They've won 4 wild card games in 28 years. They'd have been fired a couple decades ago.

But I'm sure they'll figure it out this offseason.
Well it took Jeruh how long to figure out and reconcile with Jimmy Johnson? Jeruh is a salesman and he has sold himself to believe he is a legit GM.

You are drilling down into their biggest weakness, the devastating impact and comparing that to the teams left in the playoffs. Which I completely agree with, btw. Coaches and scheme matter too when maximizing strengths while limiting exposure to your weakness. Their vulnerabilities in all of their huge losses were consistent all year long and unfortunately that included coaching.

I agree. I think for me it was easier going 5-11 than this. This builds false hope and the letdown is severe. Well it has been the last 3 years. Next year I’ll know it’s bogus and go on vacation WC weekend.

We’ve maxed out at 12-5 with no playoff success. With no playoff success I’d rather be 4-13 or 5-12 but building a new core of players for the future. This running it back crap is worthless and I hope we bottom out next year with this core to force a rebuild.
I honestly enjoyed the 1 and 15 team because of the walker trade and the sense we were building something special with a future.
With the current GM , I know we are never winning the SB, so I feel hopeless.

Jerry loves you though. I bet he would send you a nice jersey for a couple hundred if you would ask.

By 1990 you actually could see the team improving. Didn't know exactly what we were going to get but it was quite a ride. There is no hope now. We're going to be stuck in mediocrity until we're all dead. Hoping we get lucky one year is all we got and after this year I don't even think we have that anymore.

Hire this coach! Draft this player! Sign this free agent!

It doesn't matter.

Every player and coach who have passed through this organization for the last 28 years, most of whom you now hate because they failed to achieve the ultimate goal, were hired/signed by the general manager (Jerry) and director of player personnel (Stephen).

And guess what, they will hire/sign the next ones, too. Why? Because they gave themselves jobs-for-life.

Blame Dak like you blamed Romo, then blame the next QB. Blame Garrett and McCarthy, whatever you need to do. They're all symptoms of the disease.

As long as the cancer calls the shots, it doesn't matter.

Be glad for a 12 win season and an occasional wild card win, because that's as good as it gets. They have shown us their ceiling. How many decades does it take?

I've never been glad for "winning regular seasons", in the 60's, 70's, 80, of 90's, and beyond...
Only getting to NFC Championships, and getting to SB's mean ANYTHING to me.
I will NOT be glad for a 12 win season!! Means nothing with Dak, the playoff dud in the house!!!

When the owner is the GM, he has no accountability because he will never fire himself.

OK, let’s assume this is true. Do you think different QBs would have gotten better results against the 49ers two years in a row in playoffs?
I can’t speculate that question. The personnel was different.

Study leadership principals and player accountability. All has to function fully on a team level, That takes management principals in application. This includes explanation of roles in an environment of changing schemes and applicatios. It's not an easy process,

Talent levels aren't a matter of wishing it done. Today's NFL demands the ability to limit an opponents passing attack; producing with one's own passing game; and belng able to control an opponent defensively either in the passing game or the run. Then one can at least gamble for momentums.

Being able to pass at a high level and defend passes strongly and that team has a general advantage.

Dallas has a strong passing game and at the start of next season, a very potent cornerback group possible. That has to be retained and in cost effective manner as well. That has to be done by the now present team. No second guessing to it, to take another step beyond this season.

A strong linebacker can be added and used as well.
2 strong and physical LBs and a monster in the middle

I was already laughing at us in the 1st quarter.

My buddy was explaining to me at halftime how Dak would pile up 400 yds of O and people would claim he had a good game. Just pure, sad, entertainment!!!!
I called this game midway in the second quarter. I just didn't feel we were coming back
