2 words......jones boys !I understand our free agent philosophy of not spending big. But why not explore the trade market more aggressively. NE traded its 2nd rounder for DE Kony Ealy and CAR's 3rd rounder. That's 8 spots for a former second round DE who was a terror in the Super Bowl. I realize he's only averaged 5 sacks per year, but he is young, at a position of need, and has a cap hit of only $800K this year (free agent next year). Just wondering why we are not more creative on the trade front?
I guess that you forgot that Jerry traded H.Walker and it lead to 3 Super Bowls.
This is a like for sure. Good job sirA skilled GM can pull those kinds of moves.
Do I need to go any further?
There was no chance he was being cut anywayMissed that it guaranteed on the third day. There was basically no chance he was cut before now its less then zero.
NE is a coaching/FO machine. If NE has a need, they find veteran "misplaced" players who have still have ability and a team winning mentality. They evaluate players who will buy in and coach them up (back to their potential ability) to make them an assets to the team. If they pan out, they stay. If not, they let them go early on not wasting time.I understand our free agent philosophy of not spending big. But why not explore the trade market more aggressively. I think we are trying this methodology however we have some kinks in our machine which is evaluating vets that fit, our "coach up" ability and our FO mentality to efficiently keep or let players go.
