Again, thank you for your service. Even if it was dad
Please. You and the many who served are heroes. I was a fortunate kid who grew up in a family blessed to be in the military. And, I was taught respect for others and appreciation for sacrifice. God bless you and the many who served and continue to serve today.

Tom Landry built this team and made them champions.

Jerry hasn't built anything but maintained mediocrity.

That's quite a big of sugar. Whatever helps you sleep. Tom Landry built a good team. Jerry built the NFL lol. I could care less about Jerry Jones but I'm not dumb enough to think Jerry hasn't ever built anything haha...duuumb

The ship has sailed, brother. It is not coming back. After Jerry is Little Jerry.

Don't think I mentioned a game loss. Maybe read thoroughly before posting
still an obvious way to further rip the team and whine and cry.. we have many of those open post under it.. didn't need a new spotlight cryfest!!

I’ve been following the Cowboys since 1962. I believe I’ve only missed watching a handful of games in that time. Thinking back to the early days, the face of the Cowboys was always Coach Landry. We didn’t see the owner or hear from him on every team issue. Tom Landry took care of all that… and that was that! The fans were brutal in those days too. I remember fans and sportscasters saying the Cowboys were a soft, finesse team, not tough enough to win against Green Bay or Pittsburgh. According to Cowboys detractors, they were very talented but not tough enough to win a championship. Then the ’72 Superbowl happened and later, the ’78! The Cowboys set a lot of winning records in the 60’s and 70’s.

Later, the face of the team became Jimmy Johnson. The new owner tried to bask in the limelight, but ultimately, the face of the three SB winning Cowboys was Jimmy Johnson. Jerry Jones paid the bills, but Jimmy Johnson worked the trades, the drafts and the winning strategies in that era. Although physically there for only two of the three, all three wins are deservedly attributed to Jimmy Johnson’s coaching acumen.

So, what’s changed in the last 28 years? I’ll let you be the judge.
Easy answer. The ownership, FA, the salary cap just to name a few.

Don't open and read the post then. What this board doesn't need is a class monitor constantly pushing his opinions on others

Oh yeah, I got it. You were a class monitor
Oh no that's not it I run around on here and watch some of the ridiculous posts they've guys themselves as just a concerned fan and really they're just whining complaining and trying to find reasons to be negative and the sky is always falling so you know what you get it back you get an annoying response to your annoying posts... If memory serves me it reminds me daily of why I need to come back here and remind other folks to stop living so far in the past this is a week to week league if not a year to year league and all this nonsense about 27 years and blah blah blah we missed Jimmy Johnson blah blah blah the curse blah blah blah Jerry's a clown he doesn't know how to run a team blah blah blah but here we are talking about his team which by the way has three rings in 33 years and the old regime had two if it's all about rings Jerry wins..

Now how do you like that there's your response memory serves me that math says 3 and 33 years is better than two and 33 years.. It also tells me that fans need to have more patience it took the chiefs 51 years between championships it took the Eagles 60 years to only have one thirteens with none we've also not had one in 27 years but somehow we find ourselves tied for third place all time why is that? I can tell you why championships are hard to come by it will eventually come back around to us it ebbs and flows you're either a fan of this team or you're not if you're a fan of the old Dallas Cowboys then you're in the wrong place we are past that you're living in the past if memory serves me this is 2023 it's a new year with a new offense new players in New Hope and we still have 15 games left and we just all the sky is falling Debbie downer who's me post get on my freaking nerves and I'm gonna come here and tell you how much it gets on my nerves!!!

One more time, post Jimmy Johnson's influence, Jerry Jones has no, nada SB wins. And compare the post season wins from 1960 through '96 to the last 28 years.

You see, I can post opinions without insulting you. You should try it

I think the salary cap played a huge role. When you can buy championships the teams with the deepest pockets rise to the top. Today, GMs need to be very good at what they do to put winning teams together. I also think JJ's arrogance trickles down to the players. JJ wants ti be a media star ahead of being a SB champion owner. None for all and all for none.

I wholeheartedly agree with you and this is why hiring a great GM is so critical to success. The Cowboys have been very good in regular season but have struggled post season. The fix is a great coach and great GM to even have a shot at the SB

not even reading that but when I read the word Jimmy and Johnson as if Jerry the Jones was never part of this team didn't hire his best friend from college and make this all happen together that I'm sorry I'm not listening any nonsense that is so in the past it's so over get over it or find another logo team to follow the stars just not for you anymore literally and figuratively Jerry started the star valley ranch is gone jimmy'z gone it's all gone now move on. Yeah Jimmy Johnson wasn't even successful Miami dolphin never went on to do anything else I don't believe he was gonna stay here past 1996 anyway literally that is who he and bill Parcells were he was gonna leave after that and I also don't think we'd have won anymore with or without Barry switzer I think it ended up the way it was always gonna end up with or without Jimmy and now we're here and we don't care that you don't like Jerry anymore..

I served 23 years and was a NCO for 19 years after attending the US Air Force Academy following a Congressional Appointment from Senator Kika de la Garza......and your point really is?
Out of curiosity how did you get appointed to the Air Force Academy and remain an NCO? Graduates of service academies are commissioned officers.

In the last 28 years what's changed

Well I was in kindergarten 28 years ago. Now I'm a home owner, married, and still haven't seen them win crap
I am 10 years older than you. I saw all the 90s success live but was in grade school so couldn't really fully comprehend the history they made winning 3 in 4 years and just how good they were. I thought this was normal. Little did I know would not even close to come experiencing anything like that once the Steelers super bowl ended.

At that age, I would be playing with friends in the other room while the NFC Championship games were on and even the Super Bowls.

Jimmy hired Jimmy and that's where it stops with his contribution. He didn't do anything after that.

You say Jimmy didn't have success after Dallas? How did Jerry do once Jimmy's imprint was gone? We had enough talent to coast to another Super Bowl but it's been nearly 30 years of nothing. Sure, he's raking in the cash but his team on the field is a punchline and it's because of his carny family front office he runs. He runs Dallas like the local family grocery team if you ever watched All Or Nothing. Him, his son and the rest of his family are toxic. He is absolutely the reason why this team will never win again.

This will be the third year in a row with double digit wins.

I’d like to think it’s because of shear incompetence and poor pickings that led us to where we are.

Every now and then it becomes more apparent to me that two things Jerry Jones is and isn’t. A SMART businessman, horrible football owner.

You don’t think these deals he’s making he’s thinking how much $$$ this jersey will sell? Over the last 28 years, after JJ left, maybe his regime change was to sell jersey’s now that he’s got everyone sold Dallas is ELITE. Has he created his very own Ponzi scheme with the wishes and prayers of all dallas fans? Paying back one with another instant sports highlight to sell you a $9 CUP of popcorn?

Only issue is eventually you need to pay your stockholders the money or it won’t work anymore. Eventually, Jerry’s going to have to win a Super Bowl and re pay those wishes and prayers or no one will buy jersey’s of Dallas anymore as there won’t be a reason to.

I played football at the collegiate level. I served in service from Viet Nam to Afghanistan. Was Postal to retirement, and most recently was a Corrections Officer.

I served 23 years and was a NCO for 19 years after attending the US Air Force Academy following a Congressional Appointment from Senator Kika de la Garza......and your point really is?
So you served in Vietnam and Afghanistan? Thanks for your service. I think your years must be off though.

We left Vietnam in 1973. If you served 23 years your service would’ve ended in ‘96 or 5years before we got to Afghanistan.
