Ignore New England?

I'm not saying sign 10 guys but maybe re sign a couple of players and maybe improve the D a bit?
What has new England done in pasT. They only paid big money to Revis last year. Who else have they ever paid a free agent big money to

Sheard signed with NE

Michael Johnson got cut a year after signing a huge deal....If that doesn't scream red flag I don't know what does. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's lazy and the exact opposite kind of guy Marinelli wants.

Clayborne- Meh, if he's the 2nd best d line signing we make I'd be happy, but he certainly isn't fixing the pass rush.

Derrek Morgan- seems like he would be a good pass rush addition, but he hasn't managed 7 sacks in a season yet. Also doesn't bring much to the table at all in the run game. I'd take him because beggers can't be choosers, but I see him as a pretty big risk signing depending on the $.

I highly, highly doubt we pay Fairley big $ to play 1 tech for us. I'd be absolutely shocked.

Damn... work is really interfering with me keeping up with free agency. I didn't know that Sheard had already signed. I liked him as a inexpensive (relatively) option.

Johnson, I know has red flags but the team will know the reason why Lovie cut him and if it is lazy then he won't be an option, as you say. However, if the team cut him because they overpaid him on his contract, he might be worth a significantly lower price (assuming he'd actually take it). Like I said, if Marinelli or Garrett hears he's lazy then he won't be an option.

I'm with you on Clayborn. He isn't the solution... but he could be part of it.

And I'm like you on Fairley... if he's expensive I can't imagine the Cowboys thinking a 1 tech is worth it. It would surprise me too. I don't know what the price is though and there is a little piece of me that hopes perhaps it could happen.

I see Morgan as similar to Clayborn. A guy to upgrade the 4th or 5th DE, not a guy to come in and make an impact. Still Marinelli has luck with these types and he could upgrade the roster without being a Hardy type.

And for the record, I do hope Dallas signs Hardy. I just won't write off the entire spring and summer as a failure if they don't.

ONE YEAR and all is forgiven?

No, I'm actually going to sit here and think. Quite frankly, I don't give a **** what has happened in the past 20 years, I care about now. I care about the current free agency and the 2015 draft.

Right now, Hardy is out there and he's an unknown. Teams can't even sign him yet, so I don't know what this "Let's go get Hardy!" crap is coming from. When he becomes available, should be try for him? Yes, but it's been reported several other teams will be going after him. There's also a question of his suspension.

Since Hardy is a question mark, who do you want Cowboys to go after now? Who should have we went after? A good majority of FA either returned to their old team or were overpaid by another. Losing Carter and Durant is not dooming this team, especially Durant.

So, outside of Hardy, who do you want Dallas to go out and sign? Let's not just go around signing players just to sign players. It has to make sense. This is offseason impatience, this is you wanting action. There are a few teams in this league that do absolutely no big time FA signings and get by just fine, a few of them are playoff bound teams nearly every year.

This chicken little crap needs to stop. Do you guys not get tired of the same routine every year?

Re signed their most important guy and brought sheard in.
You going to criticize them?
Resigning their own isn't going out in free agency. I'm fine signing your own.

You know what you have in your guys. New England has let players walk before. Just let Revis and Browner walk

Offseason isn't won in free agency.

Offseason is won with the draft.

That's true if you understand how offseason is won in the draft.

1) Offseason is won in the draft because the draft allows you to add talent regardless of position.
2) Talent is what wins games in the NFL but even talent isn't enough when you have massive holes.
3) Free agency is a period to fill all those massive holes before entering the draft so that you don't go into the draft desperate.
4) You fill all those massive holes by resigning your own guys or acquiring free agents who you are comfortable going into the season with.
5) To know if you're truly comfortable with your roster (before the draft) you need to ask yourself, "Can we be competitive with the current team we have?"
6) A competitive team is a team without massive holes (and, of course, talent).
7) A massive hole is a position that is filled with a player who wouldn't be a starter on most NFL teams.
8) Once you have a team full of at-least-starting-caliber players, you're ready to go into the draft.
9) Go into the draft and get the best players available but don't expect them to contribute immediately.
10) Rinse, wash, repeat.

Don't you know it has to be one or the other. Either buy the entire team or no one at all. There is no middle ground.

Let wilfolk Revis browner all walk. Seattle let browner and Thurmond and maxwell walk.

Both teams have been active in an attempt to get better.

We haven't.

That being said you guys convinced me. We are going 16-0 next year. Goodnight.

But we haven't gotten worse. Eagles are making all sort of moves but have gotten worse IMO.

Sorry bud but over paying players don't win games. Ask oakland and Commanders fans.

They also have the luxury of winning the last 2 SBs. That buys a ton of leeway with the masses.

This offseason will be a failure IMO. Period. Either we should have signed Murray to "keep the band together" on offense, or we used the money we saved by not paying him to get the only difference-making DE left on the market, Hardy. If we lose both, what was the plan? Just rest on the laurels of a 12-4 season and make no serious effort to get better on D, or stay the same on O?

Dallas was 12-4 with very little done. Dallas I'm needs two things a RB and a sde.

27 Gurley or Gordon. One will be there.

He'll rd2 Edwards Jr and run with Edwards and Gardner.

Dallas don't need to spend big in fa to win. They already proved that. Took 2 days for the spend or we are doomed post to come out lol.

Jerry is not paying Demarco because of the MBIII debacle, and will do whatever it takes (franchise then long term) to keep Dez so he doesnt see him scoring 16TDs a year in another uniform.

I disagree. he won't pay Dez in the long run either.
