Because that's how sports works. Fans celebrate, whine, complain, high five, get giddy, get upset, etc.
You seem to think people are being irrational here by suggesting we still have an issue at the head coaching spot, especially after a game where he and his staff clearly got outcoached and made some noticeable gaffes.
Yes, I think there is some irrationality going on here with the fatalism being spouted at every turn. I understand when OTAs begin the hope will return. But this season, these players, and to some degree the coaches have shown me something I have not seen in over 20 years.
This season so reminds me of 1991 and that disappointment. But like 1992, bringing in a stud DE and select players to augment the defense will make a world of difference.
Surely I understand nothing is guaranteed. But loom at teams like Atlanta where they have been building to this NFC Championship game. They were not an over night success, as are no teams in this league. Every team build its roster throughn the draft and somewhat free agency.
If our immediate history tells us anything, Jerry is sitting back and allowing real football people to have a serious voice in the addition this team makes. It appears gone are the days of Jerry overriding everyone because he thinks he is a football guy and choosing the Manziels of the draft.
Jaylon Smith is recovering, and if he can be 90% of what he was in college, Sean Lee will have a book end which makes a world of difference.
Romo now becomes a commodity, and one thing I do believe about Jerry, except for his idiocy about Roy Williams - and I was actually for that trade - he is a great negotiator and follows his own advice to keep your powder dry.
One or two solid free agents and as good draft and this team can make a quantum leap.
Is it cast in stone? No.
But is it more likely knowing the offense is still intact? Yes.
I don't mean to insult you, if i have. This is a time to follow Michael Irvin's advice.
Look up. Get up, and never give up.
