If Parsons wants 30 million per year are you paying him?

Would you resign him for that amount? I have a feeling thats what he is going to be asking for. Lets also assume he continue to play like he has played up until now.
This year will tell us what he might be worth.

Of course you pay it. By the time his 5th year option is up $30M would be an absolute bargain. He’s getting a lot more than that and will be worth it. You never worry about how much you pay generational type players. You piece in the rest around them and then laugh when someone half his talent level gets more the next year
Exactly.......in other words, let's get signed immediately after his 3rd year. He should still have 4-5 years left before injuries start taking a toll on his body. We have to keep in mind, as Stephen Jones has said many times, the LBer position has more injuries than any others.

You don’t technically have to pay Micah for another 5 seasons.

2 years on his contract, 5th year option, with two years of franchising if needed.

I don’t know why people freak out about this now
Because Micah is going to hold out prior to the 2024 season. Every player agent on the planet would make that move. The only way the Cowboys can circumvent that is to start negotiations during the upcoming season and get the contract done prior to the 2024 season..

They better be looking in the draft to replace him if that happens. Not saying no, don’t pay him. But if you have his replacement or some one near his abilities. Then proceed from there.

Right now I am not concerning myself over it.

I see that, but his caliber of LB is so difficult to find that I'd say yes to paying him that if I were Jerry.

Well I’m kinda thinking NOW is the time to try to win before that day comes, but Jerry is “thinking more long term.”

Gotcha.
Any other year i would agree, however; The moves that were made this offseason says otherwise

Ain’t my money and there’s not a chance Jerry lets him hit the market so it really doesn’t matter.

He’s likely one of a few who can carry a team. Outside of the QB position, I’m not sure I’d trade him for anyone. Watt would be maybe the only one. Micah hasn’t peaked yet, IMO.

when its time to pay him, I hope we have cut ties with the boat anchor who's now hogging all the money.

I sign him no matter what it takes. Salary cap can be managed as it’s predicted to skyrocket in the coming years.

Imo, pay him, unless some other team is willing to make a Herschel Walker type trade for him.

Predicted, but not guaranteed. I'm not signing someone to a crippling contract if it means destroying the ability to compete for the next 4 or 5 years. Are they trying to win championships or trying to keep people fat and happy?
