Thinking rush is gonna all of a sudden become a solid QB is comical

If Dak has become really bad and all this is actually his fault then the rest of the team could elevate Rush and he could get hot just by being ok.

Rush is physically limited, to put it mildly. “Getting hot” is for backups who have some talent like Andy Dalton or Jon Kitna. The Cowboys will be lucky to avoid a shut out this week.

Dak is unlikely to be 100% this season.

They can always wait based on him being less than 100%. They would replace Rush if he loses a game but he could get a couple of extra starts if he keeps winning.

I still don’t understand how Rush is better than Grier. He doesn’t have arm to speak of. So I don’t think he could get hot, even if we had weapons and we don’t. Thoughts like this is how jerry gets to 1+1=3 like it’s a real thing and deludes himself into thinking we are one player away.

If Rush gets hot, leave his *** in there until he cools off. I don't care how many weeks Rush stays in there, if he's hot, let him keep playing.

The funniest and most appropriate end to this year would be this:

Rush gets on a roll and the Cowboys reel off an impressive 13-4 record.

But in the meantime Jerry has to call a press conference because Dak's thumb has healed.

Dak steps to the podium with never before seen humility and explains how the NFL is a meritocracy and how Rush has earned the right to continue to start for the Cowboys as they head to the playoffs.

We know Jerry is about the franchise value.

The one thing I do like about Rush, even though it will cost them is, he sees it he throws it.
If it is a timed play... he throws it...
He doesn't seem to second guess himself like Dak.

These highlights did not MAKE Rush look good. He ACTUALLY played very well.
