While I share in your loyalty because of those same reasons you mention, I'd be lying if I didn't admit to just going through the motions of being a Cowboys fan at this point.

Ive gone from being a true "fan"atic to some watered down apathetic observer.
Such is the life of the current and future JonesBoys fans.

Schottenherimer seems to somehow not only be in the mix, but the betting favorite to be the next head coach.

The guy they didn't have enough faith in to be anything more than an assistant OC to McCarthy.

The guy that if he left Dallas right now would not get any attention at all for an OC job and would probably get demoted to a position coach somewhere IF somebody wanted him.

I can't think of a more "we don't care at all" hire than Schottenheimer. This is basically just a tiny step above Jerry naming Stephen the HC.

It certainly will take those casual fans away.

Garrett was the early 2000s Ben Johnson. The young OC that was destined to be a head coach. It didn't work out, but at least it made sense.

McCarthy was a Super Bowl champion that, at the time he was hired, was only behind Belichick in playoff wins for an active coach.

Schottenheimer is literally a position coach, at best, if he hit the open market right now.

Garrett should’ve never gotten that job. He’s the reason for teams being in shotgun on 3rd and 1. That was a hallmark of his. There’s a good reason he hasn’t been in demand anywhere after his short stint with the Giants

I would probably just do what I mostly did the last half of the season, DVR the game, check the score later, decide if it is worth a watch or just delete it.

Jerry and idiot boy have sucked all the fun out of being a fan if I am being honest. It’s almost like I don’t even care if they win or lose anymore.

I can no longer consider coming back as a fan until Dak Prescott is gone. Regardless of who the coach is. And even then I'm not sure I want to play that game again. I'm having a lot of fun enjoying good competitive games without living and dying with the Cowboys. I was the biggest Josh Allen fan last night!!!!!

Honestly, this is my stance. Screw the coach, until Dak is gone, we are toast. This weekend shouldn't leave any doubt that Dak can compete in the playoffs.
