Garrett was the early 2000s Ben Johnson. The young OC that was destined to be a head coach. It didn't work out, but at least it made sense.

McCarthy was a Super Bowl champion that, at the time he was hired, was only behind Belichick in playoff wins for an active coach.

Schottenheimer is literally a position coach, at best, if he hit the open market right now.
Who will run the same Tired, Stagnant offense we witnessed this past year . U can't make this crap up .

There is very little hope the boys will win 8 games in any of the next 3 years regardless of head coach.
I agree.
But more fans need to come to terms with this reality to avoid the depression of it when it happens.

I'm at the proper apathy stage already.

Garrett was never the creative innovative playcaller that Ben Johnson is. I totally disagree with comparing the two.

A BSchotty coaching hire might be the worst of all time. Like Antonio Pierce bad. Like Rod Marinelli Lions bad. Like Hue Jackson bad.

Change my fandom - no. Always a Cowboys fan.

Will I watch, follow, buy Cowboys stuff. No, not nearly as much.

Not supporting Jerry anymore.

I'd still be a fan, I would just continue to care less and less.

But, hey, maybe we're shooting for such gross incompetence we draft Archie Manning next year without actually "tanking."
I hope that’s not the plan because it’s not a very good one. Arch is a red shirt freshman. He’s also a Manning which means he’ll probably play college ball through all four years of his eligibility - which would make your tank plan about two years premature.

Schottenherimer seems to somehow not only be in the mix, but the betting favorite to be the next head coach.

The guy they didn't have enough faith in to be anything more than an assistant OC to McCarthy.

The guy that if he left Dallas right now would not get any attention at all for an OC job and would probably get demoted to a position coach somewhere IF somebody wanted him.

I can't think of a more "we don't care at all" hire than Schottenheimer. This is basically just a tiny step above Jerry naming Stephen the HC.
he is going to be rather cheap and just think about all the money Jerry saved.

No one except the Cowboys is interviewing Brian Schottenheimer to be a HC, just let that sink in.

This organization is just trash.

IMO, Schottenheimer wouldn’t mean the end of world. He can’t drive the bus into the ditch cuz it’s ALREADY THERE. It’s not a sexy hire but that doesn’t mean he’s not a fully capable coach. He’s not my choice but I won’t cry if he ends up with the gig. I worry for ANY coach who takes the HC job in Dallas.

It's basically, Jerry isn't going to change and we aren't going to win anyways so, lets go Brandon, er Brian!

Yeah - Jerry isn’t likely to change… but just maybe the Cowboys can win through or around him. Can only hope.
