Here's the "news" that was out there for all to read:

A locker room attendant for the New England Patriots tried to introduce an unapproved special teams football into last month's AFC Championship Game, the same game at the center of the "Deflategate" allegations, four sources familiar with the investigation told "Outside the Lines."

One source said that the attendant assigned to the officials' locker room, identified as 48-year-old Jim McNally,

McNally is a part-time employee who was hired by The Kraft Group, a company owned by Patriots owner Robert Kraft. Kelly Way, the director of operations for TeamOps at Gillette Stadium, said NFL game-day employees are paid by The Kraft Group.

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_...e-gave-unapproved-ball-official-lines-reports

Then, the story changes:

What the NFL’s VP of Game Operations blundered into instead was a memorabilia scam. Run by an NFL employee. In which said employee (as-yet unnamed) took game-used footballs that were going to be donated to charity so he could hawk them and pocket the money.

McNally was just a fall guy for this NFL-employed scam artist, according to Adam Schefter, ESPN’s well-connected NFL insider.

What looks foolish is this yarn being spun now that an NFL employee was stealing footballs to sell and the Pats didnt know a thing. Of course a Pats lover will swallow this hook, line, and sinker, but aint nobody else buying it.

Cant wait for the next spin on the deflated footballs mystery. If the NFL is willing to slap the Pats on the wrist for SpyGate and burn all the evidence its no wonder what we've seen so far is happening. This story & coverup will get more comical as Robert Krafty pulls Goodell's puppet strings.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...grigson-says-teams-notified-nfl-ball-concerns

The story above has elements critical to the investigation. It leads me to believe there is more evidence incriminating to the Patriots. Ryan Grigson, the Colts GM notified the NFL the week prior to the AFC championship, that he was concerned about under inflated footballs.

It begs the question, what tipped off the GM??

The actual in game notification happened in the second quarter. There's certainly something more than a spur of the moment discovery here, there was evidence known to the GM days prior to the game. Whatever that evidence was, it had better be in the Wells report for the investigation to have credibility.

Haven't really kept up since it was reported that only 1 ball was significantly under the limit so lemme see if I got this right.

The guy who took the balls to the bathroom was also reported to have tried to sneak an unapproved kicking ball into the game. Turns out that the ball he supposedly tried to sneak into the game was handed to him in the absence of an approved kicking ball. The person who handed him the ball was not the designated "ball handler" official, but did so when he realized that the team was a ball short. Now it's being said that the reason the ball was missing is because the designated "ball handler" official was skimming off the top of the approved ball pile before the game so he could sell a "game used" piece of equipment (which wouldn't even be game used had he get gotten away with it). That guy has now been fired.

That about right?

I have an M. Night Shyamalan twist (I don't actually believe this, by the way) to propose.

1 of the 12 balls was under-inflated significantly. The rest were only slightly under. The Colts were supposedly tipped off when the intercepted ball came to the sideline. At first it was the player, but then he said that's entirely untrue so it must have been someone who handles the balls. If only 1 ball was significantly under-inflated and the others not so much, it's reasonable to think that the intercepted pass may have been the 1 significantly deflated ball.

Colts GM notifies the league of under-inflated balls prior to the game.

So here's the twist. Colts ownership/management has a beef with the Patriots ownership/management and it was the Colts who actually deflated the ball on the sideline after the interception.

Googling as for every Kraft/Goodell picture to trash an article that might have credibility is something not even the National Enquirer does.

Maybe this is good therapy for you, but broadcasting your issue in public and making it problem to others is not so good. You manner of selling your POV is EPIC FAIL, unless you are a sneaky Patriots fan pretending to be a bad poster boy.

That would be quite a twist. I'm with you on this though, I don't think its possible, and would be far worse for the colts, if true, than the 45-7 beat down they received.

The Patsie lovers just pretend as if this isnt relevant. And then make claims about others only believing what fits a certain narrative. :lmao2:

Another in denial Patsie lover posting on a Cowboys forum.

There are more Kraft/Goodell pics so what was posted is just a sampling. The guys are quite chummy dont ya think? They may have even had a tryst with Michael Sam for all we know. And you dont see pics all over the place of a chummy Roger with other owners, like you do with Krafty. Its all relevant, especially when you take into consideration the relatively light punishment for SpyGate and the burning of all the evidence. Only in denial Patsie lovers would ignore the obvious.

No questions or doubts? Are ya serious? Did you even turn on your computer once during the week following the Lions game? Many Cowboys-haters in other forums took great pleasure in bashing the Cowboys for that victory (which they earned 100% fair and square).

You sound just as ignorant as they do. Your jealousy is very unbecoming a Cowboys fan.

Other teams cheating doesn't make me jealous or ignorant.

Your defense of it makes you look like the biggest fool on this board though. It's sad how much you post about the patriots on a cowboys forum. Your buttocks are showing.

No. It's a different guy.
Turns out that the ball he supposedly tried to sneak into the game was handed to him in the absence of an approved kicking ball. The person who handed him the ball was not the designated "ball handler" official, but did so when he realized that the team was a ball short. Yes I'd say that's about right. Just to clarify, the league employee who you are calling the "ball handler" is (or I should say "was") responsible for NFL auctions for charity, and had no responsibilities relating to actual game operations. Also, this "ball handler" guy that stole the ball is the same guy that gave the unapproved ball to the Patriots employee (who is actually not a Patriots employee but an employee of the Kraft Group so that's close enough).
1 of the 12 balls was under-inflated significantly. The rest were only slightly under. The Colts were supposedly tipped off when the intercepted ball came to the sideline. At first it was the player, but then he said that's entirely untrue so it must have been someone who handles the balls. That is what some people are indeed theorizing. I'm not sure I'm buying that level of deception, although it's worth mentioning that the league executive (Kensil) who at first was running the whole investigation also has a huge beef with the Patriots and Bill Belichick. He worked for the Jets for years and has openly expressed his disdain for the Patriots and Belichick for screwing the Jets over in 2000.

So it would be like the 49ers filing a complaint against the Cowboys and then some 20-year Commanders executive who hates Jerruh spearheading the investigation.

Exactly. It's other teams *winning* that makes you jealous and ignorant. You don't give 2 turds about cheating or "integrity of the game." You are just using this as an outlet for your hatred of all things Patriot.

If you really cared about cheating, competitive balance and integrity of the game, you'd want to hold all teams to the same standard. But you don't care about those things in the slightest.

I am not so sure that self medicating is a good thing. You must be doing it.

Because if you Read my post, then your reply... Doesn't make any sense. At all.

The patriots winning 3 of 4 was pretty damn impressive....

Who isnt wanting to hold teams to the same standard? Because the majority of people posting DO NOT think like you that the Patsies are some sort of victim in all of this, and dont do anything but laugh when you make the outrageous claims about the innocent Pats and how they were so harshly punished, blah, blah, blah, doesnt mean we dont care about the integrity of the game. Its actually the exact opposite. Because there is care for the integrity of the game we just dont give the Patsies a blank check free pass like you do.

Do you even think about what you're posting? I cannot remember any poster that I have read on any kind of forum being as self contradicting as you or as consistently ridiculous in trying to defend the indefensible.

All the people who are ridiculously obsessed with the Patriots, but completely ignore the other teams caught violating league rules (not that the Patriots actually did anything wrong here in this current nontroversy). No one gave 2 turds about ball tampering when it was the Vikings who were caught red handed. No one cares about integrity of the game when it's the Falcons pumping in crowd noise. And no one said anything about league rules when it's the Browns illegally texting messages to the sidelines.

Giving all those teams a free pass while trying to crucify the Patriots is an example of holding one team to a higher standard. Even Ray Charles can see that, only those blinded by hatred and jealousy cannot.

Here is the evidence that I respected the Patriots as of 7 jan 2006, before spy gate blew up.

http://cowboyszone.com/threads/are-you-sick-and-tired-of-the-new-england-patriots.46239/#post-691031

Well, that's encouraging, it means you can be reclaimed over to the good side.

Spygate was a technicality that was overblown to the max. But even if you don't accept that view, it was 8 years ago and NE under Belichick has a better record since then than they did before. In both the 7 years before and 7 years after, they have a ridiculously high 70+ winning pct, playoffs every year but 1, 3 SB appearances, etc. Completely obvious that Spygate meant nothing competitively. And NE paid their penalty, a 1st rounder and a heavy fine.

This current fiasco is a complete joke and would have been thrown out by any judge in a court of law. There isn't any basis for any of these claims, it was just a case of the league's procedures not being up to snuff for this sort of comparison between the two teams' psi's. NE is clean and the ones I would be looking at are the Colts. They had possession of the only ball that measured 2 psi too low. All the 1-psi discrepancies are all explainable, there's a long list of reasons how those balls could have been below 12.5 and different than Indy's.
