Eagles are run far better as an organization than the Cowboys are. But they’ll never be worth what the Cowboys are and that’s all Jerry bases his success on now.
The Eagles have won 1 Super Bowl in their entire history. How many Super Bowls have been played?

The Cowboys are a much better team than they are.
At some point you have to put up or shut up.

We can’t keep making excuses. We must accept we either aren’t as good as we think they are or there is some other contributing factors in leadership.

Most likely it’s all of the above .

And we must remember where most fans and analysts had us this year as not as good of team as last year after key Cap releases to roster. Plus our divisional opponents looked to have added more talent.

We could probably present an argument we are better this year than expected. And only now when we have begun to fallback more into our initial expectations do we find ourselves dissatisfied.

Why does our wonderful history in our first 35 years which we were one of the most admired and best ran franchises still factor in to our discussions evaluating this era ?

Why doesn't the current recent history where they have the best record in the NFC over the last 2 seasons factor in?

Jethro still wants to win badly. Just not enough to get out of the way and let someone else take credit.

Factor into what? What’s your argument? That the Cowboys have been more successful than the Egirls this era?

Well right now they are tied with them at 22 and 9 over the last 2 seasons for the best in the NFC. It is also clear that the Cowboys do have a good team and would be better than South winner. At least it is clear to me.

Ok. If that makes you feel better.

But who has improved more from last year and placed themselves in a better position for success this year?

Thats what is more important to me. Not the fact we’d be running away with South division like about half of the league.

We’ll see who has more success this season or years coming up but I’d argue the Egirls have currently placed themselves in a better position.

Their offensive line is better. Their pass rush is better. It all comes down to who is the healthiest and playing good in the playoffs. To me it would be a good idea to beat the Eagles and then rest some players in the final 2 games. Especially rest Parsons and get him ready for the playoffs.

The first 4 words of this post were: “IF this team fizzles…”. Didn’t say they already have. I hope they go on a long win streak. Hopefully they can. It’s just hard to deny we’ve haven’t seen this movie before.

Some people just wanna read what they wanna read........and this is a discussion forum for opinions, projections, predictions regardless of happy fans or dream slayers. Not a documentary here waiting for facts to unfold, no need to wait until after the season and put a pause on what is going on here.

Greg, my only objection to this is I think fans should be able to feel however they want. Put up, shut up, give up, throw up…whatever. Fans of the Cowboys- especially on this forum can think or feel whatever.

That and taking projects in the 2nd round. And ignoring DT. And very bad personnel mgmt/assessment.

Sure they can feel however they want . But at some point it can become totally irrelevant.

Regardless , I was referring to this team needs to put up or shut up not the fans.

We just need to secure the 5th seed or we could end up going to SF instead of losing record South Division winner.

As a wc team, gonna have to win playoff games on the road. Something we haven’t done in 30 years! Last road playoff win? Jan 17, 1993 in the 92 NFC championship game! Last time we won a road playoff game was when Jimmy screamed “How bout them Cowboys!” Ugh.

Our drafts have improved, but the use of Free agency to get better has not. The teams getting better in the off-season are led by young aggressive GMs whose jobs are on the line.

Peters, Hankins, LVE, Noah Brown.

All fantastic signings way out performing their contracts. I expect we'll be able to add Hilton to that list.

The ones that hurt, IMO, was dumping Cooper and keeping Gallup and Schulz which was a wash on the cap.

And why just making the playoffs in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2006-07 could be the achievement especially considering most felt this was more of a retooling year after making some tough Cap moves lessening the talent pool on a roster that won the division last year.

Most sound analysts and fans felt winning 10 games and vying for a playoff spot was a reasonable goal. That our success in 2022 pended on our defense elevating since our offense could have been lessened with Cap moves.

Who thought after losing Prescott to injury in opener our season had a shot at doing much. But here we are. Looks like we will have met those expectations.

And while we haven’t won a road playoff game since 1992 season I think most feel we have a reasonable opportunity since we could most likely be facing a losing record team from the South division in which we could possibly be favored.

I think we could argue 2022 given the expectations coming in which appear to be fairly accurate and how it has unfolded could be considered moving in the right direction. It could raise expectations even higher for 2023 seeking our 3rd consecutive playoff season for the first time since our 90’s run.
