If We Lose a Playoff Game Due to a Missed Maher Kick

Too much on the line and that dude lost his nerve last night.
Idc what he has done all season and he has been fairly reliable, once a kicker gets the yips, it’s over for him.
I’d be holding tryouts as soon as the plane touched down

Lirim kicked in a game for us last year when Legatron was injured and was perfect on XPs, I believe. Whatever though, if Maher is really the best they can do before Sunday so be it, but it's also a highly questionable move to rely on a guy who just missed 5 kicks in a row. That decision has to fall on someone.
Can you imagine the pressure that will be on him for the first XP he attempts next week? Especially if it's windy, which that place can be.

Nope the original question is flat out dumb.
Sure, nobody will try to assign any blame if that happens. We'll all just accept it. Letting a guy who just missed 5XPs decide our season was our only option.

Talk about dumb.

Tell us why was he missing?

Heads should rightly roll, but who gets the blame (besides Maher)? McCarthy or Jerry?
well, there is a cult on this board that will blame Dak. their logic will be that coaches don't trust him to allow him to go for 2, so they are forced to kick with a bad kicker that cost the game.

Any kicker can miss a kick that costs you a game.
Any receiver can drop a pass. Any RBs can fumble or slip. Any defender can miss a tackle or blow an assignment. Any holder can bobble the snap that costs you a playoff win :).

It happens. I’m not blaming Maher for a loss on a missed kick unless he just melts down again and misses several.

Show him film of high school kickers easily making long field goals, and there are lots of them.
