If we make the playoffs is there a point?

Of course there is a point, when the playoffs come, everything gets thrown out the window.
Do you all not remember when the Seahawks won their division at 7-9 and then beat the defending super bowl champs NO Saints.
Im not saying Dallas will do the same,
But anything is possible, or how did that commercial go, impossible is nothing

Never have I seen a thread that so epitomizes the problem with our fan base.

It's like the threads about losing more to get a better draft pick. Like the difference between Number 20 and Number 15 is so huge as to forgo a playoff berth. Especially since we are talking about winning the Division and getting a home game.

Point is get in the playoffs and try to win Super Bowl.

Of course that is the point, but it boils down to if you think this team is good enough to win if they reach the playoffs. I don't think they have a snowball's chance in hell of reaching the Super Bowl. I am sure there are plenty of fans that think they can win, but many do not. The Cowboys may be the best team in a very weak division, but they are not a good football team.

I think the point of the thread is to ask opinions about if the team has chance of being more than a one and done playoff team. Nobody is saying that the team should lose games.

Every good team is potentially ONE injury away from becoming average. So once the game starts, you never know how the game will end.

The only thing this team is good at is being inconsistent. I just don't see this team winning anything at all. The way the Commanders are playing today and the giants starting to win there is a very strong possibility this team could be ties for first place in the next 3 weeks. I don't see a playoff team here at all and don't ever want to talk playoffs at all.

The Commanders won by inches against the Chargers and got punked by the Vikings. They should be 2-7

I see the thread as a chance to hear some realistic opinions. Some hope and prayer posts have been made, but that is normal. Most threads are the hope and prayer type instead of a sharing of realistic expectations.

Dallas seems to rank pretty high in takeaway points. I don't see why people say they don't capitalize on turnovers.

Did you complain when the Cowboys lost to the Eagles, Giants and Commanders in 2008, 2011, 2012 - defeats which prevented the Cowboys from getting into the playoffs? If so, why? Surely you didn't think the Cowboys would accomplish much in the playoffs, did you?

Did you complain when the Cowboys lost to the Eagles, Giants and Commanders in 2008, 2011, 2012 - defeats which prevented the Cowboys from getting into the playoffs? If so, why? Surely you didn't think the Cowboys would accomplish much in the playoffs, did you?

I didn't expect much from the Cowboys if they had made the playoffs those years. Actually, I have very low expectations every year and the team finds a way to meet them no matter how low they are.

The playoffs are all about the hot hand. A few years ago, the hated New York Giants looked like there was really no point for them making the playoffs, but they hit their stride and didn't come off it until they had won the Super Bowl.

I believe Dallas' offense, in particular, has it in it to get on such a hot streak, but who knows if all the ability the Cowboys have on that side of the ball will ever consistently show up.

Even if the Cowboys get crushed 38-0 in the first game of the playoffs, I'd still prefer for them to have made the playoffs than to not have made the playoffs.


I wonder what some of these posters here thought of the Cowboys' three Super Bowl defeats: 16-13 to the Colts, 21-17 to the Steelers, and 35-31 to the Steelers. Would they have preferred for the Cowboys to have not made the Super Bowl in those years?

heck yeah it's a point..if we were getting blown out in our losses like last year i wouldn't even want us to make the play-offs...

We have a chance.. i'm not saying we make an SB run but I believe we can win the first game.

yeah there is a point...the boys will have a one in 12 chance to win the SB...Once a team gets in you never know what can happen....but you gotta get in first...:
