I’m not sweeping anything under the rug just pointing out how stats can deceive. Looking overall at the stats how much different were they? The main point was what a big difference a QB can make.

For sure going from Winston to Brady was a huge upgrade but throwing 33 INT's compared to 11 is also a huge diference in why games were won and lost..Again all I'm saying is Dak is not the ideal QB situation for some here and thats fine but that argument may not be a good one..thats all.

Jimmy Johnson would make a bigger impact than any one player.

The Cowboys already have the roster to make a run in the NFC. But they've never been prepared come playoff time. It either comes down to lack of focus, inadequate Garrett-level gameplanning, or both. Jimmy wouldn't tolerate either.

So many are understandably picking Roger Staubach. Others are understandably picking Troy Aikman or Tony Romo. But...Dak has a better career completions percentage and is on pace to shatter Romo's franchise record total passing yards in 4 more years if Dak stays healthy. So, I will stick with Dak since he's currently on the team.

But...if I had to choose an all-time Cowboys great to help this current team, I would choose The Playmaker, arguably our franchise's best ever WR, Michael Irvin. Imagine opposing Defenses trying to stop Irvin teamed up with CeeDee and Gallup at WR, plus Schultz, McKeon and Ferguson at TE? This receiving corps would be unstoppable.

The QB play would have been better no doubt but in my opinion not being able to stop the run in the playoffs is the bigger issue on this team, I'm not positive any QB overcomes the penalties and OL issue compounded by giving up 5+ypc and 33 top...Better chance for sure diferent outcome Maybe.

I'm hoping he will this season. Mike needs to be ready to take over the play calling. It's why I was saying last year, and got ridiculed for this by some, that Mike should have been calling the plays during the playoffs. The reason was because Moore is inexperienced and was trained, prior to Mike, for NFL Coaching by one of the biggest imbecile HCs in Garrett, and Linehan who couldn't adjust. Mike, on the other hand, has been coaching pro football in some capacity since 1993. He led the Packers to several NFCC games including with Favre in once instance and winning a SB in 2010. So, who should be calling the plays? A coach who is 34 years old and only became a coach because it was clear he wasn't a good QB in the pros and got taught by Garrett and Linehan? Or Mike? I think it's obvious.

Mike's calling card is his offensive skills.
Why hire him and let an OC run a completely different offense?

DT there are plenty to pick from, going Big Cat Lett just because his size would translate to this game....that alone maybe wins several games that we gave up 5+ ypc in.

the thing with this is JJ probably sees the problems and tries to fix them before the playoffs...not just go into the game and get manhandled in bpoth trenches so badley.

We are understanding the question differently. If you choose prime Emmitt that means redoing our entire offensive scheme. You would have to cut Zeke and Pollard and give him the ball 25 times a game. Prime Herschel, on the other hand, would be a great complimentary back, who could play an h-back role within our current offense, lining up in a two back pro set with Zeke or Pollard and catching passes out of the backfield.

First off, I wouldn’t have chose an RB for this current team because we have two good RBs and I don’t think any of our RBs in franchise history could’ve done much better behind our current OL. If I was going to pick an RB I certainly wouldn’t pick one that’s going to be a complementary player as you’re suggesting. If you have a chance to pick any player in franchise history in their prime I’m certainly not going to pick one that’s only going to be on the field part time.

If we had Emmitt in his prime on this current team you wouldn’t have to change our offensive scheme. We can’t cut Zeke because we’re paying him a lot of money this season but we can cut Pollard and use Zeke to spell Emmitt. Zeke would have a role similar to what Pollard had.

My first thought as well. If not Haley, someone else who could influence the game from the defensive line. Think that would have to be the most influential spot on current team other than QB. Since we've had one or two QB threads, figured might as well go somewhere else.

Come on man! Dak was running 15 yards down field, when he got his ankle rolled and his calf injury was a non-contact injury. Besides I already stated that the refs allow more hitting of so called "running QBs" whether they are in the pocket or not. Troy played BEFORE they passed all the skirts on QBs rules .. The real shift came in 2009 after Brady got hurt and missed most of the 2008 season on a low hit. Romo played his first 3 seasons under the "go ahead and hit 'em" rules and then spent the rest of his career in the skirt era. But his injuries? Two broken hands from hitting a defender's helmet on follow through, two broken collar bones from falling on his shoulder while being tackled, once herniated disc in his back (probably from playing too much golf and swinging too hard), two broken ribs from landing on the ball, and a fractured transverse process from taking a knee to his back. You know what you can't find on that list? "Concussion." Since Troy was a good bit bigger and stronger than Romo (and a lot better conditioned athlete) I would wager that with defenders unable to hit him up high or down low he would have held up just fine with just being tackled. So his head, back and knees would have been spared a lot of abuse if he was playing now.

Come on man, Aikman was running when his career ended with another concussion. Even under the current safety rules QBs still get injured and suffer concussions. A number of starting QBs missed games last season with injuries. Washington lost Ryan Fitzpatrick in the opener last season. Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray missed games with injuries. The Cowboys played against several backup QBs last season. As I mentioned Dak missed a game with an injury last season. If you don’t think QBs get injured today you’re not following along very closely.
