Recency bias is a thing i guess.
for the life of me I dont see the fascination but itis what it is

Sorry but none of them were close to being as good as Hofer Bob LillyWith this current team... Russell Maryland or leroi glover, lett perhaps
Troy aikman was a very good player but Roger Staubach could do more with less talent around him.Roger Staubach. A franchise quarterback fills in a lot of gaps.
I was close to saying Aikman, but Aikman couldn't dodge and run like Roger and doesn't have Roger's leadership qualities.
Aikman would get pissed off at you and not throw you the ball anymore.
I don't think that works with this generation of football players.
Roger had a way of inspiring teammates and getting the best out of them. And if he needed to fight, he wasn't a push over.
Defense is important, and there are any number of players from the past who could help this defense immensely (Deion, Haley, Randy White, Too Tall Jones, DeMarcus Ware, etc.)
But having a franchise quarterback who is clutch in critical games can't be overstated, especially when there's a thin line between winning and losing in the post-season.
And no one in Cowboys history had more effect on their team than Roger Staubach.Staubach, and it's not close. A QB just has way too much effect on a team to pick any other position.
Larry Allen. Man was a beast. Also Bob Hayes. He was flat out amazingly good.
Well we can add him to the list too! I don't care who it is as long as they wreak some havoc inside. That's the missing piece to our puzzle IMO.Sorry but none of them were close to being as good as Hofer Bob Lilly
I will certainly agree that's one of them we haven't used a first round draft pick on a defensive tackle in a dog's age.Well we can add him to the list too! I don't care who it is as long as they wreak some havoc inside. That's the missing piece to our puzzle IMO.

Every defense feared Roger because of his ability to inspire his team to play way above their heads at all times.
He had an iconic mystique similar to Tom Brady where players just believed and would walk through the fire for him.
You can't really explain it to people that didn't watch Roger play in the moment.
