I'll be surprised if we beat the Bears

Maybe I misunderstood. Weren't you saying a loss to the Bears wouldn't surprise you, but a blowout loss would?

What you've described here would suggest a blowout loss. Did I just miss the boat?

My opinion of the ultimate irony for this game...we score on Special Teams and they have issues.

Thank you, Mr. Obvious!

:D The same could be said about the mighty Bears, right?

If our defense was healthy and firing on all cylinders, I'd be a lot more happy to be playing the Bears on national television. Since we still 2 starters away from fielding our best defensive players, I'm very concerned about the damage even a poor Grossman can do to our defense which leaves our offense in the position of always having to catch up.

Also agree that a great defense trumps a great offense. But I also saw the Bear-KC game & came away thinking the Bears could be beaten if they played that way against us. But then, KC defense looked better then our defense. On the other hand, as the season moves on I believe our team and particularly our defense will get much better. The next time we play the Bears we might have the winning hand & end up playing for the NFC Championship game in Dallas.

I just can't get to worried about our defense facing the 28th ranked (by scoring) offense in the League. The Vaulted Bears defense kept San Diego to 14 points when that offense is averaging 14 points a game, and they kept that KC powerhouse offense to 10 when they are averaging only 6.5 points a game. This to me reads as average. I like taking the number one rated offense (again by scoring) into Chicago to face the 4th ranked defense.

I think this game stays close in the first half, but then gets blown wide open in the second half.

People thought we didn't have a chance in hell to beat the Colts either, then look what happened.

Every Cowboy fan always has apprehension before every game against a good team. It's natural. Hell, I get nervous before EVERY game, no matter who were playing.

Nah-AFC teams at TX Stadium generally don't fare well anyways. If Cundiff had hit that FG, everyone would have been saying how our front 7 manhandled that Broncos' O on T-Giving.

Last year, I would think we had little chance (not taking a stab at anyone last year). However, I do think this offense attacks a defense, rather than feeling it out. I think that might be our chance on Sunday.

should have been 21 or atleast 17. tommy harris jumped offsides and recovered a fumble at the bears 1 yardline

That is exactely how I feel too!

Dictate to the opposing defense, let them know it's coming, stop it if you can. If you can, you win the game...

The mantra has always been for quite sometime that defense wins Championships and the offense is just for show...

Well, if that is true...show us that offense, Garrett...

To me, he's going to be the X factor on their D(not Url)-how is he going to match up against Leonard Davis and Gurode, and vice versa? If he does have a good game, then it could open up the secondary to make plays.

I'll be surprised if we dont win. The Bears just are not that good. The perfect remedy for our poor showings on defense is playing against that Bears offense.

No one on the Bears can cover TO and he traditionally goes over 100 every time he plays against them, not to mention the best day of his career came 7 years ago in Soldier Field.

28-7.

No offense, but the most frustrating thing on these boards is WHY is everyone here so quick to blind homerism??

Ok...I'm sorry! The Cowboys will lose the game. They don't stand a chance against the mighty offense of the Bears...I feel sorry for the Cowboys...

If only Coach Parcells was here...

I suppose that depends on your particular point of view. I like the blind homerism. I like the knee jerk reactions. I even like the over the top criticism.

Not too crazy about posers...

I had an inkling that we would beat the Colts last season. But we were firing pretty well on both sides of tha ball at that time. The O was just getting revved up with Romo, and we hadn't fully felt the loss of Ellis yet.

I think this game is a toss up because our D hasn't really clicked yet, but our O has been spectacular. I won't be surprised by any outcome, unless we get blown out.

A Dallas victory wouldn't surprise me. Losing by 14+ points would.

That's what I mean bb. I asked you why this would surprise you and you responded with a scenario of how it could happen. Unless you meant Dallas can do those things.

IMO we have got to avoid giving them the ball. That is critical.
