Honestly... I am actually more suprised when we lose a game... but hey thats just me....

I am actually MORE suprised that the Commanders are 2-0.

That's what I mean bb. I asked you why this would surprise you and you responded with a scenario of how it could happen. Unless you meant Dallas can do those things.

IMO we have got to avoid giving them the ball. That is critical.

I'd be shocked if we saw a repeat of the New Orleans or Christmas Day game from last year. But I was shocked then, too.

So was I.

We can't let their defense take the ball away. That's how their offense scores. On a short field with emotion behind them.

I wouldn't kick it to Hester with a gun to my head.

Make them go 80 or more yards all night. If we ever needed the kickoffs Folk could do at Arizona it is this game. Sadly Soldier Field is not known for the ball flying. To me that means put it as high as possible and let the coverage get down there.

I don't fear long drives from this offense. Short ones scare the crap out of me.

I think we knock them in the mouth in the trenches and it gets away from Bears.

I think Bears are in big trouble...... 34-14

Hey... what is the protocol for playing along with posters that pretend to be Cowboys posters?

Just curious:D

Yeah, that slur never gets old. And that smiley face at the end really smooths things over. Bravo.

lol.

Out of curiosity, what gives? Given your usual spectrum of posts, the posts in this thread are clearly more positive than most. You starting to like this years squad, or what?

I felt the same way.

Then I watch Grossman against the Chiefs and Chargers - two teams with VERY exploitable secondaries, and I realize that the Bears have someone completely incompetent at the most important position on the field. You saw what Brady did to the Chargers secondary - and he didn't just do that because he's Tom Brady, he did that because they're dreadful. Grossman can't handle that. You stop their run game, you stop their team.

There's a chance he tunes it up against us. But that chance is small, from what I've seen. I've decided that if we don't beat ourselves with turnovers, we win his one going away.

I like the 'boys chances. I liked them last year if they had beat Seattle.

As quick and fast as their defense is, they're undersized. If you pound them all night with the running game and have constant clock-eating drives, they'll fold like a cheap suit.

I don't think it's the litmus test that's being billed, but I do think it's going to be a fun game to watch.

I'd love that strategy -- it's what you'd usually like to do against a quicker cover-2 team -- but I don't think we run it well enough. This is where I wish we had a true stud tailback.

And on Newman, even if he comes back, I don't think there's any way he's 100% right away. He might not even be 100% all year. But his first game, he'll be rusty at best.

Maybe I'm wrong, though. Like some of you have said, maybe I'm overestimating them.

Worried about the Bears? Damned straight. But we will get pressure, create sacks, and cause interceptions. We will completely shut down their meager running game, putting it all on 'Train wrecks' Grossman's shoulders and he will collapse from the pressure. Wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Griese late in the game.

Their D, while fearsome, will spend an inordinate amount of time on the field & be totally exhausted by the start of the fourth quarter. They also haven't faced an offense this powerful since the SB (no the Chargers don't quite count as they have yet to prove they are close to the team they were last year). By the time they realize they're overmatched, it will be too late.

Cowboys win easily in a 2nd half blowout.

Fix bayonets and charge, baby!

I am a worry wart so I get everything your saying. I do think it will be a close tight battle.

I would think it will come down to turnovers. Which ever defense gives the other offense easy scoring opportunities is going to win.

I think many are underestimating the bears. They are a good team. I did like our chances going there last year and with the confidence romo has right now I like our chances this week. I do think berrian is a heck of a player and urlacher and harris are just studs.

I think running the ball will be very difficult, I can see Tommie Harris kicking kosiers butt all over the field and disrupting every running play. Throw in there speed and we will struggle with the outside runs.

I think the key to the game is just going to be can our defense hold them off long enough and finish them, or will we get the group that couldnt finish in Seattle last year, the year before and washington in 05.....

If we play back and forth and have a close 14-10 type of game that will play to the bears. I know if it is a one posession game in the fourth and they have the ball I will be a nervous wreck because I am still not convinced this secondary and front 7 can finish anyone out, I just feel like their is a pass intereference waiting to happen every play....

Again I am a worry wart.

Like most things in life, it's day to day and week to week. Certainly most of us bought into this team last November, esp after the game in the Meadowlands. Then reality hit us with a 2x4. This year, optimism has to do with the general state of the NFC, the injured players we hope to get back at close to full strength, Tank (gulp), the Eagles' and Giants' troubles, and the good fortune to play the Bears in September and not December. And outside of New England, we (seemingly) picked the right year to be playing the AFC East. Seattle surprised a lot of people two years ago, and so can we.
