How does that support the idea that he performed poorly in both games? I'll hang up and listen.
That's not my contention, and you know it. He played OK against the worst offense in the league. He looked like a high school player against a decent offense. Obviously, his body of work is small, but there's reason for concern.

He fell onto a pile on half of those, he's not currently a starting caliber player.
How does that support the notion that he was a liability against the Giants? I know it's your time to shine around here but you were out in front of your skis on this one. Admit it and move on.

I would love to see some actual film of Jaylon yesterday by those capable to do so. From my perspective he seemed to be around the ball most of the time. The only difference this week was that the DL was not doing squat to help. It was almost like there was no DL and the LBs were encountering the broncos OL the entire game. 250lb men going up against 320lb men all day long in that altitude is a recipe for what you saw.

Good points...I don't see how PFF would necessarily have anything against Jaylon. His dead last PFF rating is kinda bad.

I agree...he's pretty much like a rookie coming back from a horrific injury! It's a great story.

Take anything from PFF with a large grain of salt.

Ok, cool. Let me go away from my desk and get information FOR you even though I'm telling you where to find it. **** yourself.

Real grown up post there...what is the matter, can't prove it. You have time to post it from your desk, so you don't have time to get it...think I will put you on ignore for what you just told me to do. Real mature...oh, your desk, you must mean your 1st grade desk....

The DT's were invisible, and the DE's not named Lawrence got zero pressure. The LB's were missing tackles. Byron Jones is still trying to find his way to the field he was so lost. Heath keeps biting hard on play action and then getting burned over the top. We ended up the game with multiple rookies playing a lot of downs in the secondary. Just a clusterf all the way around. Sure tackling is one of the biggest requirements of the defense we run, and we didn't get it last night.

Yeah...different breed of RBs coming at him this game than was the case against Giants...not sure if Lee playing out of his mind against the Giants and then also struggling against Broncos means that Jaylon lost some of his protective buffer. Net result was he looked like a dude who hadn't played in a long long time. Hopefully it was more a mental thing than physical as at least the mental can be more quickly improved. Certainly him going through this baptism by fire was never supposed to be the plan but here we are.

excellent point. I also noticed in NY game Jaylon was lined up very close to Lee (maybe only three feet away). In Denver game I noticed Jaylon was in normal alignment. Dallas might be challenging him to see when he regresses and then pull back some.

People today are so damn impatient. Too much required instant gratification is required. If a player isn't playing at a HOF level from the moment he steps on the field as a rookie, he is a bust or a turd of a player.

It is a foolish and annoying way of thinking. Players need reps, film work, practice, and snaps. Also, when they are coming back from major injury, especially the first one, expectations should be modest.....definitely, if the player is just a rookie.

nothing but an agenda from the OP. On a day when outside of Lawrence everyone on the D stank he picks out Jaylon Smith.

Smith struggled, you can't deny that. He is still playing with a brace and getting the feel for NFL speed. He has not impressed against the run and is sluggish changing directions.

With that said, he still needs to be out there with the rest of the young defense to work through it. He will get better, maybe not by mid-season or even by the end of the year but he will progress.

He may never be the same guy but give him the chance to develop. This is not an overnight process......

I get that and hope for that, but yesterday he looked like an undersized, small school rookie.

Yeah, he should be a backup really and would be if not for Hitchens injury. But let's not pile on the kid. He's being asked to do too much right now IMO
