I'll eat crow on Jaylon (for now)

He is playing at 80-85% AND in just 2 games into his career.

Patience is going to be required with Jaylon. 2018 is the year we will see the guy you saw at Notre Dame.

This shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody should it?

So we wasted a 2nd round pick on a guy who's might not be effective until year 3 of his 4 year contract? Great move!

Sean Lee and Jaylon Smith Tied for sixth in the league in Combined Tackles according to ESPN.

He sucks so bad...he is in the top ten in combined tackles right now.

In other words...he is not as bad as people think he is and should only get better.

Because that's the length of time he's guaranteed to be here?

The length and time he will be here won't change if he plays well starting this year or starting next year.

That's my point.

Dont shoot the messenger

I think he'll get better personally.

Lol Jaylon had 10 tackles and lead the team. (@80-90% nerve) idk why the overreaction in game 2? Many have stated , myself included, that he will get better as the season goes on. Atleast thats what we think. The magic year to see the "real" JS is 2018. By real I don't mean notre dame Jaylon. He could possibly not end up beeing what we think he will. But its way too early to say it's time to worry.

Lets just all cancel the season and go for the #1 draft pick :D

He shouldn't be playing as much right now but we have no choice. I know he is doing the best he can right now.

People overrated a lot of guys on this team especially the youth. Some of these guys just aren't ready. Who's to say they won't be ready by years end? I can't say......but as of right now? They look like rookies....like they should.

It's a bet that when he finally comes around in year 3, he will be playing at a All-Pro level which is what his ceiling was considered pre-injury at Notre Dame.

I fully knowledge it's a bet.

It some ways it's a similar bet to the 2nd rounder they spent on Bruce Carter, a supposed 1st round talent coming off of a ACL and who was known to coast a bit in college on his pure athletic ability.

Dang....he's dead last in run defense! That's not good. Come on Jaylon

Listen, I was cynical of the Jaylon Smith pick and I've always been pessimistic of him being anything close to what he was at Notre Dame pre-injury.

Having said that, the amount of complaining about Jaylon this week is just reaching ridiculous levels.

Accept the front office believes he can become a great player, likely in 2018, and that he is going to take his lumps looks any rookie, not the mention a rookie coming back from an injury not maybe 1 or 2 other people in the history of the NFL have come back from.

Good points...I don't see how PFF would necessarily have anything against Jaylon. His dead last PFF rating is kinda bad.

I agree...he's pretty much like a rookie coming back from a horrific injury! It's a great story.

That was disturbing. He didn't belong on the field. Couldn't cover, got bowled over, no strength or lateral quickness.

They should IR him and hope he can recover. I'm afraid this might be as good as it ever gets.

He was decent-good week 1 and the Broncos realized we have one real threat on our d-line (DLaw) and the rest are all mediocre players, so they focused on DLaw and chipped the rest so they could get after our linebackers. Even Lee didn't look that good yesterday.
