The problem is that our owner and coach doesn't understand that when you rebuild, you rebuild! I agree with your analysis but I don't think it ends with QB. We need new blood at receiver, the offensive line and our secondary. Parcells still believes you can win with old veterans and maybe you can be competitive and sneak us into the playoffs with that strategy but you are not going to contend unless you are patient and you develop your team the right way.

oakland has a whole history of trying to win with aging vets.

That was funny.

Henson got injured. Call it an excuse. I don't care. Before he got injured I watched him play and he led us on 2 scoring drives and nearly a game winning third.

He blows chunks.

Listen Buddy, when did i say Henson blows. I like Henson, but unlike you, i'm not blinded by love. He just, didn't like good in pre-season. And to most people they saw the same thing. But,whatever if you think he's the next great one, yeah i hope so.

There is obviously something wrong with the kid. He couldnt even get on the field during the wanning preseason games.

He failed at Baseball

He is not doing too well at Football

I wonder what he will fall back on next if he ever decides things in football is not working right.

This franchise needs to move on from drafting Baseball players, being cheap and trying to circumvent the REAL way you get a great young prospect.

Follow the mold other successful teams such as...errr..you know what im trying to say
I don't see this failure of Henson or Romo yet. Unlike some I can't spot that with someone else on the field.

I am all for Parcells drafting someone blue chip. I will never have a problem with that as long as I live. I believe we stole Drew Henson. If we can get someone with more upside do it. I am not loyal to any player over the good of the team.

I just think the scrap heap philosophies for our young QBs are a little premature.

No one, not one single person said Drew Henson was the answer for today's game.

Why is that so hard to figure out?

The author said it was foolish to not groom Henson more last year so that we had more potential options this year.

A more mobile, prepared QB is a bad option?
Hos, the last thing Parcells wants is options at qb, it's Drew Bledsoe or death. Period.

From one who knows......The best way to develop a QB.....Is to let him sit, change his grip, change his throwing motion, change his release point, change his foot work, make him watch 4000 videos, throw 29,000 balls through a tire, By Gawd he'll be ready when I need him. Put into US Saving Bonds/

Oh, cool...I get to weigh in on my favorite subject.

I supported Henson. Still do.

That said, even if Parcells thinks Henson has no skills, Parcells decisions about the QB position leave one scratching their head.

He values, beyond belief, a ball control, conservative offense where he wants his QB to not make mistakes and to manage the game...

So, he sticks with QC his first year...who was AWFUL at protecting the ball...and awful at decision making.

Parcells goes into the next season, with a very fragile QC..cuts him and starts Vinny...probably the only guy on the planet who was as bad as QC at protecting the ball...

Then, he brings in Bledsoe...who has a history of what? Bad decision making..and not protecting the ball.

The game plans for the last 3 seasons are as if, in fact, a rookie QB is starting at QB.

The fact is...with the exception of the first part of this season (and as I felt and stated a few weeks ago...eventually Bledsoe will play down to the level his has demonstrated for 13 years) if you simply look at the play of our QB's...their number and decision making look like that of a rookie QB...

And...all of this done, with ZERO upside...because we are not developing a young QB.

If ya ask me, that's pretty dumb.

It took you forever to make it home from the game. Must have had to throw up a lot.

I can empathize.

Great post.

Long drive back from CT.

Hi ya Musie.

Impressions. They have the better team.

Games are won by playmakers. They have more of those than we do.

The O-line was/is awful.

Our D is pretty darn good. But we still don't get enough pressure on the QB.

I'm kinda blown away that we seemed to come out flat, AGAIN.

And the few of us who voted that we didn't trust Bledsoe, in that pool that was posted here a few weeks back, are starting to look pretty smart.

Yours?

I would just rather have someone which felt Football was his first priority and not something to fall back on.

As long as Bledsoe is here, I dont think he will draft a quarterback, but I could be wrong.

This team would be 3-9 with Henson and this line and no RB.

He can't even beat out Tony Romo - Maybe fix the damn Oline might help. We can't run or protect the QB much.

Gurode flat out caused a fumble getting blown out....terrible all around

i didn't trust bledsoe when we got him, but like many, thought he did well up until a few weeks ago. since then we've all seen regression to what we now have.

not much.

OH!! I forgot.....make him learn 10,000 plays sitting on his arse. ;)

And on top of all that, you keep him on the bench an extra season every time the media mentions his name. That'll teach 'em all!

Parcells had a great opportunity to assess Henson during the latter part of last year. I'm still somewhat intrigued by what he has to offer. Unfortunately, whether Henson is ready or not, I doubt he'll get a chance while Parcells remains the coach.

It's a shame because we'll never know if this kid can be a player in this league.
