Nors...I'm not suggesting Henson is the "answer".

But..take a look at three season of qb's with Parcells...add up the numbers and average them out...and I'll guarantee, they'll look similar to the numbers of a rookie QB.

Take a look at the game planning for these past three years...and I guarantee ya, if you didn't know who was starting at QB, you'd think the game plans were being set for a rookie.

That said, why not start a young guy...I'd gladly take a look at Romo too...
Juke, before you got here Jimmy40 brought up Kyle Orton in Chicago.

Rookie Head Coach. Rookie QB expected to be the 3rd string guy. Bad team with nowhere near the off season we had.

Yet the prevailing philosophy of many is still avoid our young guys at all costs. I don't get that. Young guys can be developed if you give them a chance.

Your take?

I think I need to put this in my sig line so that when I say stuff people will know I already realize this.

As I said in another thread.

I am not merely frustrated with QB THIS year. In my opinion we never should have been in a position to rely on retreads, reaches and gambles at QB.

We've had success with blue chip QBs. Stick with what works.

I still believe Henson is a blue chip QB and if Parcells cannot get the potential out of him then he should hang his head in shame.

What makes our QB status harder to stomach, is that instead of maximizing the amount of time Henson spent learning and executing the playbook in the off-season, we changed his throwing motion. 4000 plus passes later, we hire a QB who has the exact same throwing motion we deemed unacceptable in Henson.

Had nothing to do with a statue trying to run a stretch running play.

Just turn and pitch him the ball... geez.

We run outside twice per game.... Pitch it!

Put Henson in - he's the anser - LOL

Fix the Oline and implement a RUNNING Game? eh?

Gurode today cost us 7 -
I know Hos, I watched AJohnson get blown up 2yds in the backfield on the same running play on the first drive. What's your agenda here to tell us how bad Gurode is and how good Johnson is. The fact is we need a center on this team who doesn't get manhandled

Bledsoe's numbers are better than last 2 years QB's

And I bet this years team has a worse running record and a porous Oline. Put Henson in and we are in the Bush sweepsteak's!

Good to see the knee jerkers exposed.... It was no real secret.

You could say JJ was just as much at fault.......He could have at least tried to fall on it.

Best comment I've heard was by Phil Simms a few weeks ago...to paraphrase, "I see a number of people holding a belief that you can't start a rookie QB in this league. I don't agree. Week after week, I see veteran QB's making rookie mistakes"

He went on to say that in fact, he had very little difficult in his first year with picking up the blitz because it's a reaction play. He had a bit more trouble with plays where he had to go through his progressions.

I'll take that from a guy who knows a thing or two about QB play in the NFL.

As an aside, if a rookie QB, or a young QB possesses above average talent, it opens up the game more because the defense has to respect that talent. That is something that doesn't show up in the box score or the final stats.

Eli Manning isn't a great QB (yet)...but he can make some darn good throws...so the defense HAS to account for that. Whether he completes those passes or not, hardly matters. It's one more thing for the defense to account for.

Another pretty good QB by the name of Namath said that the most important play in his superbowl was an incomplete pass to Maynard...Maynard had beaten the vaunted Colts secondary...and they spent the rest of the game afraid that Namath might bomb them with the long ball...and instead, Namath picked them apart underneath the deep coverage.

This morning you said Bledsoe was an elite QB and he would be the reason we win this game, while you were warned his record in big games isn't that good.

So much for that....

Hellllo Mr One Track Mind... :D

I didn't ask you about Bledsoe...my comment was about three years worth of QB decisions under Parcells.

I drove right past New Haven on the way home...Dang, I coulda bought a pizza.

parcells is the one to pull hensen while winning at the 1/2.
parcells is the one who'd not give hensen OR romo time when it just didn't .

It was tied at the half last US Thanksgiving and Henson was terrible.

Da Bears arent asking Orton to do much. They have a decent running game and a hell of a defense, they show up every week. Orton isnt doing anything that is making this team winners. We won despite Carter to.

As for the comments regarding Kyle Orton, um remember he is only starting because Rex Grossman was injured and the Bears had no one else.

We were losing at the half today and Bledsoe was horrible.

It was classic stubborn Parcells (last Thanksgiving).

Did I say we needed to ask Henson to be Peyton Manning?

Our defense stinks?

The bottom line is there is nothing to the "ruin the young QB by playing him" nonsense.

Orton was a great pick up. Many forget that he was an early season Heisman pick last year that fell off the radar with weaker play later in the season. He still put up respectable numbers and scouts universally praised his passing mechanics as being flawless.
