"If anybody can research and find any time I complained about a team running up a score, I'd like to see it. If I get beat bad I look at it as my fault. I coached the team." -Jimmy Johnson

Play 60 minutes. And if you don't come to play, you deserve to get your arse ripped. I would be far more offended at what the Skins put out there today than anything the Patriots did.

Sounds like you've had this problem before, Hos. :D

Have you been hanging out with Brittney Spears or Paris Hilton? :D
I love this story.

Years ago when I was in the Fire Department we had a family get together. My cousin, Scott, asked if he could talk to me. He then described having a "kidney infection." I asked him why he thought so. He then said he had this "drip." I laughed and told him he had gonorrhea. He had no idea what it was. I said, "it's a venereal disease."

He said that was impossible. So I asked him if he was a virgin. He was 16, it was possible right? He said, "no, but the girl was."

Yeah right!

So I tell him we can go to Mexico and I'll get him some penicillin. We go out to tell our folks that we're going to Mexico. They asked what for. I am thinking discreet, but Scott says, "I got VD!" Just as big as day.

His Mom starts asking if it was this girl. I said, "Scott says she was a virgin." His Mom says, "she lives in a trailer with 5 guys."

So we go to Mexico and buy him a shot. His Dad gave it to him. Looked like a golf ball in his butt.

Where in my post did I say "Maybe these Whining threads will stop now?"

Did I mention that anywhere in my post?

Go look again.

See anything like that in there?

Ok then. Next time use that "comebac" (the sad attempt it was) on a post that actually mimicks then one you made in that other thread.

K, Chico?

You told me (after I complained about a thread) that I didn't have to click on it.

You didn't just take a similar shot at this OP with your original post?

As for the "comebac," did you coin that term yourself? I think its funny how you can use same term to describe your comebaCK... and whats with the Chico?

1. You said "Maybe now all the McFadden threads will end?" as if it's your job (that you hate) to click on every McFadden thread created. I said you didn't have to click on any McFadden threads. You can simply ignore them. Do not click them.

2. It absolutely is not the same thing. I didn't say "I'm tired of all these whiner threads" or anything like that. I merely pointed out that I was tired of bad sportsmanship from the pats and anyone who likes that kind of football. Didn't say a thing about threads complaining about the complainers. Not a single thing.

3. Did I type it w/o the "K"? Didn't even notice. I was feeding my dogs while typing.

4. You got a problem with me calling you Chico, Chico?

My only issue with it is if Randy Moss blows out a knee running a fly in a 52-0 game, was it worth it?

That said, as long as the opponent has their starters in and is throwing the ball it is fair game.

You want mercy, shut it down yourself.

It's stupid. I'm sick of people whining about the Patriots scoring with their backups or running the ball on 4th and 1 with a big lead.

Get real. When did the NFL become a freakin' Sunday School Picnic or a Pansy League where you give a damn about the other team's feelings?

This is professional athletics! When the Red Sox are up by 10 runs in the final inning, does anyone expect the batter to simply stand there and take all the pitches? Why are we okay with batters still trying to hit the ball or pitchers still trying to strike someone out in a blowout in baseball? Why are we okay with NBA teams still playing defense and still dunking the basketball when the game is a blowout? Yet in the NFL these days we think the team with the lead should just start taking a freakin' knee.

Personally, I agree with the fans in England who were booing the G-men today for kneeling down the last few plays. I'd love to see the victory formation outlawed and teams required to actually run a play every play till the game is over.

NE puts in their backups...should the coach tell his second and third string guys to NOT try to score? Please...these are professional athletes...they are trained to try and score. So it's 4th down...the choice was kick a fg and run up the score or run a play and give the Skins a chance to be men and stop you...or do you think they should have taken a knee and just handed the ball back to the Skins who were still playing their starters and trying to score?

These are professional athletes. It's up to the losing team to freakin' play the game and stop someone. The Commanders never ran up the white flag and quit, putting in scrubbs and running every play to kill the clock and go home, so why should the Patriots do it? Just to let the score be a little closer and save a grown man playing a professional sport feel better about his putrid performance?

Sorry...I don't have a problem with kicking a FG, like Dallas did a few years back with a big lead, in order to let a guy set a record, and I don't have a problem with the winning team handing the ball to a running back with a huge lead on 4th and one instead of kicking a FG or kneeling down so the other team can try to score some points. Maybe I'd have a problem with it if the winning team was up by 52 points and ran play action on 4th and 1 to throw a td pass and laugh it up on the sidelines, but even then I'd get over it quickly because the other professional team is supposed to do a job too.

Maybe Joe Gibbs ran off the field more out of embarrassment for the team he's responsible for and their pathetic effort than because NE hurt his feelings...I hope that's true, because if it was because he got his feelings hurt, then I have even less respect for him. Grow some stones and put together a better game plan or face the music.

I'm an old man, but I really don't get this whole "running up the score" and "classless" crap, no matter who the two teams are. Philly once faked the kneeldown in the final seconds of a game in order to throw a TD pass against us so Buddy Ryan could rub it in Tom Landry's face...a fake kneel down after a real kneel down...now that's a little classless...but the defense still could have made a freakin' play.

Running the ball on 4th and 1 is not unsportsmanlike. This is not little league and we're not talking about 7 year old boys.

Damn right Wayne! Well said.

Teams getting mauled should be more embarassed.

Gibbs did an onside and was throwing till the end. He deserved all he had fed down his cakehole.

What is a team supposed to do when they are down 35+? Not try?

Passing is the quickest way to score, FYI.

That does not guarantee that the other team will take out their starters either.

If you put in your 2nd string and the other team continues to run with their starters then you have a legitimate beef.

At that point, the opposing coach is not classless, he is a moron. Can you imaging if Brady gets his ACL blowns by a 2nd stringer in garbage time?

But until you 'give up' the game the opposing coach is more than entitled to keep the foot on the throttle, even if not particularly smart.

This is real simple, if one team doesn't want the other team running up the score on them, then they need to stop them from doing it. If they can't stop them from doing it, then that's just tough, take your butt kicking like a man and don't freakin' whine about it.

Actually I imagine it every day.

Dreaming of it would be a better description though.

You are totally disregarding the word "respect".

"esteem for or a sense of the worth or excellence of a person, a personal quality or ability, or something considered as a manifestation of a personal quality or ability"

That word does pertain to sports.

I am not complaining about running up the score, I'm just mad about how they are completely brushing off the respect of the game.

By showing no sportsmanship whatsoever.

But we're talking about Bill Belicheat here, so we shouldn't expect anything more.

No one cares what your sick of... I am sick of people who constantly stick up for cheating stuck up classless pieces of garbage cheap shot artists like the Pats. So does that mean you should stop posting? No this is america and everyone has a right to their own thoughts even if yours are hair brained.

I am sick of people defending cheaters and ego manics...there is running up the score and then there is going for it on 4th down in 100% field goal range, up by 5 possesions, with 9 minutes left, patriots = scum. stop defending them.

if your tired of the whining then using your own logic (by which you defend belicheck) you yourself should do something about it (ie stop reading the posts) instead of complaining about it....but you won't

Indeed.

I would love nothing more than this BS biting that team in the *** big time. It would be almost hilarious if they went from having one of the potential best if not the best seasons ever to losing in the first round of the playoffs with Brady watching from the hot tub because he was smacked in the 4th Q of a blowout.

Hoodie genius my ***.

As Roger Goodell would say "coaches are held to a higher standard than players."

Chad Johnson, imo, does not disrespect the game at all, celebrations are part of the game. what else has he done?

Owens on the other hand, yes, he has somewhat disrespected the game when he was with the eagles. But he wanted a more money, he was playing at a hall of fame caliber for the eagles and was not getting paid for how well he was playing. He literally took that team and put them over the hump.
