I wont make any excuses for the turnovers. They cant happen in those situations.

The thing I dont get really is the game plan when we're up 27-3 in the 3rd quarter. I love the fact that Red wants to be aggressive but with a big lead whats wrong with dialing it down and pounding/protecting the ball? At some point you have to tone down the pace the way we used to do with a lead and Emmit. How about some safer high percentage routes, screens and dump offs? You cant ask a QB to throw the ball 47 times a game in a down the field passing attack and not make his share of mistakes IMO.

The media really pisses me off. One second Tony is a choking goat, the next hes the toughest SOB in the league. Now he's a goat again and they're in the locker room asking the players if they still believe in him. How may other QB's in the league have to deal with that crazy **** week after week?

Im mad and Im dissapointed as hell but I still believe in him and Im betting everyone in the lockeroom believes in him too regardless of what the media tries to instigate.

I said something similar about the dialing down part you metioned above in the Romo RIP thread but that got swallowed in a sea of flaming hate between posters. I agree with what you said. We could have ran the ball more to try some things, punt deep, force them to have make long scoring drives, let the D do their thing as they were doing well.

Wait until Romo is gone. I for one am not looking forward to the Jerry QB draft and insane FA QB pickups. Anyone remember the period of tragic comedy which occurred between Aikman and Romo ?

that was a mixture of jerry and bill.

you know that.

bill bringing in vinny and bledsoe

The thing that is most depressing is that if we do not succeed with Romo. Then it sets this team back multiple years. The likes of Witten and Ware aren't getting any younger. We need to win now.

Take your head out of the sand and we are going no where with Romo at the helm.

I like a positive opinion and all but how long can we put our faith in this guy.

A broken clock is right twice a day as well and Romo is a great example.
Please feel free to exit bandwagon. No please, really.

and there is nothing saying it wouldnt be as equally futile this time around. At the very least we know what we have in Romo, a guy thats going to win you far more games than hes going to lose for you.

He is by no means perfect but take a look around the league, how many starting QB's would you take over Romo? 4 maybe 5?

Ever wonder how inadequate this team might look without Romo?

Yes. But I also see how inconsistent this team is with Romo. I will agree that this year, he gives us our best chance to win. But I'm not going to sit here and say that I wouldn't pass up on an opportunity to improve this team for the future. You have posters on this forum talking about how they will rise and sink with Romo. That to me is ridiculous talk. I'm rooting for the franchise success, and if Romo is sinking the ship, then he needs to get OFF the ship.

I'm still trying to figure out why all of these "fans" don't just pick another team.

Which fans? The ones that support Romo 100% or the ones that support the Cowboys 100%?

I don't think Garrett had a gameplan after we were up 24 points...because if he did ROmo wouldn't of been flinging the ball around like it was anybodys to catch....sad

It went beyond just Quincy, Vinny, & Bledsoe. Don't forget the other merry-go-round members like Hutchinson, Leaf and Henson.

I don't think Jerry has gained the ability to better select players and expect a return to the chaos once Romo is gone.

^ This. We all know Romo can be a cowboy with the ball, well, everyone but Garrett apparently. Guess he just wants to pad his stats or something. I think the smart call is to play ball-control and get out of there with a W.

It is hard to defend him. He makes the same mistakes, however he makes some great plays. I was very upset earlier. I will have to say he was a joke today during the second half, but overall I believe in him. Either that or I am dumb for being optimistic he will learn from it.

I dont recall seeing anyone say anything of the sort.

If a better option presents itself by all means... However, there are 25 other teams in this league that would start Romo over their guy in a heartbeat.

It amazes me how folks have forgotten how depressing the Quincy/Hutch/Henson/Bledsoe era was. I'll take Romo and his every so often turd game over that mess anyday.

By that logic, why watch the games? Fans can't change the outcome one way or the other, so why get excited or upset either way?

Huh?

Don't you understand the difference between being excited and believing in someone?

I'm excited because I'm a Cowboys fan. Regardless who is at quarterback, if they're involved in a close game, my heart is going to beat fast because I want them to win. When they lose, I'm upset.

But what does that have to do with "believing" in a player? And what does my "belief" have to do with whether they actually win and lose.

Please don't apply your logic, or lack thereof, and as if it's mind. I'm capable of explaining myself, thank you. :)

I did. I started to reply then but decided it wasn't worth a response.

Romo is a good QB. I'm not denying that. I would rather have him than some of the other losers in the league. So we agree there. But that doesn't mean that I have to be satisfied. I want Dallas to return to and win the Super Bowl. However, I don't believe he is capable of winning consecutive games against good teams in a playoff atmosphere.

Therefor, I am in favor of the Cowboys looking for an alternate solution to provide a greater winning experience than we have had with Romo.
