I'm sure this is not what Quincy Carter had in mind 8 years ago

Interesting stuff, Hos. Thanks.

And it makes sense now that I think about it. If Quincy didn't look to be a much better player in TC, it's not at all a stretch to think they'd be willing to go with Vinny, Henson, and Romo. Why keep wasting time on a guy who hasn't developed the way you wanted him to entering his 4th year?

Perhaps then the reason they were so upset at having to cut Quincy is that they DID think he had a shot at performing at such a level in camp, before the failed drug test. I remember Jerry raving about the way QC was looking in minicamps, so maybe him and Bill had high hopes.

But of course, Jerry isn't always 100% honest with the media...
That is exactly the key. It was his 4th year and Parcells was either going to be sold or Quincy was gone. Look how fast it happened once Camp started. He was the same old Quincy and enough was enough.

Think about this too, how fast after he was released did Vinny sign? He was promised he'd have a chance to start here. The plan was in the works from the minute the 2003 season ended. You don't add 2 QBs unless the starter or the backups are a serious liability.

And yet no QB outside of Aikman the HOFr, has surpassed his play off season. So sad, how could such a sorry QB accomplish so much with so little talent? I think Romo may need 4 HOF receivers, a half of fame offensive line, a HOF coach, a HOF running back to actually surpass Quincy's play off year.

We'll see.

Call him what you want. He's done as much as Romo's done, with far less talent, being a drug head and all, I'd be embarrassed if I were Romo.

QC went to two probowls, won the NFC East with a 13-3 record, and went to the second round of the playoffs?

Learn something new everyday, I guess.

I said no QB has surpassed his season, pay attention please.

13-3 with far more talent, and a quick exit out of the playoffs, not impressive.

Not in the post I was responding to. Maybe you should pay attention.

First of all the Omaha Beef?:laugh2: Second, if this guy could have kept clean he prolly could have made a nice living as a backup in the NFL.

Quincy Carter is back in football, playing for the Abilene Ruff Riders of the Indoor Football League. The former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback, who was arrested in February on a DWI charge in Texas, led the squad to its first win of the season Monday over the Odessa Roughnecks. Carter finished 18-of-31 for 235 yards passing and five touchdowns. The 31-year-old Carter earns the league standard of $200 per game, plus a $50 bonus for every win. His next start is Saturday against the Omaha Beef. -- Atlanta Journal-Constitution
That sounds like just enough money to keep him high until the next game.

It's amazing that the great Romo has done no more as far as the team goes, than the hated Quincy Carter. Well done Romo, Garrett and Jerry the clown.
I simply don't agree with you at all. We were never even a contender or had high expectations at all with Crankcase at the helm. Romo makes us a contender.

Your embarrassment should be in this line of thinking.

Ridiculous.

I never could understand the Cowboy nationwide scorn for Quincy Carter.

Can someone explain it to me?

You fall on your head climbing out of bed? Quincy didn't win a post season game. The 2003 season has not been surpassed? In what math concept (or is it meth concept) is 10-6 > 13-3?

First you explain to me why he was viewed as a good QB, because for the life of me I never saw it. No mediocre player was ever defended like he was that I have ever seen.

It can't be explained.

Long time no see. Where ya been hiding?

Working, and burned out on the Cowboys. I did not know if I was even going to be able to hang in there this year.

But the TO release has just renewed my faith.

Man, when it was announced I almost started speaking in tongues.:laugh1:

I can't say all is right in the Cowboy world, but at least it looks as if better days may be ahead.

He wasn't the highest bust we've ever had in terms of draft position, but he's arguably the worst pick Jerry Jones has ever made. Too much visibility too fast for a guy who was not ready nor would ever be for the pro game - all because JJ had to have his pet cat while everyone else screamed that he would claw the furniture, shred the drapes and pee in the plants.

The 2001 draft was probably the worst draft this franchise has seen in many years.

There wasn't nationwide scorn. Half the people defended him like they would their own mother.

Oh my bad, Romo did? Romo only had an equal year in terms of play off accomplishments, but never surpassed, as I said.

So Romo should be embarrassed to share that arena with a no body, who had no talent around him.

Romo with all the talent, should've at least been to the NFC championship.

I doubt it. In the same draft, we drafted a safety (can't remember his name) who did absolutely nothing. At least Quincy Carter led this team to a 10-6 and the playoffs. Many other quarterbacks and draft picks have done less.

Would that be the great Tony Dixon...Woodson's supposed heir apparent back then?!

Who wins a playoff game first, QC or Romo?
