Very curious to see what people think and where Dallas fits.

In no order the 5 worst franchises, and I base this on the lack of postseason success are:

Cleveland
Chicago
Raiders
Panthers
Cowboys

NYG and Jacksonville are right there. Washington, Detroit and Buffalo have graduated.

What do you guys think?
Jacksonville is worse than Dallas by a mile.

on alot things i would agree this is everyones favorite tactic, but in this case it was a very clear shift in the FO, why would you start in the middle of it...if your judging this FO in its structure when would you say they started?
Honestly? The personnel philosophy has changed significantly from the days that Larry Lacewell was running our personnel department vs Will McClay. And it was different when we had Jeff Ireland or Tom Ciskowski overseeing things.our approaches to free agency and the draft has shifted over time.

Yes, Jerry and Stephen have been here for the entire time period as well, but at the same time I don’t think how the team performed during the Gailey /Campo years has much to do with our current situation.

There’s no way around trying to eliminate the bias when we are trying to select a time period. And frankly it doesn’t even matter that much. I’m just worried about what this team does going forward.

Sounds about right.

Panthers may be starting to get it right, tho.

Buffalo Minnesota Carolina Cleveland Arizona Jacksonville Tennessee Houston Detroit ….any franchise that’s been at this for decades with Zero SB trophies & parades is stealing the fans $$ .

Especially when you compare them to Pittsburgh SF Dallas Kansas City Miami ( 17-0 ) in the 70’s . Trophies show me the trophies .
You mean like 3 decades?

Caught a little hate still. Some guys here still think it’s 1995.
I mean its hard for me to think of a bottom 5 that does not include the Jets. Its not just the massive playoff drought but that they now have drafted 2 QBs who bombed out and went elsewhere and suddenly looked very good. That speaks to a level of mismanagement that is rare in the NFL.

I think Dallas matches the mismanagement of any.

The Jax that was a super bowl contender in 17, and played in a championship game? The Jax team that is 8-8 since 97 in the playoffs? The one that won a playoff game in 2022?

They may not be a better team right now, but they are a much better org.

They have 6 winning seasons in the last 20 years

Years since last conference championship game…

Cleveland 32 years
Miami 32 years
Dallas 29 years…

So that’s the 3rd worst drought in the NFL right now.

For context:
Jets 14 years. Chicago 14 years. Arizona 9 years. Jacksonville 7 years. Carolina 9 years. Raiders 22 years.

Please be honest.
That’s pretty interesting. The Texans have never been to a conference championship game. At least that’s what I just received from the Internet.

My Google machine tells me Houston has been around for 22 years. 6-8 in the playoffs over that time. The Cowboys are 4-10 in the playoffs over the same time frame.

I wasn’t disputing what you said. I just found it interesting that Texans never went to a championship game. I’m going to have to look up the Oilers

You entirely missed the point. Hope is the point. A chicago fan can look to the future and have legitimate reason to hope the team can get a lot better.
Every season brings new hope. Whether you like it or not, Ben Johnson is just as much an unknown quantity as Brian Schottenheimer. anytime there is a change at HC, I am hopeful. If I lacked hope, which is clear you do, I'd find something else to do with my time.
