He can't be tagged. That was part of his contract.
Well he better sign a heavily incentive loaden contract then. If hes not willing to do that he's not worth the 50-100 mil. it would take to sign him to a long term deal.

Sign him now before he racks up 10+ sacks. All of the people ragging him now will be fighting (bidding) over him next year. Don't hesitate.

That's fine, but it's immaterial. The point here is that an employer of a major brand asked their employee to stop making them look bad for signing him. He failed. All he has had to do is go out there and say boring football speak like he is coached to say. "Brady is a tough competitor. I look forward to playing against him." The end. No bad publicity. He can't do that, so he is either stupid or insane.

Who knows what else he can't control. Do you want to risk that kind of potential dead cap money on a guy who can't do something as simple as give a boring interview? If he can stop being an idiot, then yes, sign him. But until then, they should wait and see if they can trust him.

And I bet that's exactly what they are going to do.

Explain to me how these supposed pr gaffes hurt the Dallas Cowboys? Do you think it will hurt ticket sales? Tv time ? Merchandise sales?

Let me help. It won't. At all.

Also, the legalities of the case have been discussed on here thoroughly. So I won't go into it. Bottom line. He gets to appeal and has a right as a citizen of North Carolina to have a jury trial. The prosecuter chose not to pursue it and your probable assumption why is insignificant.

That is true about die hard fans wanting Hardy resigned, but fans don't make good GMs. That's why Jerry sucked for so many years.

A huge contract for Hardy is a huge risk. Major contracts are always a huge risk, but with Hardy it's even worse. I loved the one year signing of Hardy. I would love another one year signing. But to give him the JJ Watt money he's going to want? No way. Not right now. He would have to prove to me that he can be a team player, and that includes no distractions, no suspensions, no problems.

The Dallas Cowboys organization is a company, a major brand first and foremost. For us, they're our beloved team. But in reality, anything that is going to hurt that brand will be rectified. Usually, it's only about wins and losses. But lately, we have seen the Ravens, Panthers, 49ers, Vikings have problems with their image. I don't want that to happen with the Cowboys with a huge cornerstone player. It's ugly, and it can lead to a ton of dead cap money.

I mean, do any of us think the Panthers didn't want to resign Hardy? They wanted to, but it would have made them look terrible. The Ravens wanted to keep Rice. They couldn't. If Hardy can't just give a boring interview, then what else can't he refrain from doing? Before last game, Hardy had done nothing for the Cowboys other than hurt the brand. Now he has one great game and all the fans are opening up their fantasy checkbooks.

True die hard fans want the Cowboys to be good for many years to come, and they don't think knee jerk decisions are a good way of doing that.

What are the real world consequences of the brand being hurt?
I say none. I say it's all perceived public relations bs and doesn't matter to the bottom line. If it hurts some fans feelings I'm sure they'll be ok.

Hardy has never been in trouble, gets accused by a gold digger, has all charges dropped and is now a pariah.

Yet Big Ben gets accused of rape twice, Mike Vick kills dogs for sport and dozens other actual wife beaters are still in the league.

I would sign him to a 30m guaranteed contract tomorrow and not look back.

I agree, but I would argue that Vick is still a pariah, and he actually served time for his crime.

Cowboys are 8 Mil under the cap going into next year, Raiders 69 mil. Bears 59 mil. Bucs 47 mil. Jags 43 Mil. 49'ers 41 mil. One of these teams will make a offer the boys can't touch. Enjoy him while you can..

My understanding is Dallas will have a ton of cap room once all the dust settles.

If Hardy carries this through mid season, I would start firing up the contract machine. I agree with those of you that say not immediately. We all know the Playmaker can be extreme in his expressions. This is no different.

No, he's right. His level of play is unquestioned, there isn't any reason to see more. A good lesson for life, if you believe what you see and know what you know, make decisions now, not tomorrow, not the next day. Do not get distracted by noise. The only reason for hesitation is because of little *****es like Bradshaw, who are just so offended by the big, evil Hardy. Give me a break - sign this guy and let's go destroy some offenses. We have an opportunity to put together the best offensive AND defensive line in the league. And they're all young. And that is the stuff of multiple SB titles.

I think he is going to have more problems in the future, but that is just my opinion.

So, let me ask you this. You want to sign Hardy now. So you call his agent and tell him this. His agent tells you to start at the Suh contact number. What do you do? He has no reason to sign a deal with .50 cents on the dollar. Contracts keep going up and if Hardy is productive this year that is the number he is going to look to start at.

And he should be. All about intent. Guys like Josh Brent killed people but the intent was not there, he just wanted to have a good time. Michael Vick's intent was to torture and kill dogs for entertainment. Which makes him a total piece of trash. If people are too stupid to understand this key difference between Vick and others, that's their problem. Because that's all it is - stupidity.

He's the kind of blue chip talent that makes the rest of your defensive line better. They need to have him locked up.

Not saying he shouldn't be, but he served his time while guys like Ben Roethlisberger can get away with raping two girls and because he wasn't convicted in court, everything is all good. I don't like that kind of hypocrisy.

And you can make excuses for Josh Brent all you want, but the bottom line is when you get hammered and jump behind the wheel, you are putting many people in jeopardy, regardless of the intent, he got another man killed. That was also not the first time that he's got behind the wheel hammered. He's been caught 2 other times. Just think about the times that he's done that and didn't get caught.

multiple DUI's is intent frankly. That is why I wanted no part of him ever again- he never learned therefore as far as I am concerned he did intend to hurt people.

In come the "he's one and done" posts. I, along with many others, have been saying this long before his first game.

Unless there is some peripheral nonsense with him this year.

I would bet my membership on here to never post ever again if he is not given another longer term deal.

I can see him as a Niner easily. Will he give JJ a discount for showing some faith and loyalty? Can Gregory be the second coming of Hardy?

My $ says JJ hopes Gregory is that good so he can spend $ elsewhere.
