I highly doubt it.........

After that, I will totally admit I was wrong about the guy which it seems I was.
But noway if he retired today would he sniff the Hall of Fame. I would say the only QBs playing today that are probably locks are Peyton Manning (his numbers are through the roof), Brett Favre and Tom Brady (he just needs to stick around a little longer).

I also said if he had success, it would be in large part due to the fact that he was reunited with Bledsoe. I still stand by all of that.
I also said the guy needed to show us that he wasn't on the downturn and that he could overcome the problems that were universally acknowledged. The ball patting, the holding on to the ball, the immobility. I saw some of those same things against SD. He was able to overcome them and had a good game. Will he continue to do so? I certainly hope so, but there is no guarantee.
I am not buying into this "You Bledsoe detractors were wrong!" bologna. He has flaws in his game. Is one game proof enough to say he has overcome them? Not by a long shot. Bledsoe is still under observation for now.
Remember, people were talking potential MVP for QC based on the first five games of 2003. We all know how that turned out.
I am not ready to call him the answer, but all in all, I was happy with Sunday's performance.
Doomsday101 said:The ball patting stuff gets over blown I saw Brady doing it as well, ever since it was 1st brought up I started paying closer attention and the fact is other QB's do it as well. I will agree that 1 good outing does not make a season but I do think if the line can protect Bledsoe he has more than enough talent to get the job done
Nors said:Fouts is in.
Namath is too!
ABQCOWBOY said:My bad. Your correct Nors. Fouts is in. Never the less, it doesn't change the fact that Fouts accomplished his numbers in a time where the defenses dictated the passing game as opposed to the other way around.
This is something that must be considered in this evaluation.

ABQCOWBOY said:Well, in his defense, he is consistant.
Carl Kolchak. That's one of my guys man.
MichaelWinicki said:Bledsoe is competent. Really, that's where it begins and ends with him Doom. He's not all-world and he's not Chad Hutch.
Cowchips said:Competent?? I guess on one level I agree but on another level with just 3 more productive years, he would probably finish top 3 in passing yards and top 10 in touchdown passes and done it by age 36. Considering that just "competent" seems like more of a stretch than recognizing that it represents a HOF career.
calcbfan1 said:If you take the time to do the research at the NFL's website, you will see that Bledsoe is already all over the record books, and he's only 33 years old.
By the time we play Philly, Bledsoe will have passed Johnny Unitas and Joe Montana in passing yards. That will put him in eighth place all time, again, as a 33 year old.
Bledsoe is already 7th all time in completions, ahead of : Montana, Fouts, Kelly, Unitas, Young. By the end of the season he will be in 5th place all time. Behind only: Marino, Favre, Elway, and Moon.
More Bledsoe records: just for fun: Most pass attempts in a game-70. Most completions in a game 45...same game...no interceptions!
If Bledsoe plays 3 more years and puts up "average" numbers by his own standards. He will be in the HOF...not a first ballot guy, but he will deserve to get in. His records speak for themselves.
If he wins a SuperBowl, he is in for sure.

ABQCOWBOY said:Part of the problem, I think here, is that not all of the stats are considered. There are sack totals and turn over totals that will come into play when he is considered.
Bledsoe, IMO, is not a shoe in. In fact, he is on the boarder line.
If Bledsoe wins a championship or two, I think he makes it. If not, I honestly don't think he will get in.
