Is Dak Prescott the next Tebow?

Dak completed a lot of passes when Zeke was playing and Dak had good stats.

The fact that he struggles without Zeke indicates the receivers can't get open without the threat of Zeke.

Not having Zeke didn't change Dak's throwing motion...

The truth is he was inaccurate with a lot of those throws but those throws were more wide open because the run game was so dominant. He rarely looked downfield last season and he is repeating that trend now. Now the problem is that he is not getting 3 and 2, 3rd and 4, easy throws to convert. He is getting 3rd and long situations and he struggles with those throws.

He could have bounced back after Atlanta.

Didn't.

Philadelphia.

Didn't.

Now?

All I can say is that it is frustrating.

I am not going to blast the second year player because he can't live up to his amazing production to this point.

I just want to know what the hell is going on.

And if it all boils down to Ezekiel Elliott, we need a new QB.
I totally agree with you. I can't figure it out other than its part bad coaching and part sophomore slump. I remember we didn't win many games when one of the triplets in the 90's were out. Dak has been off and I was hoping for a good game out of him today. I really like DAK and hope he figures it out. I'm not going to lie,,,,i never seen this coming

No but it changed his decision making, he's confused and it's effecting his confidence badly. Wr's are also seeing more men in the secondary, I get it
No Zeke is exposing everyone including Jason Garett and Linehan

Trying to be positive ...

This is the first stretch he has endured with constant prsssure in his face and, obviously, without Elliott to lean on. The results are obviously disastrous.

My hope is this is simply a case of him being spooked by the pressure, to the point where he sees ghosts when they aren’t even there. And everything is breaking down about his game as a result. The hope being he is able to rebound, or pick the pieces back up as the situation improves.

In three weeks, he went from being a guy who was a TD or two off the league lead to being a guy who doesn’t deserve to be on the field. Very strange.

About Prescott being Tim Tebow's equal? Ideally never, because it will never be more or less true than it is now. It's an absurd assertion and always will be. It's a waste of time and bandwidth.

Absurd, why? What is different other than the fact that you believe in Prescott more?

You are missing the key point. He is more talented than Tebow, but he has to be schemed just like he was to be successful.
This is not a discussion about skill set or mentality.

Just on how he is used on the field.

And from the looks of things, he needs structure.

A lot of it.

he won 11 straight and broke NFL records with all that talent around him...not every Rookie could have done that........
How many rookies had the chance to play with three first team All-Pros on the same line and a 1st team All-Pro RB, while being asked to throw less than any other starter? Here’s a hint, it’s a round number.

I want to feel this way but he looks like he seriously can't play.

Like he was spoon fed everything to this point and he can't cope with things otherwise.

Can't judge with this garbage coaching

This ^^^^ all day.

I actually thought he played well considering. They showed a shot, where I cant remember who, did a button hook and, the other 2 on go routes 20 yds down field. No time for that!

I thought his back shoulder throws to Dez were money as well if Dez could freaking still catch!!!!

what rookie qb doesn't need help? Isn't it amazing how Goff looks like a completely different qb with a new coaching staff? Romo had a 6-10 season and 3 8 and 8 seasons under Garrett as well.

NOt true..Dak didn't throw less than any other starter. His passing yards last year were fairly high.

Do you really think Tebow was ever as good as Dak has been...even at his best?

He played awful against the Eagles...but today there simply weren't people open or the pass protection didn't hold up.

How many times do we need to see Witten run routes short of the first down marker to understand that it's not an efficient use of him?

How many times do we need to run an All-6 route just to see it work with limited success?

How many times do we need to see a dink-n-dunk attack and see it NOT work (even with Romo) before we stop running these short curl and drag routes?

How many times does a ball have to go thru T-Will's hands?

How often are we going to treat our Z-Receiver like an extra tight end and wonder why we can't move the ball downfield?

A helluva lot more problems than Dak.

Just get over Romo.

Seriously.

I get he is like some ex-girlfriend who gave you wild sex from time to time, but please, just stop talking about him.

He has zero relevance to this team and what we do going forward.

It does make you wonder even more about the coaching staff though.

Did they see — know? — Dak was a limited player but just didn’t want to disrupt the momentum of the team? If so, that says plenty about this staff.

I want to feel this way but he looks like he seriously can't play.

It’s hard to disagree. I’m seeing the same things. It’s as if the game is suddenly being played in a different language.

Still, it wasn’t as if these struggles started in week 1. He had a legit 25 game stretch of budding play.

And then BOOM.

Well, we are not getting a new coach.

What now?

We aren't getting a new coach, then expect more 8 and 8 seasons to come.

If we are not, then we HAVE to get a new OC. The passing game is archaic with no talent. I would keep Beasley and that's about it. Linny is not a bad OC, but he's a bad OC for this team and this QB.

everyone who hated on Dak Doubters need to eat that big ol plate of crow, hope it tastes good.

Dak isn't as bad as the last 4 weeks, but I think it's safe to say he's just an OK qb. Not horrible, not good. Just OK.

QB searches are painful but personally I'd rather keep trying for "good". Don't want to settle for "decent" because the process is nasty and scary, because "decent" doesn't get you anywhere.

I'd like to see a 1st round QB next year with our what looks to be high pick.

We keep losing or maybe next season get close again. Same ole same ole. Garrett is terrible and everyone around the league knows this. Until Garrett is gone we are going to be a .500 team...
