I'll take the elite player over a 2nd tier player and take my chances. Especially when your picking at the back end of the first round where it's worth the risk.
Gregory was a top 5 talent and elite prospect. Foster is in the same boat and I can't fault the team for not taking another trouble player and especially not in the first

When you have an elite talent staring you on the face you don't let him slide. Foster was a top 5 talent. You find places on your team to fit them in.
That is what everyone would have said if the Cowboys had passed on Randy Gregory.

In addition to the character issues, there is uncertainty about Foster's ability to function in coverage in the NFL where it is more complicated than college.

Nzeocha and Wacha are the ones I'm looking forward to watching. Jaylon at 90% could still be the most athletic LB on team.

I hope so as this is the weakest area of the team and it isn't even close. An older injury risk Sean Lee, a blue chip prospect who is past his window for the nerve in his knee to re-fire, and...well, nothing. A bunch of bums, to be honest.

I'd love for you to get thrown in with them and go head up with a professional level offensive tackle and then talk a single word of crap about linebackers...

This and it's not even debatable.

I see where the ignorance on linebackers is on site...two linebackers are needed for packages: Smith and Lee

The other needs are met well with this group of linebackers. They are the glue between defensive line and secondary...not the face for a Marinelli defense.

Smith is an interesting player whom I suspect will play well this year. I don't know where he fits into SPs though. I know they like Lee on the field and for good reason. He's got great first step and in the box speed and instincts. Smith is faster though and it will depend on individual matchups per game and how well they are playing cover LBer. I think it's too early to predict who the cover LBers will be. My guess is Smith will need some time in grade before being the best cover LBer he can be.

Smith also has some pass rush ability. Interesting if they use him there or just coverage.

Oh, Smith is a three down linebacker...I'm not giving the sick, lame, and lazy excuses the door to enter a conversation with him. He was strong in coverage and will be the same on the Cowboys.

I think Wilson starts out as one of the cover LBers. I think J Smith will push either him or Lee at some point. Injuries always seem to settle some of these questions. I'd prefer all three be able to play 3 downs.
