Is it time to declare Claiborne a bust?

Until this DL is fixed, I just have to laugh, sorry, but its true, at anyone that even hints of an issue in the secondary.
You thank Mo was an issue last year,,, just wait until this season minus a D Ware, Spencer, any notion of a pass rush on the current roster. lol
Now Im a Cowboy fan past the day I die, but even looking at the secondary at this point is totally a waste of time, and anyone that has a feel for this actual roster,,, Dooms, and many others know that.
Its just football fellas, if you ever played the game you know that it doesnt matter how skilled you are if you are in the secondary if your guys up front are not getting the job done.
Maybe, just maybe only a Deion Sanders could handle his assignment without any notion of a pass rush, but I bet he would have been tested to.
Until we have some players that can get to the QB, the issues in the secondary will remain, no matter what you do to try and fix.
IMO this team has gone about it backwards, having Carr and Claiborne on most teams in the league would be considered one of the best CB tandems in the league... just one team, the Jets,,, they would be loved by their fan base.
Just wake the hell up,, your secondary will look like crap if you have zero help up front.

You half a good response. Duely noted and accepted.
I know you are a busy mans so I will let you go now and I will go look at the web for all them "studies."

please do, seeing and reacting with physcial talent and building a rocket or healing people not exactly the same fields. While grading out high for my doctor is a must a football player comes down to can you play the game at a high enough level. You would think QB it would mean a lot but then again some of the all time great QB's did not fair that great on those test. Most of these guys have been involved in football and sports in general for much of their lives and do take it seriously more so than a math test or some other test

NFL looks for everything but wonderlic does not stop teams from going after players they deem have the talent to play the game. If wonderlic meant that much why would a team grab a guy who graded lower than what is considered good? and it is not just the Cowboys. Being book smart and football smart is not exactly the same

That is not mein premise: that the wonderlic is THE assessment for players. The NFL, however and whatever, consider the Wonderlic as important in assessing a players reasoning ability that MIGHT come into play (heh) on the playing field.
You obviously know more than the NFL about the test, so I bow to your considered and valued opinion.

Not all teams put as much emphasis on it and yes they are looking at everything on players top to bottom but fact is high wonderlic scores do not determine if a player will be a good player or not. Hell Eli scored higher than Peyton I'll gladly take Peyton over his brother because knowing what time 2 trains meet if one left a station at this time and other left a station at another time does not mean a damn thing in the NFL and Peyton can break down a play a hell of a lot quicker than little brother does.

All the Wonderlic test determines is if someone's dumb or not. Claiborne is obviously cognitively challenged. Reacting to an offensive play based on knowledge, game study, film study, etc. is something he'll have immense trouble with based on his score.

His coaches at LSU said he is a visual learner, he sees and understands fine. A test from a book is different. You can see a certain alignment and be able to determined based on looks what is coming. Claiborne's issues have mainly been about injury when he was benched he was also playing with the shoulder injury and trying to overcome that. Again as fas as I'm concerned if a player is not on the field playing he is not helping the team and I think this is a critical season for Claiborne but I certainly think he has the skills and ability to play this game at a high level evidently many scouts felt the same way since everyone had him rated very high.

Well, he's certainly not used his visual learning skills thus far. It's my opinion that he hasn't learned much and is incapable of learning the techniques he needs to learn in order to succeed. I hope I'm wrong.

Alot of people were calling Dez a bust after year 2 also. It is to soon t judge him. Give him another year to see how he does.

I think you are wrong but as I said injured and sitting on the bench does not help him or the Cowboys. It falls to Claiborne to prove himself but I believe in him.

Oh brother. Given the circumstances of his test score you are reaching and I don't mean a little bit.

Somehow I since that your do not equate reasoning ability on the test to real-field situations. If train A leafs Station A and train B leafs Station B then I hope there is no collision and stuff. Reasoning is a factor in football, so it is relevant, belief me. I did not become the sitar expert I am today without reasoning that खझल्लाहट B is unlike माल ढुलाई C, Sahib.
So give the test and the NFL some credit. They are on to something and if not, then they just is making athletes nervous on test day (Vince Young the exception).

I bet many of the scouts that rated him so high wish that they could have a do-over.

Who was calling Dez a bust after 15 tds in his first 2 years?? Claibum can't even stay on the field without getting hurt. Can't even get more than one pick in a season.

Me too. Don't remember anyone calling Dez a bust. Maybe wanted more touches on offense, but not a bust.

Maybe not called a bust but people are still trying to trade the guy.

Claiborne has to stay healthy.

Too early to call him a bust.

If I remember correctly this place wasn't too high on Tyron before last season.

Maybe all players don't progress on the same slope.

Can this board pitch in to have take a proctored Wonderlic? I can't even imagine how to handicap that. You'll either get a 1 or 50. I'll put $100 there is no way you score between 15-40

I really want to know this. I was all in on 1 and then saw the ढुलाई = transportation, so Im befuddled

I remember some if it. He had trouble with running his routes and was in trouble off the field. Dez sure showed more than Mo has.!i never doubted Dez's talent like I have doubted Mo's.

The difference between the players is that Dez and Tyron showed flashes of talent. They just needed to raise there level of play on a consistent basis. Mo has never shown the ability to be great. He is not considered to be fast for a CB and it shows.

I agree with you jnday, and Im just not ready as a fan to give up on Mo, but just keeping it real... Mo.. its time to show.
