Why wouldn't it be?

Have you ever worked/live near a former felon? If so, did you trust them? Probably not. You probably would feel uneasy with a former murderer living across the street from you. Would you just say " Oh he served his time, I'm sure he is a fine young chap now!"? lol

People who don't realize Murder can apply to animals as well make me laugh. Pick up a dictionary ;)

I didn't say he was like those people. I used those type of people as examples that you may serve your time but that doesn't make it any easier for people to stomach.

If your work hired a former rapist or murderer you wouldn't feel at ease about it. Don't lie to yourself. If your work hired someone who killed animals for fun you probably would immediately think the guy was weird before even knowing him. Would you not? You can't honestly tell me that wouldn't seem "off" to you.

1.
Law . the killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law. In the U.S., special statutory definitions include murder committed with malice aforethought, characterized by deliberation or premeditation or occurring during the commission of another serious crime, as robbery or arson (first-degree murder), and murder by intent but without deliberation or premeditation (second-degree murder).

The converse is also not true. A dog cannot murder a person or really anything else for that matter.

I never said that you did and if my work hired a person that raped dogs then I would actually laugh. Then there is the whole issue of whether it was consensual.

From a statutory perspective there is no such thing as dog murder

Yet people wanted T.O to lose his job for less reason than I want Vick to. They hated him for talking to much and standing on the star and disrespecting the game. Is that anymore justifiable than my stance?

Vick gave a lady herpes and didnt tell her. Had to settle in court. Flicked off his own teams fans after a loss. Had multiple marijuana run ins. Goes to jail and STILL doesn't learn to stay away from trouble. I'm sorry for not having sympathy for him. I hate when people have a gift and blow it.

I hear all of that but thats NOT what I was talking about. My point was that VIck served his for the crime he did...

This says it all. The rest is your personal problem with Vick..

Unfortunately, debt to the judicial system and debt to society are two different things. To me, Vick's an idiot for not keeping a low profile at least for a few years. The guy can throw all the parties he wants to after his NFL days are done (may be sooner rather than later), but if he had any amount of common sense, he would be sitting on his couch watching TV or working out when not practicing. At least until he can sign another multi-year contract with some desperate-yet-stupid NFL team.

Oh and I have also worked with and had business ties with people that were involved in various forms of animal fighting. No, I never participated nor wanted to. I never worried about them for that reason.

He served time, not enough nor does it repay the lifes of those poor animals.

Do you have a problem with animals or something? Honestly no offense but I rarely see people defend someone who has lead to the cruel killing of HUNDREDS of ANIMALS who were defenseless, what did they do to deserve that? If it was people in whereever your home country is im sure you'd be mad.

Dogs are MAMMALs, humans are MAMMALs, we are more "evolved" that doesnt mean our lives are worth more.

That's exactly what I'd say and then continue to live my life...

He's not defending Vick for what he did. He's just saying he got what was coming to him.

Opposums are mammals. My parents had one in their attic and they hired a pest control guy that poisoned it. The pest control guy should be stoned to death!

Doesn't mean all should be forgiven.

Would you forgive a drunk driver if they ran over your mother/children and got a year in jail?

When this thread gets nuked, can we have a new one strictly for ridiculing the Eagles?

#5
5. to kill or slaughter inhumanly or barbarously.

I'm sure the majority would agree forcing other animals to fight for your pleasure would qualify as inhumane and barbarously.

You can't honestly tell me you'd have no problem with your company sitting a former felon next to you at work. You wouldn't say "oh he served his time. I think I'll ask him to house sit for me this weekend"

There are exceptions, if one is poseing a danger to you or your property then you are defending yourself, so yes defense is fine. Harming something without reason however is not.

:laugh2: Dude, if you would read the whole thread, you would see I was actually making the same point, to an extent.

Obviously you aren't paying attention and your emotions are getting the best of you. No, I don't have a problem with animals and I'm not defending Vick. I'm saying that Vick served his time for the crime he did. What part of that don't you understand?

There is a big difference in killing something quickly, and forcing it to fight for it's life. You can't be serious. Think about it for a second. Squashing a bug is nowhere near the same as putting 2 animals in a ring that you are already starving to death and beating, and then making them fight to the death.

The part that you apparently think 1 year is enough for what he did.
