Romo is a great success story..going from an UFDA to QB of the Dallas cowboys.... so why can't we just leave it at that and enjoy him for what he is....a good NFL QB....he is not a HOFer.

Many other good NFL QBs are not in. .Esaison, Plunkett,Simms, Theismann, Stabler, Jurgenson..... I just don't see Romo in....

Danny White deserves to be in over Romo. Not that either are even close to HOF material but still. Romo only wishes he could have the success Danny had.

If you mean Troy, as in Aikman...you just mentioned one of the biggest Romo fans on the planet.

My comment was because Troy had the most wins as a qb in the 90s, that probably means a little something to him.

He'd have to get at least 1 ring to be in the discussion. Hell, Eli has 2 & I don't think he's HOF worthy.

I hope Troy isn't that insecure... he's too smart to not know that QB wins are for brainless buffoons. Besides, Troy had great stats... he just didn't accumulate big totals because he didn't need to throw all game long like Young, Marino or Favre. Team wasn't built that way.

This is sure to piss people off, but Eli is 100% a Hall of Famer. 2 time Super Bowl Mvp? Book it.

I think he can, but be does have to bounce back. Fairly sure he would be the 1st HOFer to lead the NFL in interceptions three times as it is. There is a limit to how bad he can play... he just can't finish his career like this. I think if he can just eke out a few more years of his normal play he will be ok. He will have good counting numbers.

HOF needs to take a look at the whole body of work. Sure, he won the 2 Super Bowls and that's great. I wish we had one of those lately. But besides those 2 years, he has not been that good and throws way too many picks.

Do you also believe Ben R is a HOFer? I don't. Or what if Wilson wins another Super Bowl next few years? Is he a HOFer?

Only 5 players in the history of the league with SB 2 MVPs. Best player in the biggest stage.

The only way Romo gets in the HOF is he would have to go on a Dynasty run starting next season. He would have to win 3 in a row and then retire on top. Two back to back might get him in the discussion but I don't even think that will be enough. He just doesn't have the playoff resume to get him in.

So Moon and Fouts had the "playoff resume" to get them in? Romo already has great stats, he needs more playoff success, and possibly/probably a SB to get in - but not "3 in a row". That's ridiculous.

Not really but what he did do is have his biggest and best performances when it mattered most, the qb in this era that reminds me of Troy would be Eli except Eli isn't as good as Troy.

I know you're not comparing Romo to Moon or Fouts. Moon and Fouts were considered two of the best in their era and put up huge numbers in the 70's/80's which was unheard of at that time. Romo is in a pass happy league and he was never considered in the discussion with Brady or Manning. Plus Moon and Fouts were not labeled as Choke artist in their day, Romo has to totally shake that choke label and that's gonna take a dynasty run to do it.

As of this moment, yep. Same boat legacy wise, sort of. McNabb was the 2nd overall pick in '99 (which can be argued as a positive, or a negative, when compared to Romo), is arguably the best QB in Eagles history, 4 NFC Championship appearances and got to a Super Bowl. Still, very similar careers, though legacy wise McNabb is likely slightly greater than Romo at this point.

I think he got jacked out of SB by cheating patriots. JMO.
Too bad for him mad TO but good for us. I never want eagles to get SB win. Never. Ever.

Will not take a dynasty and Moon was in a pass happy offense.

From what I'm looking at, he's only led the NFL in interceptions once (2012*). Are you anticipating him doing it twice more before he's done?
Any anyway, Joe Namath led pro football in interceptions in 1966, '74, and '75; Brett Favre led in 1993, 2005, and 2008.

*And I know it's bad to lead the league in interceptions, but that year Romo tied Drew Brees at 19. You'd have to go back twenty years to find as low a number leading the league, and thirty years to find a lower number.

Romo has a lot going for him if he wants to get into the HoF. Because of who he plays for, he'll have to do less than most QB's would have to to qualify. I think that if he wins a ring in the next few seasons, he'll get in.
