Of course he deserves recognition. He has accomplished quite a bit. It isn't unfair to make the comparison. It is just when the comparisons are checked off one by one, it is easy to see that Bledsoe just isn't in the same class as Elway. Vinny Testaverde is ranked higher than Bledsoe in several career numbers and he isn't as good as Drew.

I think he is an over rated QB and I do not think he can get us to the SuperBowl (yes that is my opinion)

Yes he tends to Throw Int's his ratio is not that good it is not bad but it is not the best thing since slice bread either and his timing of int's have been bad

He has a career of low completion %

His strong point is the long ball but he has lower YPA on his throws than most West coast offense QB's

He tends to fumble the ball and take stupid sacks holding on to the ball to long always trying to make a big play

That was my view before we got him and it was my view after he played last year

I was not drinking the kool aid about Bledsoe when he was with other teams and I am not going to start just because he has a star on his helment

Also Bledsoe should never be mentioned in the same sentence with Staubach or Elway. He is an okay QB who throws a good deep ball. His short passes aren't really that good. He is about as mobile as the statue of libery and holds on to the ball to long. Superstar QB's do not end up playing for three different teams. Man am I ready for a young QB to grow with this franchise. If we have to stay geriatric at the QB position I would rather have Favre. At least he has a superbowl ring for doing more than watching from the sideline!

No, Bledsoe is still fiarly young given his overall health. I don't understand where these mediots get this perception that Bledsoe has 2 Years left before retirment. Bledsoe is in great shape and very healthy for QBs his age. If you could put a team around him I think he'll open some big eyes and win some meaningful playoof games. Just look at Elway; once all the mediots wrote him off and had him pegged for retirement, the Bromcos decide to build a team around him and BOOM - he's a 2-timing SuperBowl Champion. Bledsoe now has the WR's and RB's; we now have to give him the OL. That's the key.

Actually, the Broncos won the Super bowl after deciding NOT to build the team around Elway anymore. They won when they finally built the team around Terrell Davis. Marino could have won a Super Bowl had the Dolphins done this. Manning's chances are significantly lower now that Edge is out of Indy. Offenses that are too much about one guy (unless it's a workhorse back) typically don't win Championships.

I think he is maybe in the top 3... if not the best... at getting sacked...is there another qb who has been sacked more than 451 times...he has been in the league for what 13 years that is 34.692307692307692307692307692308 per year unfreaking real and that is including the season he only played 2 games...He has played in 188 games and averages 2.3989361702127659574468085106383 per game he also averages 1.0531914893617021276595744680851 INT's per game and0.63829787234042553191489361702128 Fum per game

so you can count on 2.4 sacks 1 INT and 1 Fumble per game he also has a career comp % of 57.3% and only a 6.64 YPA not only that his team has finished last or next to last in his division something like 10 out of 13 times...I don't care how much syrup you poor on it that is some ugly, ugly numbers

That isn't that weird.

In three years, Bledsoe will be sitting at #2 all-time for passing yards behind only Marino (for about 3-4 years until Manning passes him on his way to Marino). Assuming the Boys can put him in a position to win like Broncos did for Elway late in his career so he can win a Super Bowl or two, I don't see any reason that he shouldn't be considered an equal to Elway.

Yeah, Elway ran more than Bledsoe, but that is only a style issue. Really, the only thing that makes Elway special and unique is his famous comebacks, and that may be a reason to say that he is ultimately better than Bledsoe. But though he may be better, there is no discredit to Elway to compare Bledsoe to him, especially if he wins a Super Bowl and retires as the #2 passer of all time.
