Is this the lowest the fanbase has ever been?

How about signing Henry, re-signing Tyron and putting Guyton at RT?

And along with most of the rest of the guys who got hurt, the QB wasn't doing much before injury.
Tyron is probably done but I am in favor of putting Guyton at right tackle if he doesn't show any Improvement during training camp. I think Steele did a lot better towards the last half of the season because I never heard his name called but I'm not sure if he's worth the contract and we're going to be tight against the cap since somebody demanded to be the highest paid player in history.

An owner getting more dug in and out of touch,

last to sign a new HC,

both of our NFC East competitors in a Game that we haven't seen in 30 years,

our non-elite Qb bearing the highest salary cap burden in the NFL,

20 unrestricted FAs to be dealt with,

Giants potentially getting the #1 or #2 Qb in the draft......

Our future never looked brighter
Not to mention

Eagles recently won a Super Bowl
Commanders full rebuild and one win from the Super Bowl
Giants have won two

… yet we cannot even get to the nfc championship game

I think these newer fans never saw the early to mid-90s. Just having a winning record and getting bounced in the first round is unacceptable.
Fans like me that saw the 70s and early 90s have had a real adjustment in expectations.
I know know the NFL is cyclical and you can't be on top all the time, but 29 years of mismanagement has really ground my gears.
I no longer have any enthusiasm for this team and yearn for the meaningful change that should but never happens.

Been reading all the threads here and listening to constant ridicule on the media of Jethro and Team.

There doesn’t seem to be any optimism from anyone.

Even some of the diehard homers on this board have disappeared or changed their tune.

A lot of lifers here, do you consider this the lowest the fanbase has ever felt about the team?

I remember paper bags on head in Landry’s last year and Jimmy’s first year.

Fans were low after the Campo years until a rejuvenation shot of Parcells.

But is this the worst it’s ever been?
I don't know if it's the lowest, because we haven't had the result/outcome. We haven't actually hired anyone YET.

I think there is still a chance that we do something good here and then this is a filled with optimism.

But it definitely looks like we are headed on down times.... self inflicted too.

My enthusiasm is also gone and if we hire Schottenheimer I might not watch a game this year. I'm tired of this.

As a kid I remember the 3 straight NFC championship losses, and being crushed, but I always had hope. After this season, I have no faith in JJ or SJ. We had our window, and it's closed now. I feel this organization is now making it up as they go, along with Philly staying competitive, Washington is now on the right course, and the rest of the NFC is getting stronger, I am 50 now and can honestly say I don't know if we will ever see Dallas in NFC championship game anytime soon.
The window you speak of was shut when the salary cap was implemented and Jerry couldn’t buy his team. He’s done absolutely nothing, and will continue to do nothing in the salary cap era.

We are certainly in the group with these teams as horribly run franchises:

jets, bengals, browns, jags, raiders, falcons, panthers, cardinals.

These are not franchises you want to be grouped with. Its depressing.
All of those teams have made it to a CCG at least once in the last 25 years except the Browns. It's an insult to them to be grouped with Dallas.

The group is really just the Cowboys, Browns, Dolphins, and Texans (and they are good right now with a shot to get out of this shame club).

Campo years were a barren wasteland of losing .
But they weren't long after our dynasty, not 30 years into a playoff wasteland. Most people expected a losing period after that team got old. Nobody expected where we are at over 20 years after the Campo era.

For me yes. At least during the 1-15 season we knew we were building something and there was hope. Hope is now gone and there’s nothing to look forward to. At some point a lot of fans, like myself, will just tune out completely and never return. I’m getting close and I never thought I’d be here. Cowboys have been such a huge part of my life. But it no longer brings me any joy, only pain and misery. And life is too short for that.

Yes.

I'm 45, and I haven’t watched my team in a Super Bowl, or even an NFC Championship game, since I was 16. That’s brutal. I can’t imagine what it’s like for these young fans in their 20s and 30s. They have no idea what it’s like to see their team truly compete for something meaningful. At least I spent years holding onto hope, thinking something might finally break our way…...but we all know the history.

Now, here I am, dealing with the reality of a front office that’s a complete joke. As a fan, it’s just crushing.

I officially checked out last year when they gave Dak that ridiculously stupid contract. Look around the league and you see teams moving on from players like him. But what does Dallas do? They double down. That was a sobering moment for me. I decided then and there: no more emotional investment in this team until real, significant changes happen. Sadly, those changes might not come until Jerry leaves this Earth.

Looking back...was it really that cool.

Im the same age as you.

Is it really that cool to see a team with unlimited funds plow through other teams? Only if this is all about money and not sport...so dont side step.

I was young and loved those teams...but reflecting on how much advantage Dallas had...it diminishes it a bit for me.

I have posted here numerous times about how basketball games at the local rec get ruined by young kids forming super teams, or there being one guy that is like 7 inches taller than everyone ruing the fun games. who goes to the local rec to dominate other than a grifter?

Jerry supposedly spearheaded the cap implementation for the League...and parity makes the viewing product so much better. You...you are promoting LSU vs Southeast Montanta State type matchups.....which ruin college ball with the 55-3 scores. Who wants to watch that? Sure...it makes Southeast Montana State money....but no one wants to watch that.

Im kinda over the Jimmy 90's Cowboys talk.........its like a lame pop-warner coach putting a kid 60lbs heavier than everyone at running back. Its trash. Jerry might not be about winning for his team, but the cap thing is way better for the viewer of football

Yeah, those dynasties sucked. I have enjoyed the last 30 years so much better.

Yes, it was absolutely terrible watching your favorite team win a championship. Would hate for it to happen again.
