It appears Cowboys RB Malik Davis is the favorite to be the No. 2 RB behind Tony Pollard

Hes not a pet cat, so good luck.

Did see a clip of him going untouched for a TD.

He looked huge compared to the other RBs. And hes only 6'1. But he is 235.

I hope to see him a lot in pre season. And not just as a FB. Like to see if he can actually run the ball at this level.
Not a pet cat? Dude's name was all over these boards after we picked him up. Maybe he's just not standing out or just lost in the Deuce shuffle.

After a couple of preseason games one of these will be a Cowboy....
  1. Dalvin Cook.
  2. Kareem Hunt
  3. Leonard Fournette
  4. Zeke
There would have to be an injury or 2. Cook is asking for too much money. Fournette is out of shape. The Cowboys like the guys that they have. Zeke could come in if they have some injuries.

Bingo again lol. It’s such a niche role that’s mainly dictated by line play. You don’t sign an RB strictly for goal line situations. Plenty of guys can hit creases, not just Zeke.
Right. Just because we haven’t seen it doesn’t mean they can’t do it.

We're in trouble.... He wasn't even trusted when Pollard went down against SF...
Players do improve. Davis has had an entire offseason to better learn his assignments and this offense. He's not the same guy that wasn't trusted seven months ago.

It definitely could lead to trouble and a possible trade for an RB during the season. However, the Cowboys still haven’t closed the door on Zeke returning.

Davis and Pollard will work out just fine.
That remains to be seen. If we struggle to pick up a yard or two on critical third and fourth downs and can’t punch it into the endzone from up close, it’s going to lead to big trouble. Would much rather have Zeke than Davis.

In a “all in year”, I wouldn’t have been mad to have signed Dalvin Cook to solidify a position with some questions…….if the salary cap could be managed, of course

I do understand we can’t have pro-bowlers at every position…..but it would be sweet

PS game performance is probably the most significant factor in a player making the team. Favorites now do not matter much.

They plan going with what they have. It will be interesting to see how the running backs do in the preseason games.

If you think Malik Davis is going to put on a show you’re going to end up wrong. We better hope Pollard returns to form.
I think that Davis is a solid player. That's why he made the team last year.

The biggest concern with Davis is he’s unproven. When Pollard went down against San Francisco in the playoffs, the Cowboys showed no confidence in him. He didn’t get a single carry. We went with Zeke the rest of the way. Now with Zeke gone and Jones suspended the first two games of the regular season, we have no choice but to give him an opportunity.
