An appeal is not the end of it.

In terms of suspension length, yes it is. If the court issued an injunction, like they did with Brady, then Zeke could play while it was tied up in court.

However, the only thing another court could look at is if Goodell has the right to suspend. That was already decided in the Brady case, which is why Zeke's case might not ever be heard.

Yes, and federal labor law allows private entities like the NFLPA and the NFL to voluntarily agree to the ground rules that will be used to assess fairness.

The ground rules here give Goodell the power to decide everything.

And the court has to enforce those rules.

Sorry but labor law does not allow for unequal punishments. You're using the wrong words and struggling to keep up with the new information.

Goodell cut it to four. That was largely based on the fact that Hardy had missed a full season already.

Yup. And he very well might agree to reduce this one too. But as you point out, whatever he decides on appeal will almost certainly be upheld in court.

No there are portions of the labor law that do not allow for unequal punishment. Brady never invoked that because on the uniqueness of his infraction. There have been multiple instances of DV and even more criminal cases.

That is the one and only angle I see.

If Zeke's attorneys can prove that this was entirely decided based on domestic violence, then there is a clear inequity of judgment based on Josh Brown and Ray Rice.

However, "conduct detrimental" is a catch-all phrase that is hard to work around because of the CBA language. That's the problem for Zeke.

Not from hers if she agreed to it. They corroborated her timeline with the metadata of the pictures of her bruises and her encounters with Zeke.

It's still circumstantial, but it added up chronologically.
Not really. Their evidence is bruises. Zeke's team points to pictures of bruises prior to his arrival. And it's dismissed without a second thought. She has three distinct bruise timelines. One set when Zeke wasn't there. One set from a fight, where the NFL report contradicts sworn affidavits. And one set supposedly from Zeke. The NFL took her word that the bruises blamed on Zeke were from DV. The other two sets were disregarded and unexplained.

TT: Hey he beat me look at these bruises.

NFL: Mr. Elliott, can you explain these bruises?

EE: Well no but there's pictures of bruises before I even got there. What's the explanation for those? And there's other bruises from a fight.

NFL: The timing of these bruises aligns with our victim's story, disregarding the one's that don't.

However, in the commissioners’ judgement, there has been no persuasive evidence presented on your behalf with respect to how Ms. Thompson’s obvious injuries were inccurred other than conjecture based on the presence of some of her bruising which pre-dates your arrival in Columbus on July, 16, 2016.

I was just thinking that, it will be fun if we beat the Giants by 10 with our backup RBs gaining 150 yards.
I actually think this is kind of good for the Giants game. You don't beat them on the ground. You spread them out. This gives Dallas the reason to do so.

The court can't reduce a suspension. There's no such law to do so.

You are completely wrong here, and you have no idea what you're on about. Again, there are multiple issues to be brought up, especially if what Zeke's agent said is true and how they may have ignored and cherry picked evidence.

Whether Zeke wins or not in court does not make what you are saying true.

They can certainly eliminate a suspension if what Zeke's agent is saying is true.

Honestly, this entire thing will most likely not even get there because Zeke's suspension will most likely be reduced due to the amount of previous suspensions he can point to over similar, and at times, far worse situations.

It's a weak criminal case against Zeke, no doubt.

But the league believes her, and that's all that matters because of the CBA.

You are wrong. End of story. A few google searches does not an expert make.

You clearly have no understanding about collective bargaining, the judicial deference to arbitration rulings mandated by federal law, or how the federal appellate process works.

Thank God for your sake that Zeke's lawyers do, and that they will make the best case they can, staying away from your uninformed assertions.

Nope. There's no definitive way to prove any of this, and the league does not have to prove anything.

He wasn't disciplined under conduct detrimental.

The DV criminal bylaws talk about someone who has been charged, arrested, and taken to court. None of that applies to Zeke as he was not even arrested much less charged.

Kessler and the NFLPA's lawyers are excellent. I am sure they will come up with things that we never consider.

You know, whether Zeke wins or not, I want him to take this to court just for the chance to make Goodell look bad. The unfairness of it all needs to be exposed.

Zeke's best hope is a threat of strike by the NFLPA if the NFL doesn't reconsider its position. THAT is where his and their power lies.

Bruises can take how long before showing up?
The formation of a bruise has everything to do with the person receiving the bruise, the mechanism behind the bruise and the location of the bruise on the body. Someone taking blood thinners will present with a bruise much faster than, say, a 10 year old with no medical conditions. 30 minutes to a few days is an accurate assessment. Also, bruises may not always be visible. A muscle may be bruised but the blood may not be apparent under the skin.

https://www.quora.com/How-long-does-it-take-for-a-bruise-to-form
Hasn't anyone seen Gone Girl or Fear or Fatal Attraction or Fight Club?????

Bruises don't mean anything without context and cross-examination

The main fact is that cops were on-site and let Zeke go free..... that almost never happens

Lie small......Lie all
